I rarely take my make up off

Just that, I wear makeup most days but hardly ever cleanse it off, I do moisturise before reapplying in the morning.
Im told I’ve great skin with few wrinkles for my mid 50s,
any one else willing to admit to a slovenly life.

OP posts:
Squirrelsnut · 21/01/2023 18:42

I think the less you do the better your skin is because it's not being disturbed and then 'repaired'. My skin was fabulous after a week i__n bed with flu!
I do like feeling clean though, so I cleanse gently with something.

Greeneyegirl · 21/01/2023 18:42

@antipodeancanary because men snd children dont have hormones thst flucuate throughout a monthly cycle causing spots, oiliness, dryness, dullness etc. They stay level whilst we are on an endless rollercoaster.

Cocobutt · 21/01/2023 18:45

I’ve read some messed up stuff on here but this takes the biscuit!

I couldn’t bare to not take my make up off. I wouldn’t be able to sleep.

I love taking my make up off at the end of the day.

On the few occasions where I’ve got drunk and stayed out my face feels awful and my skin takes a couple of days to recover.

Lordofthebutterfloofs · 21/01/2023 18:47

Wait so let me get this straight

Makeup
Moisturiser
Makeup
Moisturiser

You seriously expect us to believe you never ever wash your face?

See attached, how the op thinks she looks versus how she actually looks 😂

All the people mentioning that make-up 'slips off' by the end of the day: what about sweat and oil and environmental airborne crap?

Wash your damn faces, you absolute delusional mingers

Oh my God, this made me howl Grin

Does your reapplication go on ok? I'm thinking it's just light makeup as opposed to eyeshadow, powder, etc etc

I honestly couldn't bear to not cleanse

no full face make up.

What makeup do you actually wear?

Aworldofmyown · 21/01/2023 18:53

I never used to. Right up until I was 40, lovely clear glowy skin despite my slovenly ways, and then my skin went to shit almost overnight!
I now double cleanse and use all manner of serums to keep it looking good!

newtowelsplease · 21/01/2023 18:55

I don't judge people who forget to take their make up off sometimes, or have health issues that prevent them taking care of themselves. But to make an active choice to be grubby and not wash? I can't help but judge. I'm hearing echos of my mother telling my brothers that even teenage boys need to wash their faces...

I judge people who wear so much makeup that it's still there to be rubbed all over a pillow 15 hours later 🤷‍♀️

GettingStuffed · 21/01/2023 18:55

At least remove your mascara, there's quite a few reports of people nearly going blind after mascara build up got under their eyelids and nearly went blind. I'd link the articles but they're pretty gross.

MyNameisMathilda · 21/01/2023 18:55

i think we need a photo....

TakeABite · 21/01/2023 18:57

@Lordofthebutterfloofs 😂

MsFogi · 21/01/2023 18:12

I am a member of this slovenly club - I wear full-face slap (foundation the lot) Mon-Fri and when I go out at the weekends and I never take it off before going to bed. As others have said I suspect a lot has already come off during the day. I also have all white bedding. I'll even go a step further and admit that at the weekend I will often just lick my finger and wipe the old eye make up from under my eye and there's enough left from the previous day for me to be presentable enough to do the Saturday/Sunday morning errands etc. I may be tempting fate here but people comment on what good skin I have and I never get spots.

😲 you go out in yesterday's make up!!!

dontgobaconmyheart · 21/01/2023 18:59

To be fair, those who don't overly bother with cleansing/makeup removal who also say they have good skin; surely that's because you just do have good skin that isn't blemish prone or reactive so you'd probably be fine either way or whatever you put on it.

If I don't properly remove makeup or even leave it on too long or wear it heavily then I get spots regardless of what I use and my skin looks rubbish.

Each to their own, It doesn't affect my life what another person does with their face. If i could get away with not doing it maybe I'd skip it very occasionally if I were exhausted but otherwise would still clean my face, it feels nice and I like going to bed clean because that also feels good to me.

Dramaalpacas · 21/01/2023 19:00

toomuchscreentime · 21/01/2023 16:50

Presumably you are washing your face in the shower etc so it is being cleaned at some point?

More power to you, I can't stand the feeling of it on my face by early evening, let alone bedtime!

How much are you wearing?! I can’t feel mine at all on my face

Phrenologistsfinger · 21/01/2023 19:00

Hollyhead · 21/01/2023 16:27

Yeah same here, also have really good skin!

Same!

SeaweedGarters · 21/01/2023 19:01

Like a PP, I'm loving this two fingers up to the beauty industry that has really hammered home the message that all our faces will shrivel and fall off if not carefully tended. Go your own slatternly way, OP!

Cocobutt · 21/01/2023 19:03

i think we need a photo....

I agree!

StrychnineInTheSandwiches · 21/01/2023 19:06

So this is where the cruddy brigade seek refuge from the 'I was my towels after every use' army. Interesting.

Well I actively enjoy cleaning my face at the end of the day. Love putting some lotions on. I'd feel like a grubby crudster going to bed without taking my slap off.

ComfortablyDazed · 21/01/2023 19:13

It’s one thing to ‘stick two fingers up at the beauty industry’. Great.

It’s another to sleep on manky pillowcases (because they are), and apply make-up on top of endless moisturise and make-up. Really - yes, that beloved word on here - grim.

If you care enough about your appearance to wear make-up in the first place - and even take pride in having great skin - why, oh why would you think applying make-up on top of moisturiser and old make-up possibly looks good……………………………? Confused

YellowAndGreenToBeSeen · 21/01/2023 19:14

I love the feeling of cleaning my skin.

Massaging on a cleanser and then holding a wrung out hot flannel - lovely! I’d do it even if wasn’t beneficial to my skin.

Leaving my make up on overnight would make my skin look like shit - more power to you if it doesn’t yours.

Rebel2023 · 21/01/2023 19:21

Nope, I'm full on skin routine
I went out and got drunk absolutely hammered and still did my routine when I got in. That was after 2 bottles of wine and 6 tequilas Grin
The second thing I asked for after a 5hr op was my skincare bag (first was a cup of tea)

nowaynohowz · 21/01/2023 19:24

I don't wear it anymore but when I did I didn't always wash it off and it always applied better the second day Shock

BigMandsTattooPortfolio · 21/01/2023 19:26

I’m the same as Rebel2023.

Even in the event of a nuclear war, I’ll be removing, cleansing & moisturising, I’m afraid.

BackT · 21/01/2023 19:27

I never take mine off either in the evening. I do wash my face every morning though.

I have good skin. If I actually do the whole make up off cleanse etc I find my skin gets too dry.

doadeer · 21/01/2023 19:31

If I ever wear make up my joy is taking it off with a cleaning balm, so satisfying!

But look each to their own 🤷‍♀️

I don't wash my hair every day, some people would find that gross.
