Why is a proper cool toned lipstick so hard to find these days?

Anything with a hint of warmth is useless on me and makes me look very 'odd' 🙄 Even MAC doesn't have anything suitable, they're all too warm or too nude.

I got a Bourjois one this morning which I think will be ok, properly pink.

Primark used to be fantastic for lip crayons which were fantastic pinky nudes but no more 🙄

Am I missing somewhere obvious I should be looking? Even Rimmel Asia is no good for me but Soft Hearted is.

How was Mac Mehr for you, OP? It is the perfect cool nude for me.

I've had a few successes with clinique too - there's a few cool toned chubby stucks (my fave is voluptuous violet for something light), and I got a set of their pop lipsticks which had some decent options too.

Have you tried any of the House of Colour lipsticks, they are at least "seasoned"

@MrsPelligrinoPetrichor I hear you with the cool toned/MAC impossibility. My daughter has inherited so many MAC lipsticks after failed purchases- I’ve banned myself from buying anymore.
I’m a cool toned blonde and struggle to find lipstick that suits, is cool toned but with enough colour to brighten my face. I’ve discovered a L’Oreal liquid lip in I, Savour, which is a lovely pink colour. It’s. matt finish but forgiving with a bit of balm under it.

I went to the Dior counter, not my usual price range but as a treat, and the pigmentation is amazing. I think of myself as needing cool reds. The women showed me Trafalgar that is orange/red. I objected but she tried it on me. Have never had so many compliments.

These are all "my lips but better" suggestions for someone who is white. Rimmel Airy Fairy and Vintage Pink are cool. As is Super Strawberry Clinique Chubby Stick. MAC usually have a bunch of options even though most of their colours are warm. Try Plumful, Syrup or Faux for something along these lines. I think the trick is realising that to look like a "nude" colour you'll still want a kind of pink, rather than something that looks brown/beige in the tube.

If you want a red, then MAC Russian Red is good. For a dark plum/purple, then MAC Rebel.

I wore my new Milani lippy today and the weird taste disappears after 2 mins and its staying power is pretty impressive 👍

Elf Hydrating Core Lip Shine in Delightful is very blue (ignore the online trying on widget, it seems to be way out). Has a slightly strange balm odour and not super long lasting, but hydrating, pretty and cheap as chips. Think it's stocked in some Boots so worth a look?

Ooh I just tried that Elf virtual try on widget with Delightful and I looked GAWJUS. Soon realised it includes a very flattering filter but I'm still tempted to buy!

I've got a couple of those hydrating core lip shines and I really like them (although they definitely don't last as long as a 'proper' lipstick). Definitely worth a shot if you look gawjus, am sure it's not just the filter 😆

ive had a lot of luck with KVD for cool shades and my best colour ever is Bauhau5 - discontinued now of course 🙄 - brighter than I’d usually choose - but looks like it was made for me.

I know you've said you've tried all the MACs but I'm so cool toned I look like an angry clown if I wear anything with any warmth, and MAC Coffee & Cigs or Bates Breath are the only colours I can wear without looking like a homicidal Ronald McDonald.
