Going grey gracefully (or at least without looking like I've just parked my broomstick)

Im 49 and I've dyed my hair dark brown or red since I was 16.

It's coming through fully grey and has been for a while now. I'm thinking of embracing it.

However how to do it without looking awful while it grows out? It's thick and wavy, currently shoulder length.

I don't want to wear a hat for months- they don't suit me anyway!

Help?!

I maybe at risk of the broomstick at the moment, as deparately need a cut (due on Friday) but I ditched the dye 8 years ago. Chopped it all off to a pixie so I didn't succumb/give in.
I found following other people on social media really helped as you could really see that in probably at least 80% of cases, if not more, people genuinely looked better with their natural hair colour.

I have not regretted it once.

I’m naturally quiet dark and have dyed my hair a deep auburn shade for over 20 years. Trying to grow out the dye now (second time round as I hated it last time) and I have the hair dresser do magic t foils (?? Not sure that’s the right term) with lighter and darker tones to soften the dye line?

I grew the dye out the hardcore way a few years ago and hated the tone of grey I had. Very steely grey on top and just washed me out (I’m quite fair skinned). This time when I grow it out I’ll be having something done to it to soften the look.

I think I just want to give it a go and see how I feel about it. I can always dye it again if I don’t like it. I’m just fed up of feeling like I have to dye it.

Lovely hair!
Are those your natural curls too?
