Ankle wellingtons

I gave my lovely ankle rubber boots to my friend on a whim, when she admired them. No regrets...she's lovely...but I need to replace them. I had mine for years, so out of touch with what's good. Nothing pink, sparkly or flimsy.
Cost is a factor, not cheapest, but not ridiculously expensive.
I want something that will last a few years. Recommendations please........

To fleece line or not fleece line? Tretorn have non-fleeced lined on sale...or do I just go in for a penny, in for a pound.

So, I have checked my wellies and it looks like I went up a EU size, so normally a 39 but bought 40 to allow for socks etc. When they arrived I worried that they may be too big, but have been perfect. The fur seems to have kept it's thickness and not flattened too much, and I have worn them every day for at least two hours walking the dog. I haven't even cracked out the really thick socks yet.
And yes they are the Eva ones from the Footway website.

Yes @MsPrism they are great! Thank you so much. I christened them yesterday and a friend said oh wow I love your boots and wanted to know exactly where they were from so I told her!

Thank you. They are fabulous. My only issue is that my socks sink down when I walk in them so I think I need some longer and tighter socks. But they are SO COMFORTABLE and I was so thrilled it rained yesterday and I had an excuse to wear them.

Yes, they drag my socks down too, I now, rather nattily, tuck my trousers in my socks :)

minipie · 04/11/2022 22:41

Thank you MsPrism. Maybe I should try a size up then

minipie · 04/11/2022 22:43

Oh and thank you Perfectlystill too

Perfectlystill · 27/11/2022 15:39

Just come back on to say not only do I love my Tretorn boots @MsPrism (I mean genuinely feel happy every time I'm about to put them on), but my mother saw and envied them so I've got her some for Christmas and then my daughter ditto so I have just ordered HER a pair for Christmas, too!

Thank you!

I've got Hunter short gloss ones. They are really nice and comfortable.

TheRealKatnissEverdeen · 27/11/2022 19:33

@Perfectlystill I followed suit and got some too and was definitely the best decision. This thread was a gem!

chalkyc2 · 27/11/2022 19:38

A few colours of the fit flop ones are reduced atm....

LemonDrizzles · 27/11/2022 19:41

Joules or Dunlop

justforthisnow · 27/11/2022 19:42

I have Aigle, swear by them for quality. www.aigle.com/uk/en/women-ankle-boots
I had Hunters, split after 1 year, would never get them again, agree with PP re poor quality.

BlameItOnTinder · 27/11/2022 20:07

Le Chameau - the neoprene lined ones.

Perfectlystill · 27/11/2022 21:35

So great @TheRealKatnissEverdeen !

It lovely to know you are so happy with your boots😍

EraOfTheGrey · 28/11/2022 10:31

I have these tretorn garpa rubber boots and I haven't worn any other footwear for the last month or so. They are so comfortable, sturdy and totally waterproof.

featheryfancy · 28/11/2022 10:37

I had hunter ones that only lasted two years before splitting all along the soles so wouldn't recommend them.
I have just ordered some Barbour ones. Not arrived yet so can't comment on the quality however, paid £38 in the sales which is less than half the hunters price
