I'm almost 40 years old, are these earrings too young for me? I always wear pearls and I would like to wear something different.

I think they are quite young, aimed at teenagers & young adults however if you like them then go for it.

ModeWeasel · 24/01/2023 19:51

They’re fine for any age a person who likes them imo

StrychnineInTheSandwiches · 24/01/2023 19:52

I think the whole 'please return to Tiffany's' thing was the start of the naffification (real word) of the brand. There are so many gorgeous stud earrings out there. For £240 you could do much better,

(But if you love the Tiffany ones get them!)

mrsjg · 24/01/2023 20:07

If you like them go for it - bugger what over people think. For context I'm 50 and plan to buy myself a Return to Tiffany necklace for my birthday next time I'm in London.

Perdita40 · 24/01/2023 20:50

I have these & I'm 48. Go for it, I think they are cute..

LittleBearPad · 24/01/2023 20:53

If the Tiffany brand is important there are nicer earrings than the Return to Tiffany line.

GlassBunion · 24/01/2023 21:08

They're a bit naff .

Costacoffeeplease · 24/01/2023 21:16

Yes. Naff

GoldenFarfalle · 24/01/2023 21:39

Why do you think they are naff? Thank you.

OP posts:
Greensleevevssnotnose · 24/01/2023 21:41

Naff nothing to do with age, blatant logos are cheap looking

Floralnomad · 24/01/2023 21:43

I think any age person could wear them but they are awful

Alvinne · 24/01/2023 21:49

I think they feel a bit passé and over branded, but I also think you should do what you want in life and not care what others think. So get them if you love them

PrincessOfWhales · 24/01/2023 21:54

I love them! Get them If you like them op

Iamthewombat · 24/01/2023 21:55

Younger people tend to like shouty labels. These are shouty ear labels, saying “HEY, HAVE YOU SEEN MY TIFFANY LOGOS?”. That’s why they are probably too young for you.

LCforlife · 24/01/2023 21:56

I agree with others, nothing to do with age at all but I think they're really tacky. Teens can get away with it but not for that price!

grayhairdontcare · 24/01/2023 22:08

They are tacky

AppleDumplingWithCustard · 24/01/2023 22:08

I wouldn’t pay £240 to advertise their brand for them. Then again I wouldn’t pay £240 for a pair of silver earrings. They’re taking the piss.

SweetSakura · 24/01/2023 22:10

I mean, they are very "branded" which isn't a style I would choose at any age, but if you like them then go for it

QueSyrahSyrah · 24/01/2023 22:12

Gosh do earrings have an age now? I'm nearly 40 and my day to day studs are a pair of round 'Tiffany of New York' stamped pair that I've had about 15 years.

They were a gift, and I probably wouldn't spend that amount on silver studs now, but I would never associate the look of earrings with an age range. If you like them and can afford them OP, go for it.

Overthebow · 24/01/2023 22:13

If they weren’t on the Tiffany website I would have thought they were cheap fake brands. Having the brand name stamped across like that just looks cheap and not at all classy. Nothing to do with age.

MidnightMeltdown · 24/01/2023 22:22

Yes. Personally, I think that these would look a bit tragic on anyone over 25.

Obviously, wear what you want if you like them, but if you're asking for opinions, I would say spend the money on something else.

MidnightMeltdown · 24/01/2023 22:24

GoldenFarfalle · 24/01/2023 21:39

Why do you think they are naff? Thank you.

It's the logo

TinaYouFatLard · 24/01/2023 22:43

I don’t hate them but I did buy them for my teen DD for Christmas.

Icedlatteplease · 24/01/2023 22:54

I was about to comment on how awful they are...
Then I remembered I wear a disney Pandora bracelet and I loves it. Wear what brings you joy

Ruthietuthie · 25/01/2023 02:44

If you like them, get them, of course.
However, the "Return to Tiffany's" thing is a little dated now. I remember desperately wanting something with that logo in around 2004. And being SO impressed by a boyfriend who had these as cuff-links.
It's also the "low end" mass-market bit of Tiffany's (this silver line, and this logo and shape) which has cheapened the brand. Something not so branded and not so ubiquitous would be more stylish.
