@MarshaMelrose yes! I didn’t want to say it in case I’d imagined that bit... 🤣

MarshaMelrose · 03/12/2022 23:32

Hahaha, Tangled. That's funny. Yes, indeed.
Charlotte would have that off his head and on her own!!! To demonstrate a bulletpoint list of everything he's doing wrong! She'll be pointing out all his errors to George throughout the ceremony whilst telling him what he'll need to do at his crowning. How he hasnt wopped her one so far, I don't know. St George. 😇

AdaColeman · 04/12/2022 00:32

The St Edward's Crown has just been removed from The Tower, and taken to a secret destination, where it will be resized for Charles to wear on 6th May.
This crown was made in 1661 for the coronation of Charles II, as the previous crown had been melted down by Oliver Cromwell's regime.

As I recall, only the ampulla and spoon for the anointing survived Cromwell's purge of the coronation regalia.

Learning that they are already working on the crown brings to mind that the coronation will be here in just a few months. That should keep us busy on these threads.

I'm not sure there are words to express the love I feel for Charlotte Casiraghi's coat.

And I also love that Charlene has bucked the long, swishy hair trend. I think she looked great in the turtleneck and oversized coat (or jacket) - the minimalist look is so stylish. The clothes and hair frame her face beautifully.

Maireas · 04/12/2022 05:43

I agree with you, @mathanxiety - they both look very stylish and Charlene looks so chic. A royal woman with short hair is a rarity. I'm glad she looks well.

Same, @mathanxiety
I love, love, love Charlotte C's coat. Charlene's look is severely chic, but works for her.

Goodness I had figure envy looking at that green dress! So unforgiving and she looked amazing.Hair looked great too.

Sort of wish Kate would run a boot camp to show us her exercise regime.

Is Kates stylist (Natasha Archer) a proper stylist or is she a friend who has fallen into the role?

The mismatch of the emerald necklace and the dress and the green dress for "earth" just seem so basic.

I've been lurking and reading these threads for years & have occasionally posted under numerous names. I've enjoyed these threads immensely, they provide a bit of life hearted relief amongst the recent doom & gloom.

Natasha Archer started off as the Princess of Wales' PA initially, more info & pics in this Grazia article.

I think she does weights, after 40 women are advised to introduce weights into their exercise regime. She is very toned and slightly muscular, a bit like Leti although I think she's overdone it. Leti is too toned and muscular giving her a very stretched & taught look. Leti also needs to lay off the botox & fillers completely now because she looks unrecognisable.

hopeishere · 04/12/2022 08:45

Thanks @FlamingJingleBells - interesting! You'd have thought someone could have helped her with all those bags getting off the plane!!

My view on the emeralds is that green with green is a bit safe and the tone of them - neon dress and darker emeralds - jars, to me anyway. A plain diamond choker would have looked better imho.

I do wonder if someone a bit more strategic might have thought that renting a dress for one night would just smack of tokenism. A lot of reworn / reworked / vintage pieces throughout the tour would have been better for overall messaging.

My DP is likely to know which tiaras are going to be rolled out for the coronation, through his work. But for confidentiality reasons he won't be telling me until it's public knowledge. Do you think that might be grounds for divorce? I'm his w

According to the Mail, Diana wore it as a choker after finding her nose was too big for it to go over her head.....interesting. I always thought it was because when she was getting dressed they realised they'd forgotten to take a tiara.

Well said Seneca we self-police these threads really well and when things do wobble a bit it's usually when we have a flurry of new posters it seems. Critique the clothes not the women wearing them has been the motto from the beginning.

Was it in Australia Diana wore it as a headband? I thought at the time it was because she had got sunburnt and the choker was uncomfortable, but I thought that was a sapphire one?

hopeishere · 04/12/2022 09:01

Also I presume it has a clip at the back so why it was being pulled on over her nose makes no sense!!

gingercat02 · 04/12/2022 09:01

@iiknowimcoming guess I should rtft. Great minds 😂

Maireas · 04/12/2022 09:12

Yes, the nose comment seems unlikely and also a bit rude. The choker will have a clip at the back. I read that Diana's neck got a bit burned, as pp have said. That was the solution.

I’ve been pleased to see Kate has been adding vintage pieces into her wardrobe on her tours of late - in the Caribbean and now here she has worn vintage YSL and Chanel blazers that she has apparently owned for many years, and she wore a vintage dress in Jamaica too. She has also shared clothes with her mother, although interestingly I’ve seen that more criticised rather than praised (on the basis that it shows Kate is frumpy and her mother is mutton dressed as lamb - oh the joys of being a woman in the public eye!).

I was a bit surprised how many new pieces we saw on this tour, given its theme, although I know that tends to be her approach to foreign trips. At least this wasn’t like her trips to India/Bhutan/Singapore where she buys a lot of locally designed clothes that we then never see again. These pieces at least look right in her normal wheelhouse, though did she really need another green coat?

(to be fair though the British fashion industry will be struggling in the cost of living crisis, and part of her role is also to bang the drum for UK plc. Plus, at the price point she buys at she’s not supporting fast fashion at least, which is terrible on all fronts for the environment and those involved in it).

themessygarden · 04/12/2022 09:38

I love the coat Charlotte Casiraghi is wearing, she is so naturally beautiful.

Doesn't matter what Princess Charlene is wearing, my first thought is always 'oh poor Charlene'. She has such a tragic demeanour about her.

I absolutely love Letizia's wardrobe for the most part, however in recent photos I think she is morphing into Geena Davis, with all the work she has done to her face, she looks totally different.

.

Yes, I never imagined that that style of choker is designed to be pulled on over the head. It's not a jumper!

TangledWebofMincemeatDeception · 04/12/2022 10:26

It doesn’t make sense anyway as although it might have an extension chain, it wouldn’t be big enough to fit around a head (unless it maybe has a piece to turn it into a necklace, which is a possibility I suppose).

AgathaMystery · 04/12/2022 10:41

I had an interesting conversation about PoW & her general look the other day. My friend used to work in the King’s offices back when he was PoW many yrs ago. She also had a high profile job dealing with lots of famous folk before that.

She says that basically famous people have to pick between looking good IRL and looking good on TV/print. The camera does add a bit of bulk so this is why when you see them IRL you’re a bit jolted as to how very very slim they really are. Likewise makeup. IRL makeup can look heavy but in print or TV it looks fine. I have seen Kate IRL at a local play barn & she is extremely slim. Much much more so that you would think. I would also say she and her children can absolutely pass as everyday folk. It was the royal protection officer that gave them away.

Anyway, she knows that pictures and footage of her will be broadcast globally. She has to stay trim or she will be ripped to shreds. I feel for her.

I really liked the green dress. A bold choice.

KillingMeDeftly · 04/12/2022 11:01

If the old adage about the camera adding 10lb is true then Kate must disappear when she turns sideways IRL!

Interesting how the media are crafting the ‘bossy Charlotte’ narrative though. Her brother could be far more bossy as king in waiting!

I still can’t get on board with the colour of the green dress but it is fabulous to see the emerald choker. Hope this is the start of more bling! I would definitely be a Max if I were a royal with access to all those beautiful things.
