You are not the only one @OftenOrange ..
I am currently looking morosely at the lovely green gold seersucker dress -the only thing I have so far kept from this sale -and thinking that U should really send it back, because I can't actually think of any event I have coming up to wear it. 😐

AFingerofFudge · 06/12/2022 09:03

And I'll join in with that. I have this lovely jacket I bought earlier this year. I love it and yet have never worn it and can't think of an occasion to wear it.

Does anyone have it and can inspire me??

ToastCosILoveIt · 06/12/2022 09:15

@AFingerofFudge , I have that jacket and wear it with black trousers for work and with jeans and DMs or my Toast Solovairs to be more casual. It is very cosy and warm, perfect for this weather - a defintite cool winter piece. I think you need to just crack on and wear it. I save very little for 'best' now or for an occassion, I just try to wear nice things all of the time.

AFingerofFudge · 06/12/2022 09:51

You're absolutely right @ToastCosILoveIt there is no point in saving things for "best" - I have got better with this but still need to work on it. What do you wear underneath it??

ToastCosILoveIt · 06/12/2022 09:56

@AFingerofFudge , I dont tend to wear anything underneath it as it is quite warm but obviously I keep it tied closed!

Maybe one of the Jigsaw modal lace vests if it is very cold - www.jigsaw-online.com/collections/vests-camisoles/products/modal-lace-vest-dark-brown?queryID=8541f5886ad88a99385453e7f8d265b8

Stoic123 · 06/12/2022 16:38

@AFingerofFudge - I have that jacket and wear it over a black dress or with black trousers (neutral tee shirt underneath works fine for me). Wear it to work or just out and about.

applecatchers36 · 06/12/2022 17:18

My sale parcel arrived from Swansea. Am keeping the Novestas and parchment carpenter trousers for spring/ summer. Am sending back the ditsy print dress as it drowned me and the jumpsuit as although the top was lovely and fitted well the trousers really didn't and were strangely voluminous.

SmaugMum · 06/12/2022 18:00

My Vale Circle print dress is on its way, hurrah.

Laska2Meryls · 06/12/2022 18:22

My olive cotton linen grandad tee arrived and is fab ( but I already have the cumin one, so I knew that it was a keeper). ,Luna and Lys are still relaxing in Swansea !
I am keeping the dress mentioned above.. I live it so much id be sad if it went.. I have a city break coming up this weekend in Bath for a scary age birthday.. so ill wear it then.. Bath Toast also does Toast circle, so I am going to pack a. Couple of things I might like to swap .

I am off eBay atm after they ruled against me with a business seller who definitely didn't send something but somehow managed to manipulate dates and delivery info to show they did ... , and I lost out 50 quid ..
I have a PayPal case going on but its my word against theirs and I am not hopeful as its been a month now with no decision.. 😡

@Laska2Meryls I love your special Toast outfit. Congratulations. That coat is fabulous! I shall be keeping my eye out for this in the sales!

@SmaugMum your daughter has such talent! I love those bracelets and would most certainly purchase. Will you branch into an Etsy store?

I have been playing catch up after being away for a week. Loving hearing about your sales purchases. I missed the second wind of the sale but my 3 purchases arrived today - kitty clogs. Painted falls Nightdress and embroidered PJ shirt and all are keepers. The clogs are a perfect fit and so comfy. I had been eyeing them for a while.

happysoju · 06/12/2022 19:17

Very exciting to read about everyones purchases! My order just got dispatched, 5 days after I placed it- which was slower than expected, but at least on its way now.
Strangely the enamel cup wasn't included in this shipment- why would they send a cup separately to NZ..?

Oh what a nightmare you had on EBay , so sorry to hear your tale . I sell mostly and so far haven’t had cause for complaint .
So good that you have an occasion to wear the dress ,it’s a beauty .

OftenOrange · 06/12/2022 19:29

The items from my first package are all keepers . I really love the collared t shirt thing , the one with the big collar that can be worn so many ways . It’s really neat and very unusual . Also love the circle neck blue top and wore it with trusty side button trousers today , the sleeves are so pretty so can’t wait for Spring when I can wear it without a cardigan,
I’m returning the stripey alpaca jumper that just arrived, I don’t like it on myself but it’s a beautiful cosy light as a feather jumper .

