So I’ve book my surgery in Turkey for this time next week . Flights cost £500
and the deposit was £300. Now I’m thinking of not going but £800 is an awful lot of money to loose . Has anyone used the company ‘clineca’ before ? The surgeons name is dr alp ercan if anyone knows him.

Hi
Thinking of turkey facelift and have researched a bit.
The clinic I was talking to asked for £250 upfront then to bring the balance in cash to be given over before the surgery - is this common practice?

I wouldn't risk it. Did they give you the name of the Dr so you can research if he's reputable?

I had rhinoplasty in Turkey and this seems to be very common practice (from my experience in different research groups and speaking to other people who have had rhino there). I paid £500 deposit via bank transfer and the rest in cash the day before the surgery. I think it’s very normal over there for this to be the process, they also seem to prefer cash in your home currency. I would make sure you are 100% happy with your surgeon before booking anything though, as generally the deposits are non-refundable and it’s important to speak to other patients of theirs to know if they had a good experience or had any issues.

Apparently everyone on mumsnet knows someone who went to turkey for surgery and woke up with only one kidney 😂 who knew so many people only have one kidney!
