I don't know why I've bothered to hide my face as if you know me you know me!

I got this website recommended and ordered this dress, they send the wrong colour as if orders blue. But I think the green is nice too!

Honest opinions on it for first date 😬

If you are normally flamboyant and very dressy with lots on show, I'd go for it. Otherwise it's too much IMO.

I'm sorry, what era are we living in that this dress is flamboyant with lots on show? God forbid the woman show her ankles, someone fetch me my swooning ches lounge at once.

OP you look beautiful and not overdressed at all, don't worry about what anyone else will be wearing as long as you feel comfortable and gorgeous that's all that matters!

NowDoYouBelieveMe · 29/01/2023 13:31

I think you look great, hope you have fun!

chillih · 29/01/2023 13:32

You look great!

StreamingCervix · 29/01/2023 13:35

It’s a nice dress and you have a lovely figure.

is your usual style quite dressy and smart? Or is this a bit of a ‘Wow…look at you!’ Kind of outfit? I don’t know if I’d want a man to think a first date with him warranted the big guns, if that makes any sense?!

Mirabai · 29/01/2023 14:03

I mean it’s way OTT for London - but Essex, Cheshire or Liverpool it might be fine.

Mammyloveswine · 29/01/2023 14:05

I think it's beautiful! But it's just my style and I live in dresses lol!

You look fabulous and I'll always prefer to be overdressed than underdressed but I am quite glam generally!

Mammyloveswine · 29/01/2023 14:09

Ignore all the jealous "it's too revealing" comments, funny how misogyny can come from other women...

DialsMavis · 29/01/2023 14:13

Its looks fabulous

coconotgrove · 29/01/2023 14:36

AnyFucker · 29/01/2023 12:32

You are fab but the dress is horrid

Low cut and leg split is too much

The colour is drab

The style is a bit “try hard”

Concur absolutely.

toucancancan · 29/01/2023 15:14

You look AMAZING and the shoes look perfect

dangbongo · 29/01/2023 15:16

It's a beautiful dress and it looks lovely on you. Whether it's right for a first date or not entirely depends on you and your style.
Are you generally glam when you go out? Would you usually wear a posh frock and heels?
It's the sort of outfit that my friends from my home town would wear as standard for a night out. Heels or strapped sandals as standard.
For me, it's a dress I may wear for a wedding or a ball. For a night out I'd be in jeans, a vintage dress or a Boilersuit with amazing jewellery and DMs or trainers.

So if it's "you" and reflects your natural style then go for it.
If it's not, save it for a party.
If it's "you" OP then it's perfect.

dangbongo · 29/01/2023 15:18

(And same goes for how much boobage there is on show. If you're comfy with cleavage and low tops are part of your style then ignore those saying it's too much)

Joyfuljolly · 29/01/2023 15:18

It looks fabulous you are rocking it and the shoes are perfect. The green is way better than the blue would be. Go for it, you will knock his socks off.

This is kind of what I was trying to say.

featheryfancy · 29/01/2023 15:24

Yeah it's lovely. I don't think it's too formal at all. I think the pattern helps to reduce the dressy-ness.
You look beautiful!

Greensleevevssnotnose · 29/01/2023 15:32

I think the shape and colour are great I would put a cami under it but my boobs are HH and I don't like them out. I can't walk in heels. If you can then great. I would wear ballet pumps and a biker jacket over the top. Or long coat cos it's still winter.

QCKC · 29/01/2023 15:57

Love it. Ignore the naysayers.

smileladiesplease · 29/01/2023 16:58

Looks lovely op you look great

What an odd comment re London! Have you ever been there?

TVMouse · 29/01/2023 17:03

Mammyloveswine · 29/01/2023 14:09

Ignore all the jealous "it's too revealing" comments, funny how misogyny can come from other women...

Jealous? 😂Misogyny? Are you usually a bit simple? Ironic as your comment is reductive and a bit sexist as if all women are jealous of other women's looks or display of skin 🤔.

OP asked if people like her outfit, she is getting resounding yes looks fab from most. A few people think it's not so stylish due to the psychedelic fabric and the cleavage / leg situation, these are women who would presumably wear a very different style to the OP, not everyone loves to have their bits play centre part, especially at a first date but each to their own.

To a pp, it's not so much about era, but area. In London and area the outfit would be seen as frumpy and unsophisticated whereas in other areas of the UK it might hit the spot. Ultimately Op should chose something she feels herself in, I hope her date goes really well.

Changemaname1 · 29/01/2023 17:05

You look incredible OP enjoy your date

smileladiesplease · 29/01/2023 17:40

Loving the London nonsense has made me laugh on a chilly day

Op you look sensational good luck with the date

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 29/01/2023 17:41

Because everybody in London is an absolute style icon.

Right.

grayhairdontcare · 29/01/2023 17:55

Honest opinion I think it's tits or leg never both at once.

smileladiesplease · 29/01/2023 18:02

Remus

I know the London style made me hoot. Reminds me of the Bridget Jones 'does nothing work outside of London!'

Yes you go north of Watford and it's all spray tans and Chavs. You go too south and it's clogs and overalls and don't even think of wales! Hilarious
