I'm delighted to hear about the half-sleeved collar sweater. I've ordered the XS and am a 8/10 in real sizes. (Ordered on the 27th but not despatched yet....)

Countmeout · 29/12/2022 15:51

Love that dress @Theteapotsbrokenspout .
Happy birthday @AFingerofFudge
at least you’ve scratched the itch @dudsville .

Right - if it helps anyone, the boatneck tee is nice but in a small quite clingy which I didn't want, so that's going back. The neat jumper in chocolate is also going back - it's a lovely weight and really warm, but the colour just does nothing for me.

The graphic yoke chocolate and blue jumper I almost kept in a S (medium too big) but I just don't think I'd wear it - possibly because chocolate.

The round collar tee in carbon is LOVELY. It's actually quite big in a S and if I hadn't lost the will to live today, juggling all the returns I might have ordered the XS to try, but I will keep the S. If they had other colours I like I would order another! Just waiting for my slate alixes to arrive tomorrow now

I hadn't thought of keeping the garland up but now you mention it, it looks quite nice and not very christmas specific so I might do that!

Noeggsontoast · 29/12/2022 16:52

@AFingerofFudge happy birthday!
@Theteapotsbrokenspout love that dress!
@Stoic123 I like the sound of that half collared sweater, off to take a look.

I'm still waiting for my sale items to arrive but tracking days will be delivered tomorrow. After my OH came down with Covid I succumbed to it on Xmas Eve, so hope I feel up to trying things on when my parcel arrives.

MsCFlower · 29/12/2022 22:28

Hi all, I was wondering if anyone has the cotton linen dogtooth trousers in the black/olive. I am unsure whether to order the 14 or 16. Does anyone have these in 14,16,18 who could measure the waist and the hips for me please. I would be very grateful . Many thanks.

Jennyfromthetoiletblock · 29/12/2022 23:51

Bit of a lurker here, but have a qu about a delivery. I ordered a pair of pjs, but have only received the trousers. Are Toast pretty good about returning/refunding where half the pj set is missing?
(Double checked my order and it was definitely bought as a pair of pyjamas.)
Thank you!

SirSidneyRuffDiamond · 30/12/2022 09:14

Morning all
Occasional poster here but delurking for some sizing advice on the collared half-sleeve sweater. I'm an 8-10 normally; should I get an XS or an S?

Also will there be more items added to the sale or further reductions on sale items? I cannot remember from last year.

Stoic123 · 30/12/2022 09:19

@Jennyfromthetoiletblock - they sent me the wrong thing before and refunded on return easily enough. Never had a missing item before but people on this thread have had missing belts hunted down successfully in the past.

Toast Customer Service went through a bad patch last year but things seem ok at the moment - can normally get through on phone easily enough

Good luck and let us know how you get on.

ToastCosILoveIt · 30/12/2022 09:38

Sales update from me: quite a bit going back. I ordered the pleated cords for DH in ginger and in navy and in a medium they were both too small (he is not big). The camp collar seesucker shirt for him was also slightly tight across the shoulders in the medium too and has gone back and is now sold out too. He has kept the organic cotton striped tee in a medium and the fly away checked shirt in a medium. Oh, and the wool cotton houndstooth trousers in a medium for him were too big: it seems men's sizing is as eratic as the sizing for women 😀

I have kept the tie neck raised cotton shirt in a 12 (I am a 12) which is absolutely lovely, and the indigo denim workwear dress which I thought long and hard about as i have a few Toast denim dresses but it is lovely. The Tretorn boots in green went back - I already have the black ones which I love but the green ones had a little too much of the wellie vibe for me. I am sure I would have kept them if I hadn't already got the black ones. Finally, I kept the cluster print organic PJs but sent back the Lam check organic cotton dress: as reviews had said, it was tight on the bust for me in a 10 but would have been too big everywhere else in the 12.

The stripe ticking bedding (which was the first sales order for me) has not arrived yet although the above all came yesterday.

I am still hovering over the site but think I am done now.

Jennyfromthetoiletblock · 30/12/2022 09:48

Thank you @Stoic123
Spoke to a lovely lady in customer services. She’s going to try to track down the missing top, or arrange a refund.
everything else I bought is lovely and keeping almost all of it.

SmaugMum · 30/12/2022 09:57

Inspired by @ToastCosILoveIt , here is my sales update. As per usual, nothing is going back! (combination of lethargy and sheer determination to make do you avoid our Post Office queues!)

  • Aegean bath towels = a smart addition to my bathroom, great for camping as they are highly absorbent and not too bulky and I can keep them looking their best with industrial quantities of Vanish white
  • denim workwear dress = love this; the length is great for me (nearly 5’9”), it’s not too voluminous and will make an all-year-round dress as it will work with brogues and my Fracap boots as well as Saltwater sandals and trainers.
  • broderie anglaise dress = beautifully simple but will go away till spring as the fabric feels too light for now. I bought it in the navy and I actually sized up from a 10 to a 12 having scoured the reviews; I’m glad I did as the shoulders are very neat (I’m an inverted triangle so my shoulders are wider than my hips). There is volume in the skirt but not ridiculously so and I shan’t care if I look like a galleon in full sail as I don’t have a full-length mirror!
  • Jude trousers in moss check = straight out of the brown paper sack and straight on for the day! The fabric is glorious and the check works with my Toast fair isle jumpers. I’m delighted to have finally got my hands on these after having my order cancelled in the last sale.
  • enamel plates in coral = these work well with my collection of Le Creuset plates and bowls in Volcanic and Cherry; I reserve the Le Creuset for myself and the (clumsy) children can make do with the enamel! 😅
Nanasueathome · 30/12/2022 10:26

Just been on chat with Toast and they’ve located the tie dye dress for me
all ordered now.
Have to say the the customer service was excellent
Have given me next day delivery too at no extra cost

Noeggsontoast · 30/12/2022 11:03

@SirSidneyRuffDiamond I haven't got the jumper you are interested in but I am same size as you and consistently take the smallest size option on all Toast knitwear, so for that sweater I would buy the XS. Knitwear sizing is my only consistent sizing at Toast and buy without worry, everything else varies between the 8 or the 6 and then sometimes 6 too big and no further options. I guess it does also depend on how you like to wear your knitwear.