I think it’s something you’ll always have in your wardrobe as a really special piece and once you get in the habit of using it I bet you’ll love wearing it .

dudsville · 06/12/2022 20:42

@Stoic123 ,i wore the raglan top today but with a cardigan over it as its cold and that didn't work, or felt like i was bunching up a loose floaty thing. I think mine will be used more in spring/autumn!

@AFingerofFudge and@Laska2Meryls , I'm just posting encouragement to wear those lovely things! They are things of real joy and beauty.

I agree that's odd re the cup @happysoju !

As for me, i recieved the solovair today and I'm deflated. The leather doesn't seem as good as my other pair and they're loose fitting in the width, also unlike my other pair. So I'm sending them back. I had lots of ideas of how i'd wear them over winter so that's a let down.

I'm "only" waiting on 2 more packages, one is in transit. I'm off to check on the other.

ScottishMouse · 06/12/2022 20:47

My parcels are still in the black hole in Swansea. I wonder if they will ever move. One has been there for over a week now. I have the one order that has arrived all packed up to go back, but given the postal strikes, I might wait until I can return to a store in case it falls into a black hole on the way back to them.

Stoic123 · 06/12/2022 20:49

@dudsville - yes, can see that. I wore with thermal vest underneath but It is more spring/autumn. Was really flattering on me!

Snowyowl78 · 06/12/2022 20:56

@ScottishMouse mine are also stuck, more strikes this week and next! You’re prob already aware, but be careful with the 14 day return window if you’re going to wait to return

Snowyowl78 · 06/12/2022 21:12

Talking of returns, I notice Toast have started using ‘Inpost’ where you can just dump your returns in a locker. Saves the multiple parcels at the PO issue!

Reading the problems with 'InPost' on Vinted I’m not sure that’s going to solve any problems.

Oh really! Are they rubbish? Sad news, there is one just down the road from me

Theteapotsbrokenspout · 06/12/2022 21:46

@Snowyowl78 There seems to be lots of problems with lockers being continually full so it’s not always easy to find one near which has spaces available. Initially there were also problems with lockers not being emptied due to lack of staff, I don’t know whether this issue has been resolved yet.

Snowyowl78 · 06/12/2022 21:51

@Theteapotsbrokenspout I was wondering who emptied them and how often and whether this would lead to delays. Might try it out for something low value…

Theteapotsbrokenspout · 06/12/2022 22:06

I would have thought Toast should be flexible over sales returns with the current problems, also not everyone lives close to an InPost locker. The closest to me is 13 miles away, unless you count the one 10 miles and a ferry ride away Hmm .

Countmeout · 07/12/2022 08:17

Morning everyone. I’m back home.
in the end I didn't try the green dress as I knew to look at it is wouldn’t be great with a bust.
I did try the woollen Alix - although the assistant suggested they were smaller sized I found they weren’t and would buy in my normal Alix size if I decided to purchase. I like the material although might itch (?) but the dry clean only puts me off.
I also tried the indigo twill easy shirt which I found too heavy and overwhelming. I much prefer it in the poplin I have.
I tried this as I like a casual trouser but much to wide in the leg for my preference

www.toa.st/collections/womens-trousers/products/diamond-stripe-cotton-trousers-ink-stone

loved the colour of this but couldn’t think how it would fit in my wardrobe
www.toa.st/collections/womens-tops-tees/products/ruffled-collar-cotton-silk-shirt-arctic-blue
it looked especially good teamed with green.

I was amazed how heavy the fabric looked in this . It’s not my colour and felt it might be quite heavy on but it’s beautiful quality.
www.toa.st/collections/womens-tops-tees/products/tie-neck-cotton-pique-shirt-ecru

I bought another pair of Gabis - in the pear this time. These are definitely longer than previous seasons and I can now see why @faustina has them rolled up in the pictures she posted. I think they may also be fractionally wider.

one parcel has arrived here.
it has a blue striped shirt in it and the yolked jumper. First impression of the jumper is that it’s terribly heavy. It’s so cold this morning though I maybe could see myself wearing it but initially thought it wouldn’t get much use as it’s so warm looking. Will have a try on later.
No sign of any further parcels this morning.
