My Lys shirt is here!

OP posts:
Laska2Meryls · 08/12/2022 15:04

Im keeping the Lys it this time after regretted sending it back previously.. its a 12 and big on me .. Ruddy stupid Toast sizing .. the 14 Luna was just too small in the bust and that gold seersucker dress above is an 18 and not as wide over the bust as the 12 Lys!! FFS! No wonder they get so many returns. 🤦‍♀️

Laska2Meryls · 08/12/2022 15:07

So in the end my Sale haul keepers were the gold/ green seersucker dress, olive long sleeve grandad tee and the Lys shirt.. Not too shabby.

@Laska2Meryls ooh that is lovely.

Countmeout · 08/12/2022 15:45

So my parcel this morning is the bud check dress. Need to have a proper try on but pulled one on quickly and 🤦‍♀️ I like it. Not as ochre as I expected and expected to not like it. It would be very useful for daily wear. I ordered 2 sizes as it’s a button front. Also in the parcel a cotton neck scarf. Looked orange online. Turns out to be a shade of brown. Not sure if I can face returning it as they’ll probably drop it on the floor of returns and deny it was in the parcel.

faustina · 08/12/2022 15:55

@Laska2Meryls - beautiful colour, but you're totally letting the side down with your gardening gear. There's a brilliant thread called 'if monty don were a woman' which has lots of wonderful links if you want to up your gardening game 😀

Laska2Meryls · 08/12/2022 16:06

Im so orry Faustina .. We are planning on lighting the old garden bin incinerator later to burn for some of the hedge cuttings so I will change into my new dress and Toast prize peacoat and get back out there ! Wink

I got the space check shirt dress today, it’s soooo long. Need to work out if it’s worth me trying to get someone to shorten it. It’s also not an easy shorten as the back it longer than the front. Shame as I really like the top half of it!

If there's any chance you're returning a 10 in the bud check dress and would be willing to sell it instead please let me know! @Countmeout

I've been sorting through my Toast woolies this week - totally forgot about a lovely little green cardigan I have so I was really chuffed to find that (a few years old now - it's waist length with a hint of sparkle running through it).

Also have to get some tights (and thermal vests!) so I can wear my winterish dresses. Can anyone recommend any footless ones?

HeyHeyer · 08/12/2022 16:35

Laska2Meryls · 08/12/2022 14:58

@Snowyowl78 this is it.. it's gorgeous and a little creased . Id model it, but I am currently in my gardening stuff ..Its all wrong though, sorry not a cashmere dress and beautiful hand mae leather shoes but old (cheap ) muddy bashed up jeans and a disreputable frayed hoody ( probably originally from M&S or Tu ! ) and I dont even have a mushroom in my pocket😂.. Ill leave the thread in shame if you all want to vote me off !

That is a gorgeous colour! Is it a 'shiny' finish?

Laska2Meryls · 08/12/2022 16:55

Its a bit dark , but here is the Lys shirt, the balloon trousers that I won and last years jerkin... Excusing the slightly tortured pose to get it all in. Do tou think it works? I an thinking of taking this away as an outfit for our Bath break this weekend ..

Yes slightly Heyheya, more of a sheen..

Dress was reduced to £95 ( I think from over 200) which seems a bargain for Toast 😃

It does! I can't really justify even sale Toast prices but I still find myself tempted!

Your outfit above looks great. Putting pieces together is always the problem for me - I'd never think to add a jerkin but it makes it so much more interesting and 'put together' than just a shirt abd trousers.

Theteapotsbrokenspout · 08/12/2022 17:19

@HeyHeyer I always get my footless tights from Snag . I like to wear dresses with thick socks and boots and hate the feel of socks over tights. I think they do leggings as well now if you’re looking for anything thicker.

Snowyowl78 · 08/12/2022 17:23

@HeyHeyer i have some footless tights from Heist, they are comfy!

@Laska2Meryls , I love that outfit. I’m sorry now I didn’t go for the Lys shirt.

EmmatheStageRat · 08/12/2022 17:27

My missing-in-action pumpkin linen napkins arrived this morning, to add to the eleventy-billion I have in various colours!

EmmatheStageRat · 08/12/2022 17:28

@HeyHeyer , I have some merino wool footless tights from Falke (check out Amazon for occasional deals on Falke).

HeyHeyer · 08/12/2022 17:35

Thanks for the tights recommendations. I actually have 'normal' tights from Snag bought years ago but I didn't think they were worth the hype for the price tbh. I'll have another look.

Falke on offer sounds good - I didn't realise they did footless.

I usually wear small/thin trainer style socks under tights but I'd much prefer my feet to be free!

Stoic123 · 08/12/2022 19:53

All the items stuck in Swansea have moved- just one (bought final day) to arrive.

Keeping all non-clothes items (napkins/enamelware).

Of clothes- Kept: -

  • Raglan needlecord top in Slate (love it)
  • Sycamore needlecord (similar to above but will wear a lot).
  • Loopback trousers (Ecru version of charcoal ones still on sale) - not glam but very comfortable and useful.

Have returned:

  • Cotton linen smock dress in Spice (Montella one on way instead as liked style and hoping colour is better)
  • Japanese Trousers (only large was left and too enormous/unflattering)
  • Luna dress (12- fitted but unflattering)
  • Zadie Bloom dress (nice but not gorgeous enough to merit adding to already too big Toast dress collection)
  • Charcoal marl cardigan (I look lumpen in it - quality good).

Some photos loaded...

Stoic123 · 08/12/2022 19:55

@Laska2Meryls - love the Lys shirt on you.

dudsville · 08/12/2022 20:15

Fab outfit @Laska2Meryls , love the lys, also appreciating the bud check dress love.

Today I wore the gauzy check raglan top with some brown cords from the last sale, my toast solovair, with falke socks, and toast fair isle scarf. They should pay me for advertisement.

Stoic123 · 08/12/2022 20:57

Or some photos not loaded for some reason.

ScottishMouse · 09/12/2022 13:14

My missing parcel showed up this morning, even though it still says it is in Swansea.
The seed check shirt and the seersucker shirt are keepers. The neat cashmere wool sweater I’m not sure about. The size small is tiny, but the medium is maybe too big. The sleeves are very very long and I’m just not sure they wouldn’t annoy me. Will have a ponder on it.
