Day to day, fairly large shoulder bag, a couple of pockets and ideally two sections but would be happy with one big compartment.

I've been looking in the Michael Kors sale but not sure about their reputation really.

What bag would you choose?

I've never liked Michael Kors. For the same price I'd choose a Radley or something similar (without the shit dog tag) as they're very well made and the leather lasts.

dizzyupthegirl86 · 06/09/2022 12:11

What about coach? I’ve got an Edie which fits your description.

dizzyupthegirl86 · 06/09/2022 12:12

Although a quick check on their website tells me they’ve gone up A LOT in price!

MissHavishamsMouldyOldCake · 06/09/2022 12:15

I'd look at Coach/Osprey/Kate Spade

Or maybe something second hand on Vestiaire

I'm not hugely keen on Michael Kors.

nokitchen · 06/09/2022 12:42

Kate Spade for me.

NeedWineNow · 06/09/2022 13:03

Going against the MN grain here but I would look at Michael Kors. I've got several and they are well made, particularly the linings (cheap linings on an expensive bag is a real bugbear of mine). The leather is good and they have lasted well.

Failing that I would second Coach or Radley. Fiorelli also good.

Dingalingo · 06/09/2022 13:18

Whistles/jigsaw? Good quality and no tacky brand logos

Dingalingo · 06/09/2022 13:19

M&S also occasionally have lovely real leather handbags around that price point (by the way I’m 32 just before you think I’m trying to suggest something dowdy or “old fashioned”!) x

I bought a coach one and then got a Michael kors one about six months later as a present (it was perfect apart from the colour so I changed it)

it’s held up really well, albeit I’ve barely used it in the last two years 🙄- genuinely still looks brand new. No scratching on the hardware, the leathers not marked at all.

TheTeddyBears · 06/09/2022 13:26

I had a very nice dkny one that wld fit with your requirements. Got it from house of Fraser was a great bag. Sadly got stolen from my house though so I got a Ted baker one. It's also very nice but not quite as big and I think the dkny one was a bit better made.

I've got a couple of Michael Kors ones too which have been gd bags but wld try get something else as so many of them around and plenty of fakes so it has put me off.

rocketlove · 06/09/2022 13:32

I love coach. You can look on websites like fashionette or flannels and you will more for your money.

Mrcpy · 06/09/2022 15:18

I’d say Coach and Kate Spade are good brands. Coach has the better quality and great sales. I can be a bit snobby about bags and would avoid Michael Kors and Radley in general (though I do have a Radley which I love! Rules are meant to be broken!) Also - I’m not sure if completely in your price range but - have a look at Polene and Demillier to see if you can be tempted.

MollyVolley · 06/09/2022 15:27

ooh thanks @newbiename the osprey ones are gorgeous and they also have an orange one even more reduced which I may possibly have just bought 😂
Hope you find a bag OP!

Coccinelle is another one to look at. www.fashionette.co.uk/coccinelle-liya-noir-3

SwimmingOnEggshells · 06/09/2022 15:51

Or Liesbeskind, Berlin. This one has three pockets:

Do people still post randomly bitchy posts to give themselves a little thrill?

I prefer masturbation.

SareBear87 · 06/09/2022 16:09

I've had my Kate Spade "Hayden" for around 10 years, it's been kicked, thrown around and survived several holidays. It was spendy when I bought it but honestly can't complain! It doesn't look anywhere near its age!

IceStationZebra · 06/09/2022 16:10

Kate Spade. There’s nearly always a sale on and I have a few nice everyday bags from there.

SwimmingOnEggshells · 06/09/2022 16:11

@MissHavishamsMouldyOldCake 😂

Always someone determined to proclaim all branding as tacky. Never met a person who calls things tacky who isn't themselves a little
