Smaugmum those socks look lovely.

I've just purchased another two pairs of knee high socks from JL - got 2 pairs for Christmas and don't know what I did without them Grin

I’m loving hearing all your de-bobbling techniques and thank you countmeout for checking your device. I think I will stay with finger picking and comb until I’m persuaded otherwise. I’ve had a big wardrobe sort out and have invested in a few lovely woollens including a couple of toasties to fill a few gaps. I want to start looking after them properly

More sale, how fabulous! There are some beautiful things and I'm also very excited to see how posters get on with, for example, that kaftan!

I have a very crappy electric debobler - but I just grab a drink, put on some music on and sit at the table where I can lay the item flat. I tend to do it at the end of the season.

So in this sale I'm also trying the indigo easy, this will be my 4th of this style if it's a keeper. I love how easy they are to wear and they instantly elevate an outfit. I'm also trying the landscape check shirt - i love the dress but think the shape wouldn't suit me. I'm not sure the top will either but the fabric looks pretty so I'd like to try it. I'm trying the conker cord a line skirt and barrel leg trousers - I don't imagine I would keep both and the trousers would be the most obvious choice for me. The balloon trousers in coffee are in the bag and I will be surprised if i don't like them. And then a few older sale items - I'm also trying the navy collared half sleeve sweater because of thread fomo - it does look like a good staple. And the linen cotton twill in stone and leaf. I'm going to have to sit down and honestly look at my spending this year and get a grip.

Are you keeping to your usual easy shirt size with this heavier fabric ? I also have the lighter weight blue and Lys in this style, like you, they seem to tick many boxes - comfortable, the right amount of bum coverage, casual but fairly stylish… very easy to wear . I’d love if they brought out one in ecru

@dudsville you thinking is exactly the same as mine regarding the landscape dress and top. I absolutely love the fabric. It is even better in real life. I wish the dress wasn't quite so square with huge gathers as I would definitely buy it.

dudsville · 30/12/2022 21:38

@Noodle421 I'm embarrassed to say I have three different sizes! The 1st one was the lys and it's my usual size - it's very billowy fabric and it works well but i could have sized down. I have a cord one from the last sale that is 1 size down and thicker fabric and I think this is a good fit as the material doesn't "billow" so it would have been too much fabric. I have a blue check one also from the last sale that was only available 2 sizes down, i think this is ok,it's a little neater and definitely wouldn't have worked in a thicker fabric (it's the thinnest fabric of them all). So, with this indigo i opted for 1 size down like the cord. Did you get your usual size? I didn't try the pale blue so i don't know what the fabric was like.

dudsville · 30/12/2022 21:41

Have you ordered the landscape top @MsCFlower or try it in the store? I do wonder what it will be like. I don't suit really boxy stuff but the sleeves and fabric are so nice, might be one for layering if i could master that skill!

@dudsville I have resisted as I know it won't suit me sadly and will end up going back. The fabric and colours are s amazing though. It might be worth you trying it.

www.toa.st/collections/sale/products/gathered-sleeve-wool-cotton-top-coffee-bean-melange

anyone have these? I bought both to try but they are a bit heavy and slightly scratchy, think I will prob send back I favour of the half sleeve sweaters. I think these will work well as with the v neck and slightly lighter fabric they won’t be as hot!

Laska2Meryls · 31/12/2022 12:20

The Tretorn Tetrang boots that I ordered for DH in 41 arrived and they are a bit big, but hes keeping them ... Mine haven't arrived yet but I think the 5 may be too big.. If a smaller size comes back in stock ill order them ...
Almond top in green is oddly beige.. looks not far off the postal bag colour( but its a dim old day here, ).. Not sure if I will keep or not..

Theteapotsbrokenspout · 31/12/2022 13:05

@Laska2Meryls I'm waiting for the Almond top in green, doesn't sound too hopeful. I'm definitely sending back the beetroot, lovely top but the colour really doesn't suit me.

