Thread for anyone who has the Cult Beauty 2022 advent calendar and would like to discuss contents.

In line with the waifs and strays thread I suggest no earlier than 7am for discussing that days contents?

I'm away for part of the month so might not be terribly active but we were cutting it fine for starting a thread!

One more sleep 🎄

I’ve had a play around with the Roglow highlighter and actually I’m quite impressed with it. Solid packaging, and a really nice shimmer that I’m more likely to use on eyes than checks. Thumbs up!

I was thinking eyes too. Good to know it works there.

OchonAgusOchonOh · 19/12/2022 09:17

I'm happy with today's too. I've tried the bum bum before but not this one.

Zoetrope1 · 19/12/2022 09:35

Love the smell of this one!

I’m glad this one isn’t called Bum Bum because the name makes me cringe 😄

My running total is now up to £713.74

AllTheBlackCoffee · 20/12/2022 07:40

I really like today's brand and use their toner daily after I got it in last year's AC so I was quite excited about this product. I've used it this morning and can't say it's made me glow but my skin does feel nice and it'll certainly get used.

Also used the LM primer today for the first time and think I like it. I don't usually bother and don't wear foundation all that often anyway nowadays but it has made my makeup feel nice. No pilling either which I know can be a problem.

Squishmymallow · 20/12/2022 07:54

Like @AllTheBlackCoffee I’ve tried and loved the toner from this brand already so I’m keen to give today’s product a try! Seems a good size to give it a proper go and I love the packaging!!

OchonAgusOchonOh · 20/12/2022 09:28

I've never come across this brand before but it is very pretty. It will definitely get used.

Zoetrope1 · 20/12/2022 09:49

im on my second bottle of this, it’s a decent niacinamide serum. I don’t love fragrances in my skincare though, this one has quite a nice watermelon scent.

Jellycats4life · 20/12/2022 10:34

Seems that this product can be used in several ways? Serum/primer/highlighter? I think I’m too old to pull off the Korean “glass skin” look 😄

chloechloe · 20/12/2022 10:57

I’m quite excited about this, sounds like a really versatile product. I’m sure I have a bottle of this brand’s toner in my stash too which I should go and dig out giving that a few of you are praising it.

(In other news I succumbed yesterday to the CB end of year GWP. I was pleased that the minimum purchase was quite low but then annoyingly not everything in the basket classed as a qualifying spend so I had to keep adding more. Oops.)

PanicAtTheBigTesco · 20/12/2022 21:33

I've had an eye cream from this brand which I liked (as much as you can like an eye cream Grin) but not tried this. Have given it a go tonight so will see if I start to look more glowy!

Pleased with today's. I've never tried this brand before but I like a good serum. While it's not full size (30ml), it's big enough to give it a decent go.

Jellycats4life · 21/12/2022 09:22

Another serum?!

Thanks to this calendar I think I have enough serums to last me well into 2025 😄

Squishmymallow · 21/12/2022 09:26

I’ve used and enjoyed Dr Dennis Gross daily peel sachets before so I’m hoping that today’s serum is just as good! I can’t believe we’re on day 21 already…I’m going to miss my morning CB treat next week!!

PanicAtTheBigTesco · 21/12/2022 09:29

Another serum?! Was my initial thought too but actually I do love a good serum so I am happy overall, it will just get stashed away for a while!

Agree that today's was a bit boring but it'll get used and is a new brand for me so happy to give it a go.

Also can't believe we're getting close to the end. Have really enjoyed it this year and got lots of great new serum products to try out.

OchonAgusOchonOh · 21/12/2022 11:24

I'm really enjoying it too. I would have preferred few hair masks and a couple of cleansers, so long as they're not ones that require foaming. We haven't had a cleanser yet. I'm happy with lots of serums.

Zoetrope1 · 21/12/2022 11:35

I don’t mind all the serums - they do different things and I enjoy trying them out

I think the AC designers got the memo that we were sick to death of all the cleansers last year/in 2020 so have done a full 180 and given us none this year!

The Murad exfoliating cleanser has been ubiquitous in calendars this year, but I do wish there had been a couple of great cleansers in my calendars. 2022 seems to be the year of exfoliators and highlighters.

🤣 It must be so hard to curate a calendar! As much as I would have liked more make up, it’s obviously not a crowd pleaser considering we all have different skin tones. It actually hadn’t occurred to me that we haven’t had any cleansers!

Today is a bit of a strange one. Has anyone tried it before? Only 2 reviews on CB.

Dr Levy Pollution Shield 5PF, 30ml full size, £79

Harnessing a Nobel Prize-winning discovery – that ageing is reversible – Dr. Levy's skin care is phenomenal; proven to revitalise the dermal stem cells that create essential collagen for smoother, firmer, stronger skin. Now turning his talents to the realm of pollution protection - alike to UV rays, pollution can cause damage to skin - the Pollution Shield 5PF is the world's first all-in-one, full-spectrum pollution screen proven to fight against the five key pollutions: urban dust and microscopic particles; indoor volatile chemicals; atmospheric gases; infrared rays and finally, blue light from screens.

Designed to prevent premature ageing by protecting your skin from pollution, Dr. LEVY Switzerland's innovative Pollution Shield 5PF defends against the five types of pollution in four ways: anti-adherence, anti-penetration, anti-oxidation and anti-ageing.

Within minutes, the invisible formula effectively repels physical pollution while visibly softening the skin texture under a silky-soft veil. The skin, under its protective screen, is bathed in protective probiotics, antioxidants and moisture-capturing oils to support your skin's natural barrier. It's also supercharged with co-enzyme Q10 and vitamins C and E to help fortify depleted skin from within, promoting a more youthful finish. Suitable for all gender, skin types and ethnicities, the vegan-friendly formula prevents up to 24% oxdiation from pollutant attacks and improves the skin's moisture defenses by up to 30%. Within days, oxidation falls up to 40% while the skin's lipidic integrity improves to provide up to 42% more moisture protection. Expect less visible fine lines and firmer, more supple skin.

How to use:

Use after finishing your skin care routine (after the cream and/or sunscreen) and before makeup.

Apply one pearl into the palm of the hand and apply uniformly over the face and all around the eyes. Add a second pump to cover the neck and top of the décolletage.

I've not tried it and never heard of the brand! Sounds interesting though so I'll give it a whirl...

New one on me too. Never sure I believe the wild claims that some skincare products make, but will give it a try. Always nice to try something a bit unusual that I probably (definitely!) wouldn't buy as a stand-alone product.

OchonAgusOchonOh · 22/12/2022 09:11

So presumably it's a morning one? Claims seem a bit ott. I'm also surprised I haven't heard anything about the Nobel prize for the reversal of aging...
