I bought some napkins, the Pique Jersey shirt, and decided to add the stone green Almond Neck top to my order to see if I like that colour.
Really like the Embroidered Kaftan dress but out of my budget I think.

Stoic123 · 30/12/2022 17:24

Ordered the Indigo Easy shirt (2 sizes to try - usual Toast and one below that), the pleated needlecord dress and Skinny Silk Tie Scarf in blue.

So tempted by embroidered kaftan dress but still expensive - does anyone have this?

Countmeout · 30/12/2022 17:29

Annoyingly they keep adding more things 🤦‍♀️

I've ordered the grey Donegal sweater in a medium ( haven't got round to knitting one) and the Kaftan dress in an 8 .
Very unlike me but f*ck it I'm going off piste!

The BFL sweater arrived eventually
Nice but a little thin and not a nice shade of fawn ( sorry sheep)
The Kaftan dress will be love or hate, let's see !

Countmeout · 30/12/2022 17:31

I tried the Indigo easy shirt in store when I was in London @Stoic123 . I have the poplin version, found it a bit heavy which maybe is not a bad thing for winter. Fit is very similar.

ive ordered the peaks print which I already have in a bag but it’s still in its returns period! Also trying the border silk dress which I said I wouldn’t unless under £200! Will have to be pretty special.

AFingerofFudge · 30/12/2022 17:47

I've ordered the charcoal boxy cardigan and the cream coloured needlecord dress. Might be too big.

Stoic123 · 30/12/2022 17:53

Ok- gone back in for the Embroidered Kaftan Dress and Collared Loop Back Jersey Sweatshirt.

Also bought a sketchbook a a present for a friend (Toast sketchbooks always nice - recommend).

Step away from the keyboard Stoic!!

High five to the fellow napkin enthusiast! I bought some more too!

SmaugMum · 30/12/2022 18:08

I also bought three pairs of the slubby knee-high socks, to wear under my new denim dresses.

I managed to miss them in the archive sale so I ordered those first!

OftenOrange · 30/12/2022 18:22

I went to a local Toast to return a dress and noticed that the rails had far fewer sweaters, then on returning home I saw here that new things were added.
Just ordered the Firewood Donegal which I tried before Christmas and loved, as well as a seersucker nightdress( still ridiculously expensive but it’s my birthday next week ) and the check wool and cotton dress . The dress isn’t my usual silhouette but I’m a roll here……

Countmeout · 30/12/2022 18:25

I ordered socks too. Love the comfort of the socks.
And the hairy tank in green that someone had on in Kirstie’s Handmade Christmas. It was already on my radar and I thought she had styled it beautifully.

My jumper arrived today. I had ordered Small (usually get a medium in knitwear but it was oos). Luckily it’s an easy fit and will keep. I think I’m going to return the cream Francis T as I had forgotten how it looks as if someone has worn it before me even when brand spanking new. I ordered a cashmere comb which was reduced. I have a battery thing which isn’t very efficient. Will see if the comb is any better.

Crossing everything now in case of any cancellations as it took me ages to get through checkout.

Some socks for me and I also went for the navy half collared sweater as I think this will end up a good staple piece through a variety of seasons. I also have a wardrobe gap for a plain navy sweater. Hoping it will be worn as much as the navy boiled wool balloon sleeved cardigan, which is my no.1 best Toast buy ever.

I'm tempted by the embroidered Kaftan dress, but think it will be too much fabric for me and besides I bought the cream shirt which is the same embroidery pattern.

I also continue to dither over the embroidered skirt as I think it won't sit flat over the tummy due to the pleats.

Maybe another sale I'll give them a go.

MsCFlower · 30/12/2022 18:33

Quite a lot of new items have been added. Glad to say including the green tie neck dress I have been wanting

Noodle421 · 30/12/2022 19:35

Hi, please can I ask which battery operated device you use for your wool care and I will avoid purchasing it. I’m debating whether to buy the Steamery pilo 2 rechargeable shaver as I’ve heard it’s less hard work than using a comb on a large surface area. I also find I have to drag on the wool quite hard with a comb to remove bobbles and I’m worried about stretching my jumpers.

Noodle421 · 30/12/2022 19:37

My message was meant for Countmeout ! Apologies, I’m quite new to to navigating my way around Mumsnet

Noodle421 · 30/12/2022 19:46

I’ve ordered the Avery check scarf- lovely colours but not entirely sure it’s me - will know as soon as I open the package. Also, the striped Tencel layering top in caramel ( baby -poo my friend calls it ) colours. I love it. Just ordered the indigo shirt I’ve had my eye on for ages . I’ve ordered a 12 instead of my usual 10 as I fancied it as a layering ‘painter’s smock’ type garment with sleeved rolled up over a Breton etc. It’s quite a heavy duty fabric compared to the two other easy tops I have ( tried on in shop ages ago) - will use as outerwear when spring arrives. I hope my strategy works and that it’s not too baggy and shapeless on me in this size. In the meantime, I’m keeping my focus entirely on looking forward to ‘Spring Arriving’ to help keep spirits lifted. Got a few weeks/months to get out of the way first !

faustina · 30/12/2022 20:05

I have the Steamery debobbler and I don't really rate it - can't remember which version it is.

Please post pics of your embroidered kaftan so I can live vicariously through you! It's still quite expensive and I just don't wear enough dresses to justify it.

I nearly bought a couple of things but am trying to be super selective. My alixes arrived today and I'm waiting to try them on in a proper light

Thank you for your comment regarding the Steamery de-bobbler. I do hear mixed reviews. Pilo 2 is the latest model - claims to have double the number of blades of pilo 1. I will stick to comb unless I hear some amazing feedback

Countmeout · 30/12/2022 20:16

Mine is some cheap debobbler @Noodle421 . Can’t remember where I bought it. Sorry that’s not much use. It’s a lilac colour . Looking at pictures of debobblers to try to identify it they all look much of a muchness. The only Toast jumper I’ve really had to use it on is the Mira so far. It bobbles dreadfully but I wear it a lot.

faustina · 30/12/2022 20:16

@Noodle421 - I just pick mine off with my fingers. I find it quite satisfying!

Countmeout · 30/12/2022 20:17

Yes much less bobbles on other sweaters, fingers enough for those.
