I'm eyeing up the stripe wool cotton knitted tank. I'm not sure I suit a tank having tried it last summer in the sale in a few sizes and not got on with it. I think the colours and design of this one are easier to wear... but I'm wondering how I'll tell if I suit a tank. Is it just that I'm not used to the look?

I’ve just got back from a weekend in Somerset and we called into Kilver Court for a quick look. There was nothing I wanted (well apart from some lovely Kate Sheridan bags - but I’m trying not to get distracted from my savings goal to buy a tan Chloe Marcie Mini in the summer, it’s big purchase so I have to stay focused..,).

i did try a couple of dresses in the full price normal shop though. Firstly the navy Franca dress - gorgeous fabric and lovely dress but the sizing just didn’t work. The 12 was a good fit everywhere except the bust where it was too tight. The 14 was too big overall and it looked frumpy and shapeless.

I did buy this lovely dress though which I’m really pleased with. It’s a similar shape to the Luna dress but has neck ties (which I will keep untied). I think I’ll be able to wear it most of the year so should be a good investment. I had a £100 gift card from Christmas so it ‘only’ cost £95…!

Re: sizing - my usual Toast dress size is a 12 and I bought this dress in a Medium so I’m none the wiser on the new sizing 🤷‍♀️

@Saurus72 looks lovely, I also tried that on and I have book marked it for the sale. I liked that it was slightly shorter. what will you wear with it foot/socks/tights wise in the spring/summer?

I thought that one was no different size wise. The gathered river line one I also tried and had to have a small, which is silly since I am a 14.

I am worried though that loads of the new stuff is already selling out and I suspect it won’t go into a sale until the summer. I was looking back at what I bought in the sale last March and it was jumpers and a jacket so I suspect the new stuff will remain at full price which has spoiled all my plans!

@Countmeout , you obviously suit a tank! It was because of yours that i tried that same tank in 3 sizes, but none suited. I'm a pear but i have a waist (my hip to chest ratio is too skewed to be hourglass), maybe i need it to be more v necked.

That dress is really pretty and it looks great on you@Saurus72 . I respect your savings goal for a specific purchase!

@Snowyowl78 i reveal the singer sale similarly, but they did then restock a lot of stuff so there's always the winter sale!

I have broken my toast fast by purchasing snowy's dress upthread. I'm looking foward to wearing it to meet a friend for coffee Sunday. That aside, I've been really enjoying wearing what i have. These clothes are such a delight to wear. Today i had toast cords, with a toast tee and toast cardi, with nice socks and bostons and just felt so easy and cosy for a Monday.

@dudsville Ha thanks! I have one in grey and I’ve used it so much since I bought it 8 years ago - for less than half the price it currently is! It’s a fab bag - you don’t have to baby it, fits a lot in and it still looks great. I’ve had the tan one on my wish list since last year but have freaked myself out by how expensive it is. But I think this is the year…maybe…

There’s a barely used one on eBay for £399 if that’s any help. It shows the purchase paperwork from Harrods.

@sno, I don't have those socks but I have been admiring them. I wore some glitter ankle socks with the Fracap Ola sandals last year before it got warmer and I think these socks would suit that look with the ruffle looking top.

@Noodle421 , I only really started wearing them in October 2022 when I went to Lisbon, even though I had bought them in early summer. I bought the tan ones in my usual size and i did find that my little toe nail occassionally caught between the straps on the leather - very marginally, but it put me off. Hence I started wearing them with ankle socks and a Toast dress which I think has worn them in a bit and softened the leather so that I am hopeful they will get better wear this summer.

They are confortable sole lightly padded and not a hard flat bit of leather that you sometimes get with these style of sandal.

I like them so much that I am tempted by the black ones for late spring/early summer.

@ToastCosILoveIt Thanks for the feedback. They’ve also just come out in a lovely olive colour. I’m seriously tempted !! I loved my trip to Lisbon. It’s such a beautiful city.

Yes, Lisbon was fab, a lot of my summer wardrobe is Toast and the old favourite dresses always come out, plus the trusty sandals including the Ola and the Birkenstocks that they do. I also bought the Fracap Eve sandals when they did them in a mid blue but they really catch on the toe to the point that I barely wear them.
