I'm hoping others will join me to discuss liberty advent calendar. In line with other threads 0700 earliest for the days contents?

@supadupapupascupa Thank you

SpongeBobJudgeyPants · 05/12/2022 13:39

@notanicepersonapparently re the Aveda, I have thick, curly, collar length (longer when wet) hair. I use a more generous amount, so a 'dollop' in my palm with about a 3cm radius. Other hair types are of course available Xmas Grin

notanicepersonapparently · 05/12/2022 14:26

@SpongeBobJudgeyPants
Thank you. I’m going to start small but my shoulder length dry hair might need benefit from more.

SpongeBobJudgeyPants · 05/12/2022 14:34

@notanicepersonapparently maybe. Suggested by someone yesterday, on here I think, to try it out, as an experiment, on a staying in day, when you aren't necessarily having to look your best!

ofCourseYouHave · 05/12/2022 14:43

The face oil will definitely be something I buy more of, it made my skin look lovely.
Today's item, I agree, is a bit meh.

AnneShirleysNewDress · 05/12/2022 16:36

@notanicepersonapparently I have fine shoulder length hair which is coloured. I use a pea sized amount on the mid length and ends only.

TriciaMcMillan · 05/12/2022 17:19

Yeah, I'm meh for 2 on today and yesterday.

WonkyFeelings · 05/12/2022 17:23

I wasn’t thrilled when I saw the leave in conditioner today but then I tried it and my hair looks fantastic so I’m counting it as a win.

imp2007 · 05/12/2022 17:54

Todays isn't massively exciting but will definitely get used - how's everyone getting on with the hair oil? I've got super fine hair not braved trying it yet worried it will make it look greasy?

I have super fine hair and don't get on with most hair products. I tried it over the weekend, unfortunately before I went out for the evening and my hair ended up in a greasy sticky mess. It's a shame, but turned out exactly as I expected it to and I should know better Grin

@Cockle1234 oh no 🙈 that's exactly what I had visions of!!' A colleague was complaining of dry hair the other day I think I'll take it into work tomoro and gift it on!! Smells lovely though!!

purplelicious · 05/12/2022 19:16

Imp2007 - I don't usually get on with hair oils, I've tried a few and like you, they make my hair greasy. I've got fine hair but quite a lot of it, it's highlighted and coloured so can be quite dry. I have used the hair oil twice now and I have to say, it's fab. I did only use two pumps and I've got a long bob. Towel dried hair first and rubbed oil into hands and was careful not to apply to near the roots. Surprised how quickly hair absorbed it. Hair not greasy whatsoever and I feel my hair is keeping its style better and for longer and doesn't look as dry but definitely not greasy. Perhaps try it in a day you're not going anywhere, to be on safe side.

Polpette · 05/12/2022 19:33

It's been wonderful so far. A really strong start.

At least today's underwhelming offering is out of the way now and there's only good things ahead (I think! Have forgotten what's coming despite researching).

It's a great product but I have four full sized unused tubes as they turn up in so many other beauty giveaways. Definitely not luxury.

...I've not fully caught up with the thread yet. Has anyone appeared to tell us off for moaning about the contents yet? There's always someone that pops up to tell us we should be grateful and there are bigger things to worry about. Looks around nervously...

WeAreBorg · 05/12/2022 20:55

Yeah todays was very small but I’ll try a huge dollop tomorrow and layer it with the hair oil and hope I don’t look too Snape.

I still can’t get over the candle, possibly never will

Sneakyblinders · 05/12/2022 22:18

Accidentally just rubbed the hair oil into my face...

In my defence it's a defence it's quite dark - lit only by the Christmas tree. New beauty regime going well! Hope doesn't set me back too much 😂

imp2007 · 05/12/2022 22:29

Thanks @purplelicious maybe I'll give it a go on the weekend - will have time to rewash if it's a disaster - I do colour and heat style my hair so maybe it might do it some good! @Sneakyblinders that's hilarious!!!!

imp2007 · 05/12/2022 22:30

Just used the fave oil again it's really lovely think it could be my fave so far although I did really like day one too.

Orangeslemon · 05/12/2022 22:52

@imp2007 That’s a lovely thing to do, I’d really appreciate it if I were your colleague!

I’m another who got a full size of the Aveda in last year’s M&S advent calendar, so it does feel a bit underwhelming to get a mini in a much more expensive calendar, but it’s a great product so glad to have this for travel at least!

Cinnamonandcoal · 05/12/2022 22:58

I'm going to join you on here as my husband got me the calendar as a surprise. I'd decided not to get one this year because money, but he's gone and got probably the most expensive of them all. Still enjoying it now I have it!
Happy with all the products so far, including the candle which I lit today whilst WFH.
Face oil looks good but I already have one I love so will use that up first.
Love the hair oil. Mine is very thick and curly so it can take all the oils and leave in conditioners no problem.

Talisin · 06/12/2022 05:40

Well todays item is rather nice - on me anyway!

MostDefinitelynotanAthlete · 06/12/2022 06:47

Today is one of the (many) reasons I bought this calendar so happy here. It won't be a favourite but will definitely get used.

petitebleu · 06/12/2022 07:02

Today's is lovely. I'm hoping it lasts a while on me.

Isabelle70 · 06/12/2022 07:14

Love today's, great perfume much better than the Jo Malone I picked up in duty free.

ofCourseYouHave · 06/12/2022 07:22

LOVE today's perfume. Much better than yesterday's gift

WeAreBorg · 06/12/2022 07:31

Leave in conditioner on!
Hair oil in!
Lovely new perfume sprayed profusely!
face oil/venn/eye cream on!

im going to stun everyone as I swish into work today wearing the entire calendar!
