I'm almost 40 years old, are these earrings too young for me? I always wear pearls and I would like to wear something different.

I bought the earrings, they are lovely and sparkly, they bring me joy. those all who are talking about logos, well, I'm sure you have branded bags etc. ..

Those who are saying is naff, I guess depends of your style. I don't wear branded jackets, jumpers, bags or shoes..

Yes, in my 20's I wouldn't be wearing silver as I thought it was 'cheap look' but now I started to love silver again and I think it looks better on me than gold.
Thank you for all your answers, even the rude ones.

To be fair you asked if they were too young for you. So I think letting you know an 11 year old is wearing them is helpful?

I think it depends on the size of your earlobes. They look a bit "young" on the models ears for my liking but there's a pair with a blue one and a writing one and they fit fully on the models earlobes and look quite nice.

I don't think there should be an age limit on what people should/shouldn't wear.

However as a jeweller it massively offends me how much Tiffany are charging for something cheap to mass produce.

I wouldn’t ask on mumsnet, here they are very snobby about designer logos.
best forum to ask is the purse forum.

fwiw, I like them and think you should get them and wear them with joy

This is why Mumsnet is funny. People ask for opinions then are outraged when they receive them! Anyone who doesn’t like ostentatious logos is ‘snobby’ for example.

These are awful - quite possible the worst earring I’ve ever seen. Why do you want people to know you wear Tiffany and why waste so much money advertising for them. They have been designed for the masses who want a piece of Tiffany but can’t afford their diamonds. The whole ethic is very naff.

This is why I wouldn’t buy them - marketplace is flooded with fakes

Maybe don't ask people's opinions if that's not actually what you want?

You literally asked if they were too young for you! Why on earth did you ask if you’d bought them anyway?

I was lucky enough to be given 2 pieces of Tiffany 1 for my 18th and 1 for my 21st, from my brother. They are absolutely real and the quality is shocking! Despite being stored in their boxes. both have tarnished. If you like them buy them, but don't be swayed into thinking that they are any better quality because of the brand and price. I miss the old Links of London quality (circa 2006) quality.

Tiffany mark up on silver is absolutely massive.

You are basically paying for the brand, advertising, luxury shop in an expensive location, fancy packaging /bag and some of their jewellery comes with an aftercare package (eg cleaning) , but it doesn't mean the item itself is superior quality .

dazzlingdeborahrose · 27/01/2023 17:52

OP. wear what you want. If you like them buy them. You don't need the opinions of strangers on the internet (says she giving her opinion).
By the way, all silver tarnishes over time. You can get a silver polishing cloth which should buff it up nicely.

They are silver. They tarnish! There’s better products out there!

I bought the necklace/bracelet combo years ago in Tiffany in New York. I don’t wear them now though, they’re pretty old fashioned now and there’s tons of fakes out there. Enjoy your earrings…

I'm with the poster who said they wouldn't pay £240 to advertise a product! They are very expensive for silver - feels like the brand are deliberately taking the piss out of customers.

I agree, I can afford them but that's a ridiculous price for tiny silver earrings.
