Because I think this is not nice. It makes the lady look like a doily.

The lead singer of Wetleg would

Actually, this is very helpful of Boden. I have a similar build to the model (although far more old and saggy) and it reminds me that their clothes (especially their dresses) do absolutely NOTHING for me.

The way they have her standing, and the footwear they pair it with doesn't help, but she is beautiful and almost all of the dresses they have her in don't work.

Every few years I order a few hundred pounds worth and end up sending it all back. This has saved me a post office trip.

How did you single that out out of a whole website of horror?

QuebecBagnet · 08/11/2022 17:43

You’d be ready for Flamenco week on Strictly.

Frenchfancy · 08/11/2022 16:44

I'd wear it if I needed to go to a fancy dress party as a Christmas tree.

Was going to say the same thing, would look like a Xmas tree

CampervanKween · 08/11/2022 17:46

Terrible. Love the Hamble comment 🤣

ghislaine · 08/11/2022 17:47

Looks like a Vampire’s Wife rip-off.

GettingStuffed · 08/11/2022 17:48

It's better in black but what idiot decided to style it with socks and shoes (the black one)

DWMoosmum · 08/11/2022 17:50

Not my cup of tea but I can see why it's 'selling like hot cakes'!

BatCheeseIsFine · 08/11/2022 17:51

It's not quite as terrible as it could have been (I have in fact seen worse from Boden) and I think some women could carry it off - but it should be silk at that price! And the shoes OMG.

CantSleepCountingSheep · 08/11/2022 17:56

Yes I totally would wear that!

SiobhanSharpe · 08/11/2022 17:58

Says the model is wearing a size 14. Pity she's not wearing a bra.

Hillsmakeyoustrong · 08/11/2022 17:59

No!

NeverDropYourMooncup · 08/11/2022 18:00

Oh, God. I actually like it.

But I was very, very gothy when I was 22, naturally deathly pale, long dark auburn hair and a dab hand with the liquid eyeliner, so it would have gone perfectly with the blood-clot-red lipstick & nails. And the vertiginous heels.

These days, I'd look more like Robert Smith's grandmother if she got drunk and fell into the Christmas tree after a couple of sweet sherries and the King's Speech, rather than a devastatingly dangerous siren who would drain the life from you as you begged for more...

SiobhanSharpe · 08/11/2022 18:01

OMG. I just looked at it in the black version. Fugly socks and shoes this time.
The model looks seriously pissed off. No wonder.

Brokendaughter · 08/11/2022 18:02

It looks like something that fell out of a 1970s dressing up box.

Can't imagine where you would wear it or who would want to be seen in public with it on.

3peassuit · 08/11/2022 18:02

If It makes the model look frumpy imagine what it would look like on a mere mortal.

keeprunning55 · 08/11/2022 18:12

Boobs seem to be an issue -even on the model.

Pigeon31 · 08/11/2022 18:14

That's a no to the dress in the OP.

This one reminds me a lot of a dress I wore to a university ball as an undergrad though - www.boden.co.uk/en-gb/mutton-sleeve-velvet-top-onyx-green/sty-t1104-grn?cat=C1_S2_G360

I quite like that one

Helenahandkart · 08/11/2022 18:18

I’m glad you all hate it. It means it’ll be massively reduced eventually and I’ll be able to snap it up for next to nothing. I think it’s fab.

I would wear it, but I sure as hell wouldn't buy it - £220 for a mesh dress? I think not!

the80sweregreat · 08/11/2022 18:19

It's not very nice!
Horrible colour

TheOGCCL · 08/11/2022 18:20

That's a very good example of bad product images in that there isn't a simple one of the model just standing straight on looking at the camera. The one with her slumped across a chair makes her look like her breasts are trussed up like pork pies so I imagine this would be very unflattering on anyone over a C cup.

Butchyrestingface · 08/11/2022 18:21

Not if you held a loaded gun to my head. I am not deficient in the mammarian department and can just imagine how style would make me look.
