Liberty advent calendar opening thread 2022

I'm hoping others will join me to discuss liberty advent calendar. In line with other threads 0700 earliest for the days contents?

@fitflopqueen No, day 3 was supposed to be the Miracle Oil pictured upthread. Day 4 is the tomato leaf-scented candle.

Just opened day 4 , beautiful candle , smells lovely , haven't lit it yet though !

Having vowed to use these lovely things (and not just put them away for another day as usual) I have lit my candle in the bedroom and retired back to bed with mumsnet and a cup of tea.

I might be in the minority but I really don’t like the smell of the candle. I’ve not lit it yet but it’s so strong and perfumy, I’m disappointed. Everything else has been great so far.

I think I'd have preferred a diptyque one like in previous years but this one does have a powerful scent for a small candle. I like it.

Candle is a bit much for first thing in the morning. Maybe I’ll be more up for lighting it later, but I don’t like tomatoes much anyway so don’t convinced by it

Hmm. A summer scented candle that’s out of stock on their website. Does anyone else think this might be the flogging of dead stock?

Todays is definitely an unusual choice for an advent - would have preferred a Christmassy scent. I'll either save this one for Summer or gift it on.

I’ve loved days 1-3 but this candle is not the right scent for a) this time of the morning or b) this time of year or c) maybe any time ever as I’ve never thought, ooooh I wish my house smelled like tomatoes

Yeah I agree today is a bit of a flop! I quite like tomato leaf smell but not into this.

Yeah, I'm not taken with this one. It doesn't smell bad but isn't something I really want to smell. Except maybe when I am in the garden looking after tomato plants in summer.

I liked the face oil last night but I agree the candle is disappointing. Would have preferred a more seasonal scent.

Hmm I quite like the smell actually, surprised myself. Agree it's an odd choice for winter tho

OK, so this time it’s me with the odd door - I got a perfume today, not a candle.

I love the candle - I grow tomatoes mainly for that hit of scent as I go into the greenhouse. If anyone wants to swap theirs for yesterday's facial oil do let me know!

I'm not keen on the tomato candle either. Was happy enough with past 3 days, but this is a dud. Definitely think that they are shifting old stock here.

Not a winter scent but I love the smell of tomato plants. Never thought I'd smell it in a candle though.

The smell of tomato plants is one of my absolute faves, so this is a win for me. But definitely a summer smell which is weird for the calendar.

I guess I'm an outlier as I'm happy with the candle. Much prefer it to hair oil or face oil.

I used the miracle oil last night and woke up with soft skin and only a tiny bit of tightness feeling round the eyes. Will try with a layer of nivea over the top next time. Today, as I’m not going out, I’ve used the oil with a little of the Ven cream and it feels heavenly, if a bit tacky/sticky so far.

I love the candle. Definitely not festive, but I'm sick of festive scents already!

Back on track, have the oil now too. I rather like the candle scent and will use later in the month.

I like the candle scent, and it definitely smells better burning than sniffing it. Even my kids all commented on how lovely it smells