Theteapotsbrokenspout · 30/12/2022 11:09

My last sale items arrived, the Emma in coffee bean is lovely, the Almond neck top is a great shape but I don't think the beetroot is a good colour for me, perhaps I should have ordered the stone green but it looks quite an odd colour on my screen.
DH is away but the long sleeve polo looks lovely and hopefully the size will be right for him. Shame about the erratic sizing on your men's items @ToastCosILoveIt .

@SmaugMum I dithered over ordering the Aegean towels and, of course, now they're sold out.

I have received a late gift of some toast vouchers and I'm really tempted by the Pinafore aprons, having seen one being worn on Instagram by irishgirlinglasgow , I can't decide which one though.

Also hoping for some extra bits to be added to the sale and maybe more reductions. I know I ordered on the 30th Dec last year and again in January Blush .

SmaugMum · 30/12/2022 12:32

Checking back in to log the arrival of my denim utility dress. The jury is out on this one. I’ve put it away for a few hours and may need to try as I sized up from a 10 to a 12, on the advice of a number of reviews, but there may be too much fabric. Also, I know I will definitely resemble a Smurf after one wear as the indigo has already stained the white Toast label blue. I don’t like washing new clothes before I wear them (am I unusual in this?) as they no longer feel ‘new’.

I do love the image of the real-life model here wearing the dress; she makes it look so elegant, I think.

Toastie warm in deep winter.
AFingerofFudge · 30/12/2022 12:54

The Ollie raised check shirt has been the unsung hero of the sale for me. It feels and looks beautiful and I love how it looks on me. Bargain at £55! (Well, bargain for Toast!)

Toastie warm in deep winter.
Theteapotsbrokenspout · 30/12/2022 13:09

@SmaugMum I thought that was a lovely dress when I saw it on the website and a relative bargain in the sale. I have too many denim dresses but was tempted by the linen version but I haven't succumbed yet.
I know what you mean about washing before wear, so the dye transfer is a shame. It does look like a style that might take some getting used to, be interested to hear how you get on trying it on again.

Noeggsontoast · 30/12/2022 14:09

I've managed to summon up the energy to open and try on my Toast delivery.

Firstly the men's spruce fair isle sweater for OH was a big hit and true to size, a definite keeper.

I bought the non-sale indigo denim shirt dress and it's just perfect in the smaller size, the moment I put it on I knew it is one of those pieces I'm hardly going to want to take off. A very straight cut dress but still gives shape, light and soft and not too heavy which is often my complaint with denim dresses. Also roomy enough for a nice contrast tee or polo neck underneath. Can add a belt too for different styling.

Finally I ordered the colour block wool cardigan. Had hardly taken it out of the bag when my OH had caught a glimpse and he immediately started to describe how I could style it and what I could wear with it! So it immediately caught his eye! Knew it was a keeper then, he's quite good at picking things for me and stuff I'd never usually try. Anyway it's lovely and chunky and warm though cotton and looks great with the dress, but then will go with all of my other Toast trousers and skirts too, so is going to be another really well worn piece. Still spendy even in the sale but it's a thing of beauty, and a good investment piece for me.

So delighted with this little order and am wearing the dress and cardigan already. It's like wearing a lovely big hug and they both make me happy.

I don't think there'll be anything else I get in the sale but might be tempted if a few other things are added so shall patiently watch and wait.

@Noeggsontoast , I really, really like that cardigan but I think it’s had a bad press on here previously? How is the sizing?

I just received this dress and also sized up based on reviews.
I feel completely overwhelmed by the acreage of dark denim, it’s too long and I’m not up for trying to get it shortened as the hem is complicated .
Also the drape and asymmetry isn’t working on me , it just looks as if it’s wonky.
The model looks great in it doesn’t she !

Noeggsontoast · 30/12/2022 15:36

@SmaugMum I took XS which is my normal toast size in knitwear when an XS exists. Cuffs slightly long but I always turn back sweater cuffs. It is a chunky cardigan so for that reason some might find it too big/bulky. But I certainly don't think it's a larger than usual sizing. It fastens perfectly with no excess and is neat not relaxed. I did see some reviews where people had sized down also.

HeyHeyer · 30/12/2022 15:39

That Spruce fair isle sweater is lovely - I looked at it myself before realising it was menswear section! (I have short arms so men's tops rarely fit me sadly)

Does anyone know how long orders usually take to move from 'unfulfilled' status?

AFingerofFudge · 30/12/2022 16:43

New Styles!

Countmeout · 30/12/2022 16:57

Yes new stuff added to sale. Managed to get a pair of Gabi cords.

AmethystMoonShine · 30/12/2022 17:13

Ordered the indigo easy shirt in an 8. Hoped this would go in the sale. Sized down as the white & light blue ones I tried in 10 and 12 were too large.
