It's really strange about the ticking bed linen @MsCFlower I just went and checked mine to make sure I’d got the right size, but it’s definitely a king.

Hopefully there will be more items added to the sale over the coming days, maybe the other things will appear for you.

@Theteapotsbrokenspout I wonder if it was because they put the same price for all sizes in the secret sale and I ordered the King.... The single is cheaper now.

Theteapotsbrokenspout · 23/12/2022 10:22

@MsCFlower That's all I can think as well, lucky we ordered in the secret sale then.

ToastCosILoveIt · 23/12/2022 11:02

Welcome @MsCFlower , you willl not regret the loop trousers. I have them in a small (I am a 12 in real life) and they are a lovely comfy and flattering fit. I too bought the set of ticking bedding - my first set of bedding from Toast despite shopping with them for 20 years.

Stravaig · 23/12/2022 11:32

New Toast sale strategy clearly hasn't been working, some of these items are years old, and aren't any cheaper than the previous times on sale!

If I remember correctly, old Toast used to discount the current seasons by 50% as standard, and anything from the previous year(s) was 80% off in an archive sale. This sale offering looks quite stingy to a long-time customer, especially as the full prices have dramatically increased too.

Anyway, just window shopping for me.
Nice hearing about all the Ticking Stripe purchases!

@Stravaig . I remember the good old days of the Archive sale so well. There were just fabulous reductions.

HI all. I am new here. I bought a ticking sheet in the secret sale and it reappeared £13 more expensive. I also bought the Raffia Embroidered Shirt which I have loved since seeing it on someone last summer, I bought a black boat neck T and the loop back Jersey trousers in charcoal. Other items I have been hoping for were not reduced.

😲😲😲That disgusting about the increase in price!

neveradullmoment99 · 23/12/2022 12:55

TheChattyRat · 23/12/2022 09:29

I think that part Jersey part check dress only ever went down to 95 - what price is it now?
I dont think they will shift items if they dont keep discounting them though - as there is a lot of stuff that keeps popping back up in the sale!

@dudsville hope that dress is everything you wish for!

So I bought a full set of ticking duvet, sheet and pillow cases after all the positive reviews on here. I also bought some khaki dart trousers. And the last thing I have my eye on is the twill blue and hickory patterned dress. Hoping it may go down in price a bit more. Oh I also like the stack trousers...but should rein it in soon.

115
But I'm sure it was highly reduced just before sale ended in summer. Like down to 75

faustina · 23/12/2022 13:15

It didn't occur to me to check about the prices but you're right! I bought two double flat ticking sheets in the secret sale and have just looked at the confirmation email and I paid £32 for each. They're now £42 I think!

I hope you all love your bedlinen when it arrives as much as I do

Theteapotsbrokenspout · 23/12/2022 13:27

I paid £67.50 for my Moss Ashley jeans from JL last year, I see they’re £80 in the Toast sale.

Countmeout · 23/12/2022 13:31

We really miss John Lewis stocking Toast.

Yes, I really liked being able to order from JL, their discounts were usually much better.

AFingerofFudge · 23/12/2022 13:35

My bed linen has arrived, and I love it! Does anyone put theirs in the tumble drier even though it says do not tumble dry???

faustina · 23/12/2022 13:43

@AFingerofFudge - I have never not tumble dried my bedlinen when the weather wasn't good enough for line drying. It's quite thick cotton too - would take forever to hang indoors to dry!

SmaugMum · 23/12/2022 14:14

All my sale items are on their way; no cancellations!

In the end, I ordered:

workwear denim dress (the mushroom in pocket one)
broderie anglaise dress in slate
Jude trousers in moss check (these got cancelled in the last sale)
draped denim utility dress (so delighted this was in the sale as I’ve been eyeing it up for months)
2 x Aegean bath towels (I absolutely love Toast towels and always buy them in the sales)
more coral enamel plates and bowls
denim A-line shorter dress (this is for MotherSmaug)

Thank goodness for the PostPass as I’ve done a few separate orders. In mitigation, we always make use of the brown paper packaging bags as my six-year-old uses them for drawing or I wrap presents in them and my lovely postie is always happy with the tip I leave!

Nanasueathome · 23/12/2022 16:33

I think Kindred members get free p&p anyway
is this still the case?

Nanasueathome · 23/12/2022 16:36

Mmmmmm
see the cobweb brush at £75 is not included in the sale

Yes, we do, which is why I tend to do several orders rather than going through everything laboriously and then run the risk of things selling out!

faustina · 23/12/2022 16:50

@Nanasueathome - that's a shame - I was eyeing it up. It was still quite expensive for something so ..niche though. £40 something wasn't it?

AmethystMoonShine · 23/12/2022 17:07

I’d planned the cobweb brush too! It was £49 I think in the secret sale.
I have a lot of cobwebs…..

TerrierOrTerror · 23/12/2022 20:48

I have bought two check dresses to try - the Olive & Green and the Plum. I tried the former on a few months ago and did really like it, but I couldn't remember what size I'd tried and couldn't justify multiple sizes.

dudsville · 23/12/2022 21:41

I ordered the barrel leg denim dungarees. They arrived yesterday but I'm not sure about them. They're very comfy and the denim is nice and the straps won't fall down, but they're so loose around the waist and there's wriggle room in the hips - I've ordered a smaller size to try and I'm looking online for ideas on how dungarees should fit! Any ideas?

HeyHeyer · 23/12/2022 22:22

I've got my eye on the plum dress but it's showing as full price for me at the moment. I'd love to hear what the fit is like when anyone receives it. Especially in comparison to any of the older check/shirt dresses.

I have about 10 Toast dresses that I rarely wear so I'm hoping to 'swap' them for ones I will (pop them on ebay to fund a couple of new ones!)

Saurus72 · 23/12/2022 23:11

@HeyHeyer I tried the plum check dress a few months ago and it was my usual Toast dress size (12) when IRL I’m a curvy size 14. It’s lovely quality, I hope you like it once you can order it at the sale price!

MiracleToast · 24/12/2022 00:26

Are we expecting more to be added to the sale after Christmas? Is it likely anything from current season will go in? Despite stalking the sales over the past few years I haven’t quite grasped their formula.

Theteapotsbrokenspout · 24/12/2022 10:19

How does everyone achieve effortless layering? I just tried on a selection of my toast clothes and concluded that I just look like a bag lady when I try to layer Confused, perhaps you have to be tall and graceful, not short like me.

I thought I looked quite smart the other day when I was wearing one of my bandanas and my daughter asked me why I was wearing a scarf indoors Blush.
