It’s from Copenhagen Cartel, if I’m not mistaken. I like the hat and the shirt worn over the swimsuit, too.

Maybe not a bun but possibly a Queen Cake

Or a (Swedish) Princess Cake! Oh it’s yummy, I want some now...

Speaking of Swedish princesses (after whom the aforementioned cake was named) and beautiful/elegant royal women, I do think the Danish princess Ingeborg and her Swedish daughters were all very striking.

And another of them all together.

Lovely pictures. Princess Martha was the mother of King Harald of Norway. Princess Astrid became Queen of the Belgians and died young. Princess Margaret married a Danish prince, and one of her sons married a Bowes-Lyon.

TangledWebofMincemeatDeception · 21/12/2022 23:04

Yes, Astrid tragically died very young. Märtha also died before her time, in her fifties (of cancer, I think?).

SenecaFallsRedux · 21/12/2022 23:08

Martha is also the princess who had a close relationship with President Roosevelt while she and her children were in exile in Washington during the war.

Speaking of which, I've mentioned it before, but if the series Atlantic Crossing is available for viewing in your area, I highly recommend it.

TangledWebofMincemeatDeception · 21/12/2022 23:11

Yes and I think she worked in a boutique (or a milliner’s). Funny story about her selling a hat that another princess had taken off to try on another one, because a customer came in and took a liking to it! Needs must...

I can see Martha's resemblance to King Harald. Presumably he named his daughter for his mother.

KillingMeDeftly · 21/12/2022 23:24

Genetics are weird because I can also see a resemblance between the princess on the left (Margareta?) and EBGM's daughter Joséphine.

TangledWebofMincemeatDeception · 21/12/2022 23:24

Yes I saw that too, @KillingMeDeftly!

TangledWebofMincemeatDeception · 21/12/2022 23:26

And yes, that’s Margaretha.

Kate has been named as the new Colonel of the ☘️Irish Guards, taking over the role from William. He now becomes Colonel of the Welsh Guards, taking over the role from Charles.
Camilla is now Colonel of the Grenadier Guards, replacing the shamed Duke of York.

We all know why Kate was given the ☘️Irish Guards position, rather than that of the Grenadier Guards. Obviously, Kate's vastly extensive green coat collection was a major influence in her becoming Colonel of the ☘️Irish Guards.

Maireas · 22/12/2022 07:07

That's reasonable, @AdaColeman , although who knows how many green coats are enough? She's probably on speed dial to Alexander McQueen and Catherine Walker this very morning.

@AdaColeman 😂** You are bold !

Great card from the Dutch RF! I love it that they've gone for full-on glamour, though to me the dog rather spoils the effect!

Glad to hear that Kate's gigantic green coat collection is going to come in handy.

OR....

She knew she'd get the gig eventually so she's been stocking up. Grin

There are suggestions on a not-very-reliable Twitter thread that given her new role Kate might attend Trooping of the Colour in military uniform.

Do any of the amazing experts on here know whether that's likely to be the case?

AdaColeman · 22/12/2022 11:23

Kate is said to be allergic to horses, so I don't think we will see her mounted at the Trooping of the Colour, to take place in mid June next year.

Hughsrunning · 22/12/2022 11:23

Hope you don't mind if I post occasionally - I really enjoy royal style.

I think Kate is slightly allergic to horses, isn't she? So she won't be on horseback at the Trooping of the colour but she might be there anyway.

Hughsrunning · 22/12/2022 11:25

Ah crosspost!

I thought the Duty royals looked great in that photo. Amalia has had a hard term, given the security concerns.

Hughsrunning · 22/12/2022 11:25

Dutch royals, I mean