Stoic123 · 31/12/2022 13:28

Another sale package arrived.

  • Return - Almond neck in Beetroot - lovely but colour also didn't suit and shape a bit boxy on me.
  • Keep- Round Collar Tee in Dark Moss. Fabulous - one for the Hamptons wardrobe. I'm going to stalk returns in other colours in my size but doubt they'll be many.
  • Keep - Tretorns. Sized down (never been a 5 in my life) and they are great. Can't wait to take them for a walk along the riverbank.
  • Dither - Alix in Dusty Khaki- really nice colour that could be useful. Not a must have but may regret returning. Going to hold on and see how much I keep of the 'new styles added' before final decision.

Its definitely a sandy fawn and I wouldn't usually say it was my colour, but I put it on and it seems to have stayed on ! Lovely quality and the cut works well on me..

Laska2Meryls · 31/12/2022 13:42

Sort of a ripe Conference Pear colour rather than bright pear..

ilovecherries · 31/12/2022 14:11

I have a love/hate relationship with toast denim. I find I simply can’t wear it without washing it at least twice, which then takes the gloss off it being new. But I can’t stand the way it stains upholstery/cushions/anything else it touches in the wardrobe and worst if all, my fingernails. Ido have quite a few things but I tend to buy on eBay, and then I’d be washing them anyway before use. But I do wish they’d set the dye better.

neveradullmoment99 · 31/12/2022 14:37

Well waiting on a couple of things that should have arrived by now.
A handless mug for my dh and the barrel leg dungarees. Only they have not been sent to my local delivery office. They are not far, just about 10 minutes in the car but they are just sat there at the wrong office and noone seems to be delivering them.
Ive contacted Toast and they are certain they will be delivered today. They were meant to come yesterday and Im not convinced. Anyone have any experience of this? Suggestions?
I've never had a parcel delivered to that delivery office.

dudsville · 31/12/2022 14:47

They do have dye-rich denim, don't they @ilovecherries I missed the chat about this upthread, but personally I don't like the smell and feel of new unwashed clothes so I don't mind missing the fresh out of the bag wear!

I hope your things arrive @neveradullmoment99 that's really frustrating when it's so near.

I don't have the shipping email yet of my last purchases.

I'm lounging today in the stack check trousers and a couple of toast tees. Very conto. Anyone else wearing toast today?

dudsville · 31/12/2022 14:48

Comfortable, not conto

Stoic123 · 31/12/2022 14:55

@dudsville - I am also lounging in Toast (the loopback jersey trousers).

Noeggsontoast · 31/12/2022 15:06

Me too - Toast Ashley jeans and that snuggly colour block cardigan with a non-Toast simple white T-shirt, that is a proper white. I can't be doing with this chalk colour that Toast are offering. It makes me look ill.

faustina · 31/12/2022 15:11

@Stoic123 - I'm also dithering about my alixes. They're the kind of thing I may end up living in all summer, but they they aren't something I immediately love.
Those forest boots are beckoning at me, but I won't buy them because I have my new solovair dealer boots (so comfortable) and am holding out for some of the new Blundstone lug boots

Stoic123 · 31/12/2022 15:26

@faustina - yes, same sentiments here about the Alix.

Btw - did end up buying a Donegal Knitwear jumper in the end (went for Ocean Blue) so thanks for the recommendation.

faustina · 31/12/2022 15:39

@Stoic123 - oh did you? All the blues they did were glorious colours weren't they. Hope you like it!

Stoic123 · 31/12/2022 15:54

@faustina - really like it. Colour is gorgeous.

A little longer than ideal so, if I order another one (navy is an option in future), I'd ask for a customised length like you did.

TerrierOrTerror · 31/12/2022 15:57

Missed the delivery of my two sale dresses this morning. Hoping to pick them up on Tuesday as a "back to work" treat following the festive break.
