I'm not keen on the dress but the choker is fab, about time we saw that again. Agree that she doesn't quite look herself though, she looks like she's done something although I've no idea what.

paradyning · 02/12/2022 22:29

It's also green screen colour so we can have fun playing dress up with it.

lipstickwoman · 02/12/2022 22:30

The Fail is quoting 15million worth of choker. Can you even imagine wearing it

I bet William is delighted they took it to America for her to wear now.

mikado1 · 02/12/2022 22:31

And the hair colour is lovely too. Didn't like brown and orange as just really don't like those colours.

hopeishere · 02/12/2022 22:32

It's been rented apparently. Nice idea but smacks a bit of tokenism. I would have gone for diamonds as the greens don't match.

justasking111 · 02/12/2022 22:32

Looking at the other women at the event I feel sorry for them. I'd be hiding behind the curtain. I can hear the line uttered by miss Jean Brodie. I am in my prime

justasking111 · 02/12/2022 22:33

Jimmy Choo shoes?

Love the WhatsApp green! She doesn't look like herself tho in that close up, above. Is it the eyebrows/makeup? Overall, a great look tho! I prefer this to James Bond, which I didn't lurve, like others did.

I thought the same, the makeup artist has been heavy-handed.

hopeishere · 02/12/2022 22:35

She's had a lot of Botox in her forehead which I think is making her look different. She has a lift in her eyebrow because of it.

KillingMeDeftly · 02/12/2022 22:37

There is definitely something weird going on with her brows lately, as you say @hopeishere it'a most likely Botox.

I really don't know about a choker with an OTS dress 🤔

TangledWebofMincemeatDeception · 02/12/2022 22:43

I think there might be some filler going on too. I really hope we don’t see a decade or so of Kate’s face subtly looking more and more unlike her. It can get a little disturbing.

Lovely to see ‘new’ bling! And the dress is great too - certainly not a safe choice.

TangledWebofMincemeatDeception · 02/12/2022 22:44

Or subtly looking less and less like her...

Beautiful hair, as always.

TheTantrumoftheToddlerIsThere · 02/12/2022 22:45

I’m not keen on the colour, I’m going to be honest. But I love the boldness and the confidence. She looks amazing, who knew she had a butt 😆 and I LOVE LOVE LOVE the Diana choker!

TheTantrumoftheToddlerIsThere · 02/12/2022 22:46

And I have serious hair envy.

I am still very much of the opinion that Meghan has gorgeous skin and Kate has gorgeous hair 😍

Maireas · 02/12/2022 22:52

Lovely choker, I remember Diana wearing it as a sort of bandana as well.
That's a bold green, but it's nice to see her try different colours and styles.

I quite agree - that particular green is not for me at all (and I love most shades of green). But it’s still fab to see her looking great, she wears it very well.

I love the houndstooth dress but as pp said, she would have got waaaaay more points for wearing the Chanel bag with it instead.

paradyning · 02/12/2022 23:02

I liked the houndstooth too but thought a thin black belt would have been better than self
Colour

TangledWebofMincemeatDeception · 02/12/2022 23:04

Oh yes the choker looked great worn as a headband.

TangledWebofMincemeatDeception · 02/12/2022 23:05

On anyone else I might agree, but I’ve seen Kate wear too many thin belts in a contrasting colour. I liked it that I didn’t even notice it had a belt!

paradyning · 02/12/2022 23:06

That dress has actually pissed me off. It's so awful.

LadyVictoriaSponge · 02/12/2022 23:16

It’s a bit Tess Daly.

TangledWebofMincemeatDeception · 02/12/2022 23:21

Looking again I know what you mean, @paradyning. I’d only seen a standing photo from the front which looked a bit better...I get so excited whenever she ventures away from her clothing script. But I’m not sure Kate should be renting dresses. The impeccable fit is her signature thing and you really notice it when it’s not quite right. Also I think it looks quite cheap, don’t like it in movement. Look at the way the fabric hangs here and the hem/seams on the inside.

MarshaMelrose · 02/12/2022 23:24

I think its genius to rent it. I don't love it but I think she's put everything together well. And you're not going to miss her because she packs a punch. She can carry it all off though because these days she seems so at ease with herself and oozes confidence.

TangledWebofMincemeatDeception · 02/12/2022 23:43

Yes she really does. As I always say we’ve seen a real marked evolvement of her approach to style over the last few years as she’s become more established in her role; it’s actually been really nice to follow!

Of course she can carry it off, she wears (pretty much) everything so well. She still looks fab even if the dress isn’t great. My comment on renting was in terms of exquisite fit only, not on the aspects of sustainability and such which are important too. But from the perspective of looking 100% it’s never going to be easy to do with rented options. Nevertheless she does always look lovely, and her very genuine engagement helps a lot too.

(And let’s face it, on this particular occasion she could have worn a bin bag and the millions of pounds worth of jewels would have packed quite the visual punch anyway!)

TangledWebofMincemeatDeception · 02/12/2022 23:46

The above photo really is great, though. She does seem very at ease these days and confident in herself in terms of her standing in the family, which again is nice to see.
