Ohhh Faberge eggs, my goodness yes! Why have I never thought of that??

Oh yes! I saw the Royal family’s eggs at the Faberge exhibition at the V&A last year and definitely have my eye on one in particular…!

Wondering if we’ll see any of the Royal family at engagements in the next few days? For their own sakes, I kind of hope not….😳

frugalkitty · 05/01/2023 20:36

Well I think I volunteered to drive for the Italian Crown Jewels heist originally, but I can do it here too. Obviously any parking ticket fines we incur will have to be spilt, and as I was the one to mention faberge eggs, I bagsie first dibs. I mean, we could do the palace and Windsor castle in one day, we'd just need a long weekend to for the others in and get some sightseeing done. If Sandringham needs a hit we could use my In laws as a base (no one would ever associate me with being there willingly, perfect alibi....wink wink)

Ooh I made a bullet point.....how fancy!

TangledWebOfDeception · 05/01/2023 21:02

Anne out on a visit today.

I like that gold reef knot brooch.
Good colours, Anne can often be a bit muted.
Lots of shades there.

Yes I think it works very well.

These plans all sound very reasonable to me. Count me in.

Anne out on a visit today.

The colours all seem to co-ordinate but something about the length of the skirt and height of the boots taken together looks odd to me.

justasking111 · 05/01/2023 22:29

The jacket is way too big for her. I think she dressed in the dark . Glad she's feeling better though.

Love the brooch

Eaumyword · 05/01/2023 22:33

Yes. Good Grief re today!😱

Anyway, I'm still in for the shhh jewels. I can do a green coat disguise, I quite like green. I'm a scaredy cat driver and not built for speed any more so I could be the hider of the stash. But would you trust me?

Anne's outfit - I want to like it but yes, feel the skirt is odd with the boots. Needed to be a longer skirt I think.

TangledWebOfDeception · 05/01/2023 22:44

The jacket will be big to allow for a very thick jumper or gilet underneath, I expect.

RomainingCalm · 05/01/2023 22:46

Happy to help with any heist. I am pretty good at old-fashioned map reading if that helps. Will need to go shopping for a green coat but that can be arranged.

Love the colours of Anne's outfit and the brooch but it does have a hint of 'Enid Blyton school uniform' about it.

paradyning · 05/01/2023 22:49

I am very happy Mathilde cracked out a mantilla. Shame on Sofia. I can only guess either
a) as dowager she felt she shouldn't or
b) it wasn't a state event

Hope M didn't feel overdressed

KillingMeDeftly · 05/01/2023 22:55

That's an awful outfit on Anne. She looks happy enough though!

TangledWebOfDeception · 05/01/2023 23:00

I really like the colours, very nicely coordinated without looking too matcha/formulaic. The outfit itself is meh. However I do like to see Anne wearing that sort of thing once in a while - I find it rather endearing, and very refreshing somehow. I’d probably wear a similar outfit myself, tbh, except not with the flippy skirt. My jackets also often have to be a little bit on the roomy side, which I hate, as otherwise my boobs don’t fit. 🙄🙄

paradyning · 05/01/2023 23:01

After reading some nonsense about a frostbitten penis, illustrated with this pic , it struck me how medieval in structure Kate's dress was. Never realised before

KillingMeDeftly · 05/01/2023 23:34

Doesn't look medieval to me. Maybe "Hollywood medieval". My friend who does reenactment work may disagree!

KillingMeDeftly · 05/01/2023 23:35

Also, she and Pippa really loved the St Tropez back then!

In what way is that dress mediaeval? 🤔

Pallisers · 06/01/2023 00:27

I love these threads for the style and the jewels. And also because I don't have to hear any of the usual criticism and pulling down of people who wear them. Can we agree to keep it a gossip/criticism free zone and focus on the clothes etc.

I know it is hard but every other thread on MN is about the Windsor family and it is really really boring and dispiriting.

MarshaMelrose · 06/01/2023 02:55

I like Anne dressed like that. It's just very her. She's got this skirt. She's got these boots. Hmm? Agh, they'll be fine together.

paradyning · 06/01/2023 06:46

I don't know. Just struck me. Maybe the skirt and slant of waist captured by that angle. And you're right, Hollywood medieval 😂 or ladybird book medieval

Spudlet · 06/01/2023 08:04

I can join in with the heist! I’m getting a new big car on Monday so I can offer a big boot for transporting any overflow stolen goods that won’t fit into the getaway car. The only green coat I have is a wax jacket, though it’s been extensively patched, so maybe I could go in disguise as KC? 😂

I like those colours on Anne. The skirt and the boots don’t quite work but the thing is that you know she gives not a minuscule shit, so actually they do work…

Agree! I like discussing the clothes and the occasional bit of history but the MN obsession (not on these threads, I might add) with Harry's book is getting a bit much. Let's keep this thread a Spare-free zone!
