Ok for sizing, a couple of 'basics' . These are the new Fenugreek and Navy linen balloon trousers. I have these already in the black a d space check in XS I would take a 12 (or 10 on good day and depending on cut ) in M&S jeans. So with Toast new sizing I went up one to S and id say that they are the same as the old XS .. I do think that the fenugreek ones are slightly bigger than the navy although both the same size..
The green tee is the new boat neck and i have gone up to XL but this tee comes up small and did last year also .. I would usually take a 14 in M&S .
Usually I have M or L in Toast tees but usually size up to L for shirts as I am busty and have wide shoulders I just think this tee is more fitted than their others the navy tee is the same one but one I bought last year .

I am keeping it all btw !! We are off for hopefully sunnier climes in our van in a few weeks and they will be going with me

Actually after measuring them against my other ones from last year. I have ordered the XS again in the Fenugreek trousers as they are much bigger.. The navy are the same measurements as the old XS only very slightly looser in the waist ( which can only be a good thing for holiday meals out!) ..
I hope that this doesn't mean too much inconsistency in sizing going forward.. The Fenugreek may have been made to the old specifications

Stoic123 · 16/01/2023 12:20

@TerrierOrTerror - In bought the tie neck in slate (full price) and love it so ordered the Pale Stone colour in the sale. Even at £55 and loving the style, I couldn't make the colour work for me. Agree that it's a bit odd.

lordloveadog · 16/01/2023 12:49

Am annoyed about the size changes. I wrote on the chat function and asked if the changes mean that the largest sizes - XL and 18 - are now smaller. And they said yes. So that means that Toast is just abandoning the customers who used to buy those sizes.

Laska2Meryls · 16/01/2023 12:56

So annoying @lordloveadog ... Definitely will be losing a lot of their customers then ... It is hard to find really stylish clothing in bigger sizes anyway

Laska2Meryls · 16/01/2023 13:41

I wish that t hey would recognise that a lot of us have a bust.. I have real problems as a 36f (or there abouts ) inverted triangle body shape fitting into their dresses and usually size up on their tops ... I have Toast clothes from XS to XL ..

lordloveadog · 16/01/2023 13:52

@Laska2Meryls yes, it's the bust in particular! The 36Hs need serious accommodation. For me the best Toast clothing is the stuff that allows for curves, but actually goes in around the waist so that trousers stay up.

The chat person said they would pass on my comments to the production team and I have also emailed, but I don't hold out much hope. Why not keep the largest sizes and call them XXL? They have an XXS now.

applecatchers36 · 16/01/2023 13:57

Yes agree Laska am sending back two tops from the sale.. the check tie neck shirt and the coral summer top because they do not seem cut for boobs it is hard if you have a small frame but breasts it does not work with Toast sizing. If you size up it swamps you but smaller sizes do not allow for boobs urggh!!

Countmeout · 16/01/2023 14:04

Are those fungereelk trousers the colour as on my screen and not the colour as seen on the Toast website @Laska2Meryls . I love the navy with them
Agree re the boat neck T. It was small fitting last year.I found myself between sizes. That blue/green one is a very good fit on you and a lovely colour.

Theteapotsbrokenspout · 16/01/2023 14:21

I have a similar problem @applecatchers36 30GG but narrow shoulders. Lots of issues with gaping shirts and tops that fit nicely round the bust but hang off my shoulders.

faustina · 16/01/2023 14:37

That is why I sent back the dark navy boat neck in a small! Too fitted on the bust, and yet all the other small tees are generally too big
I like those trousers very much @Laska2Meryls - lovely colours both
Does anyone have the blundstone lug boots? I am wondering about sizing

TerrierOrTerror · 16/01/2023 15:19

I also find the bust or lack of in Toast clothes an issue - 30F here. I have kept some dresses in an 8 and some couldn't get the 10 done up.

Stravaig · 16/01/2023 16:10

There seem be some further price drops in progress.

dudsville · 16/01/2023 16:13

😂@Stoic123 "though there is a raspberry check shirt that likes to make a regular appearance"!!!

I just nipped into a shop. They had a rail of new-size items. In their skirts i can be a 12 or a 14, never higher or lower unlike the variation i have in other items. They had one skirt that's same fabric and cut as I'm wearing in a 12. I tried a 14 and it was fine, could also have fit the 12 i think. I asked the sales assistant and she said those of us in the middle shouldn't expect any change, she said it's the people at either end who should expect the changes. She also said the problem is how we like things to fit. Their designers are choosing shapes that some are clearly happy with.

Stoic123 · 16/01/2023 16:21

@Shinyredbicycle - My words are duly eaten

Thanks @Stravaig

MsCFlower · 16/01/2023 16:37

Ah excellent. The Nasturtium tie fluid neck dress is reduced further which I had been hoping would be the case as I wore my green one yesterday and it felt so amazing on am so excited to have it in another colour.

Stoic123 · 16/01/2023 16:51

Picked up some mittens as reduced further and have been thinking about them for presents.

Some old archive stuff added - nearly went for the gingam linen dress but talked myself down.

faustina · 16/01/2023 17:10

I missed the cotton pique shirt in navy ( which wouldn't have fitted) but I did order the big padded coat just in case

railwaysleepervegpatch · 16/01/2023 17:11

As from next week. The llandeilo store is taking away its archive department and replacing it with menswear 😡

dudsville · 16/01/2023 17:44

Toast sale are weird. I get all excited in the lead up like a child waiting for Christmas, then it happens and that's really fun with trying all the stuff, then they reduce things and it starts to get tense - have I wasted £10+? Then they (expletive) add (expletive) stuff snd
Internally i think "oh no", when I see there's reductions or new stuff. I get over full but i can't stop now... so I'm trying the gignham linen dress - this sold out quickly in my size so we'll see. I'm also trying the denim utility, because, you know, i don't even know why anymore.

In other news, i think today i looked like Velma, but i was happy...

Crikey. I am reconsidering this now the price has dropped again. I’m not generally a wearer of silk, how do people find protecting it from spillage/moisture/sweat etc? And a light colour at that. I would love to wear this to a wedding or something but is it even practical?!

MiracleToast · 16/01/2023 18:05

@dudsville had to laugh - this is exactly what it’s like.

Just home to see reductions and think yikes quick quick. Have been waiting for the blue linen shirt and silk linen shirt to reduce so have ordered to try.

Snowyowl78 · 16/01/2023 18:17

Quite a few returns from the sale online looks like. A 10 in the Kaftan dress if anyone was waiting for it.

still haven’t dropped the price any more on that colour block cardigan. I was also waiting for the tie dye scarf and the tie dye tank to be reduced but doesn’t look like they are going to.

tempted by the velvet jacket which is heavily reduced but it’s still £95 and probably rather impractical.

ilovecherries · 16/01/2023 18:48

Does anyone have this? If so, would it work with a tee underneath? www.toa.st/products/painted-check-organic-poplin-pinafore-dress-brown-ochre

happysoju · 16/01/2023 19:04

@Snowyowl78 Baking powder is your friend! I wear vintage silk shirts on the daily, and anytime I see an oil stain I put baking powder on it and overnight it disappears. With other stains like sweat, I just dunk them in silk friendly detergent and let it soak for half an hour before rinsing (although I try to do this sparingly). All my tops are still going strong after many years.

Anyway, I love that silk dress. Though I'm finding it hard to justify the price, given I can score vintage silk pieces from ebay at a fraction of the cost...

Still waiting on the padded kantha jacket- should be arriving this week. Fingers crossed buying oversized was the right call😬
