First date … bar, classy but sexy

I’ve had a quick look through all the usual suspects, next, warehouse etc I don’t want to go on the one hand looking like his mother he is a bit younger than me and on the other hand I don’t want to like an old slapper either.

i’ve probably got 99% of what’s about to be suggested sat in my wardrobe I just need to get out can anybody give me some ideas for an outfit ?

I also feel the cold a lot so I’m conscious I don’t want to be dressed like I’m in Santorini in a typical UK town Centre

How about a jumpsuit?

I do have a jumpsuit but my arse is not looking great at the moment I’m nearer to a 14 than a 12 that I would like

I have this top and it is really flattering - the tighter fit, the deep scoop, long sleeves... looks great with jeans, nice belt, and jewellery but is pretty low key and understated. This specific top is pretty pricy but there might be similar on ASOS.

I'd wear leather leggings and a cami top. Oversize blazer if I wanted to cover up or be warm. Either boots or strappy sandals depending on how dressed up I wanted to be, and what what the norm for the venue. (That might be very 'dated' where you are, but round here it's still fine and my go to.)

This is my worry I don’t want to look like a old tart, it’s bad enough that kind of my face is gonna make me look like his mum I don’t want the clothes do as well 🤣

Wear what you feel best in. If you make your hair and makeup look alright and then just wear something flattering that you love, then that will be perfect.

I'd watch The Luckiest Girl In The World on Netflix and copy any of her outfits. She hit the "sexy but classy" note perfectly. I thought the film was awful but her outfits were great.

You didn’t appear to be in, in the first place did you so I’m not sure what we’re losing out on there but okay

What sort of bar and where it is will have a bearing on your outfit, also you want to be comfortable; what do you usually wear when you go out?

If I go out it’s usually straight from work so I’m usually in a suit and heels which I absolutely do not want to wear on this occasion

@AuntSalli would a LBD fit the bill? Can be dressed up or down and worn with a range of footwear.
Personally I think most men are quite traditional in the taste in clothes so LBD would probably tick the classy but sexy box.

Jeans, nice top, Blazer & heels...timeless, sexy but classy and classic!

I don't think I have seen anyone in anything approaching a LBD for some time. Everyone dresses down so much these days.

This is my concern because all the beautiful young skinny things can arrive wearing in a beanbag and still look beautiful where is I think I need to make a significant more amount of effort

High heels are very dated and if he’s under 30 it’s probably not a very attractive aesthetic to him - and also, they’re bloody uncomfortable. I’d go for sneakers/trainers, loafers or boots, straight or bootcut jeans, a white t shirt or shirt, and a nice jacket, or a summer dress with a t shirt under it and a cool jacket.

I’ve got a very long ankle length coat, or It might be a good test, I’m so cold you need to wrap yourself around me thing. And if he stands there in his coat watching my teeth chatter there won’t be a second date put it that way 🤣🤣
