Thread for anyone who has the Cult Beauty 2022 advent calendar and would like to discuss contents.

In line with the waifs and strays thread I suggest no earlier than 7am for discussing that days contents?

I'm away for part of the month so might not be terribly active but we were cutting it fine for starting a thread!

One more sleep 🎄

Thanks for all the tips. I like the idea of a retinol sandwich 🥪 Sill also have a look at the ordinary for some lower doses.

Jellycats4life · 13/12/2022 11:10

Tbh I found The Ordinary’s retinols to be unpleasant to use in the thick oils. La Roche Posay do a cream formula retinol called Redermic that’s much nicer, although a bit more expensive (£25ish) and 0.3% retinol.

I'm interested to see what you all get today, I obviously opened mine at the weekend so know what is in mine but then yesterday saw a comment on TikTok from someone saying 'tomorrow is x', and it doesn't match up with what I have! Similar brand names so think there's been a mix whilst filling them for one of us but intrigued to know which is correct.

A Ren eye cream for me.

I got the REN eye cream today too. I’m not generally a big fan of eye creams (very sensitive eyes) but I do have some dark circles so this may be worth a try!

PanicAtTheBigTesco · 14/12/2022 09:23

Yes I got REN eye cream too!

REN eye cream too. At least it doesn't smell like vomit, which several of the REN creams seem to do.

I still have loads of eye creams in my stash but it will get used eventually.

AllTheBlackCoffee · 14/12/2022 19:14

REN eye cream for me too. Like @Squishmymallow I have v sensitive skin on my eyes so need to be careful what I put on them but I will give this a go and see how I fare with it.

Delighted with day 15! I’m not usually super excited by hair care days but I think it’s the fact we got 3 products, all quite different that made me happy. Particularly looking forward to trying the K18

I’m loving day 15! So exciting to get three products and all are things I’m keen to try. I almost bought these vitamins a few weeks ago but held off because I knew they were in here somewhere…!

Same. Hair masks are normally a drawer of disappointment for me but the k18 is a leave in product and the oil sounds interesting too. Probably wouldn't have been thrilled with the vitamins on their own but they're fine in a mixed drawer.

AllTheBlackCoffee · 15/12/2022 09:30

Also excited to get three products in one drawer today. Hair stuff is not normally my thing but will all get used to some degree at some point.

PanicAtTheBigTesco · 15/12/2022 13:10

I'm another who wouldn't normally be too keen on a day full of hair products but I'm happy to give these a go. I'm home now and looking forward to opening my calendar again tomorrow, as fun as it was opening 6 drawers on Saturday I've missed the excitement each morning!

Love today's. I knew it was in the AD, but didn't realise it was so soon. I have several CT palettes but had only seen photos of this one. It's gorgeous.

Chuffed with today's too, looks really pretty. I'm out for lunch today so will try it out then but I have a few CT bits and have always been impressed so have high hopes for this too.

Squishmymallow · 16/12/2022 08:10

I love Charlotte Tilbury eyeshadows so this is a great day for me! Like @Housewife2010 i have several CT palettes but I haven’t had this one before. It looks beautiful- Very wearable and should suit most people I think. Very happy to have this in time for the weekend!

Jellycats4life · 16/12/2022 09:18

It’s a very pretty palette but I had to stop wearing eyeshadow long before I hit 40 due to saggy eyelids. Oh, and lack of opportunities to get dressed up! So I’m in two minds: keep it, because I can, or give it to my SIL for Christmas because she loves CT make up.

OchonAgusOchonOh · 16/12/2022 09:24

I love it too. Not that I need any more eyeshadow. I reckon I have every colour known to mankind and I rurally wear it. But that's a minor detail.

AllTheBlackCoffee · 16/12/2022 10:47

Just had a peek (not inside) and I think the festive drawer of joy is actually Sunday's offering. Tomorrow's drawer is quite small so doubt it will contain more than one item. Sunday's drawer is quite shallow but long and flat. We're away Saturday night so I'm opening both tomorrow regardless and hoping for lots of sparkly makeup I can wear on my night out.

You're right. I just had a feel in the weekend's drawers. - I looked away. Sunday will be the drawer of plenty.

Jellycats4life · 16/12/2022 13:16

I guess the bonanza drawer is the “one week to go” drawer and not “the Saturday before Christmas” then 😄

Housewife2010 · 16/12/2022 13:25

For Christmas 2020 & 2021 the multiple make up drawer was on a Saturday.

PanicAtTheBigTesco · 17/12/2022 08:17

Didn't have chance to comment yesterday as I had to be glammed you and out the house for 8am for my works Xmas do but I was very happy! Especially as I opened it before I did my make up so was able to use it, it was gorgeous.

Today is the first real meh day for me, can't be doing with things I have to leave in my hair!

OP posts:
Squishmymallow · 17/12/2022 08:23

My hair needs all the help it can get so I’ll definitely use this (although I admit I often don’t leave these types of mask on for the full 5-10mins suggested as I get too bored waiting…!!). Tomorrows drawer looks promisingly big!

AllTheBlackCoffee · 17/12/2022 08:34

Also very meh about today's hair mask, not something I really use and have tonnes of unopened ones in the drawer. I have opened tomorrow's drawer though and, while I won't give any spoilers, it certainly didn't disappoint. Looking forward to trying some new products today.
