@happysoju thanks! I’m more worried about the marks at the time of wearing - eg. A drop of wine/water, sweating etc haha

Laska2Meryls · 16/01/2023 19:16

Oh Fk it. Flotsam print dress.. Its been in and out of my basket more times than the proverbial that wouldn't be acceptable to mention on MN..
Reduced to £75 today and so I pressed ' buy' ..
🤦‍♀️... I have gone barmy... I don't even like brown usually, but I saw it on a visit to Kilver court, ( full.price section) and lingered a little over it .. I can always send it back , can't I?

Thats why I am always scared to wear white! My wedding dress was silk but dark blue!!

alliscalm · 16/01/2023 19:17

No! I love that shop in Llandeilo. It’s brilliant and the staff are so nice, so helpful. I’ve bought loads there. In fact I bought my first Toast there (an indigo denim dress and an ikat dress). Very sad

Laska2Meryls · 16/01/2023 19:19

I think that its the sunny beach backdrop thats really selling me that Flotsam dress, though! 🤣.
.

Snowyowl78 · 16/01/2023 19:27

@Laska2Meryls probably I should accept that I am not the sort of person who can wear a yellow silk dress, sob.
im just imagining being somewhere posh covered in stains and marks haha

Stoic123 · 16/01/2023 19:33

@dudsville - Ha! The trials of a Toast sale.

I'm always a bit relieved when it's all over.

Theteapotsbrokenspout · 16/01/2023 19:40

I absolutely must not buy anything else, I have added up what I have spent at Toast in the last 6 weeks and it’s £££ Shock .
I don’t feel I have bought anything I won’t wear or use (I bought quite a bit of homeware), but I didn’t realise how much I had actually spent until today when I was checking my returns against my purchases.

Countmeout · 16/01/2023 19:43

I like that outfit @dudsville .
Thankfully I was busy and missed the flurry after the reductions.
My final final order came today, I ordered a pair of Birkenstocks . And got my refund from my last return.
I think I’m moving into Spring mode now - if only it wasn’t freezing here atm.

@Laska2Meryls the flotsam is a similar colour to this one, the colours aren’t really me but I absolutely love the shape and fit so I’m keeping it anyway

@dudsville I meant to say that your outfit looked great , loved the combo .. sort of 60s style in a good way ( but then 60s style is always great in my books).
@Countmeout re the fenugreek trousers.. I think that the photo was pretty much true to the colour, but of course I cant tell how it looks on your screen.. So I have tried to find some comparisons for you ( and failed!) . On the Toast site they look pear or lemongrass green to me and I was slightly disappointed that they were more yellow/ olive toned .. but if you have the new Francis pistachio stripe tee ( still on sale) they tone with the lighter colour of that.. but are a bit darker...definitely more green than the cumin tee colours Toast have been using recently. I looked in my spice rack and they are definitely darker than my ground fenugreek .. so if this is at all useful id say a yellow olive..They are a lovely colour, I think .. I'd wear with navy or black mostly or white , theyd go well with the lys shirt. And also with darker green and burgundy I think..Hope that is useful..

faustina · 16/01/2023 19:57

I think I've been quite ruthless this time. Some sales I keep things that might possibly be nice at some point in the future, but that future never seems to arrive and onto Ebay it goes the following year

btw, for anyone like me who was mentioning the small but has boobs shirt/jacket mis-sizing, the organic denim jacket is a really wonderful fit. Lots of reviews about how disappointingly big it was and how it didn't hang right etc etc. I ordered the next size up (8) to compare and it arrived today and looks completely different (not in a good way) but I think I will keep the 6. so if you're slightly bigger than me with the same usual sizing issues with anything that buttons up, I really recommend trying it when arrives back at Toast

faustina · 16/01/2023 19:59

oh yes, and @dudsville - you look amazing in that combination!

Laska2Meryls · 16/01/2023 20:13

Today I wore the lofty alpaca fairisle jumper that I won in the Toast Christmas wish list competition with the navy boat neck tee and an old Toast charcoal bamboo vest ( I have several of these plus the bamboo nighties they sold a few years ago -all bought in sales -and they have to be my most worn Toast items ) and also M&S cord navy leggings and Toast felt slippers when indoors.. We have had electric problems and have been without a lot of the weekend, but are currently at last running on a elec company generator, but it was pretty cold most of the day .
I have just changed into Uniqlo flannel pj bottoms and wearing with same Toast bamboo vest and the beetroot almond neck top from this last sale. Most of my wardrobe is Toast ...Wink

dudsville · 16/01/2023 21:49

Sounds like the perfect collection of lovely things to wrap up in @Laska2Meryls. The temp is dropping. Do you think the heating will be fixed soon?

Also@Laska2Meryls, I think it's fabulous you checked the colour against the one in your actual ground fenugreek!

I've just logged in to my Toast account to double check my spending. Thankfully i keep an annual tally starting afresh Jan 1st, and although I've tried a lot of things these last 2 weeks I've only kept the orange jumper and stack check dress.

Thanks for the outfit appreciation, I do like a nod to the mid century era. The pic was taken in the dark so you can't really tell it's the dark blue denim toast skirt.

happysoju · 17/01/2023 00:16

The kantha jacket arrived and it’s wonderful! Perfect jacket for in between seasons. Got a size M and I love the oversized fit (I’m usually a toast 10). Highly recommend it for anyone thinking about nabbing it in the sale.

ilovecherries · 17/01/2023 00:19

That’s just beautiful. Gorgeous on you.

Stravaig · 17/01/2023 06:41

@dudsville Velma is the epitome of cool!

I like the green checked dress, is it really a nightie? I would wear that combination out and about probably with wellies.

lordloveadog · 17/01/2023 06:43

@happysoju that is very nice on you

And I love the Velma outfit

dudsville · 17/01/2023 07:26

@happysoju, that's a perfect fit, and what a fabulous item! It's it very warm? The way you're wearing it here is sooo much then the way they did in the toast site.

@Stravaig , it was sold as a nightie, but the fabric is substantial. I'll attach a pic, and then one of how i altered it. It had a deep v neck which doesn't suit me.

Oh I love that! Not just practical but gorgeous pattern placement!
Definitely a dress. So clever and creative 😍

They will still stock current season in the left side but the right hand side archive shop is going.

dudsville · 17/01/2023 07:54

Thank you! I really enjoy that fabric match too.

I have a less successful but equally fun match from when i altered this massively oversized kin dress. I took out miles of fabric and decided not to put sleeves back in.
