I love my veja’s but apparently they are mumsy old fashioned and try-hard! That’s according to just one thread on here. What are alternatives I should look at? I’m mid 40s if it makes a difference.

Ok, my last bump. Please tell me which trainers I should consider so not to be making a massive fashion faux pas!

Firstly, I wouldn't care what others think if you like them!
I have various pairs of trainers, reeboks, Arigato and most recently some Nike air max.
I'm after some New Balance next!😊

I can't help because I have vejas and I love them. I'm 43 and I don't pretend I'm cool.

I also like New Balance so I expect they aren't cool either!

Are they comfortable?
I was thinking of buying some addidas plain white ones soon.

I don't give a sh@t im wearing Hotters because I've got sore arthritic feet and I think they look okay

It's a reasonable question to ask in style & beauty topic. I'm in my early 40s, I keep buying trainers and feel like I keep getting it wrong ( style wise ), I'd also like to know what would help me look more on trend trainer wise.

I keep thinking of this too. I have adidas gazelles which I like, and converse which I should retire as they are just so uncomfortable. I'm after a slightly sturdier pair, one that would see me to winter. I'm thinking Nike..but which ones?

I also have insanely wide feet so lots of shoes are not comfortable on my massive duck feet!

I love Veja and Superga and I don't think they're mumsy at all but even if they are I don't care.

I wear white and navy pumas. I love them. Private school mum and literally everyone else is wearing vejas.

I have new balance and avoid white trainers, especially heading I to autumn and winter when they're likely going to be covered with muddy leaves and puddle water

Anyone who says 'you can't wear those they're try hard, you should wear these instead' is trying too hard.

Adidas astir or New Balance 327 are supposed to be the new “in” trainers. But honestly, just wear what you like. Trainers of any sort are fashionable at the moment. I think there seems to be a move away from white - lots of the new in styles are grey or bright coloured.

I like new balance but I'm not sure I'm cool! Currently drooling over the Nike Air force 1s in wintery colours but I don't know if they're too teenagery!
