£200 for a handbag

Day to day, fairly large shoulder bag, a couple of pockets and ideally two sections but would be happy with one big compartment.

I've been looking in the Michael Kors sale but not sure about their reputation really.

What bag would you choose?

I've never understood the hatred of Michael Kors bags. They are so simple in design, they look classic to me, though I've never had one.

Loads of choice at that price range from Osprey and some Kate Spade. Think my next bag will be an Osprey.

If you aren't looking for leather, Longchamps have some coated canvases ones at that price range.

If you don't care about sneery fashion snobs (I don't) Radley bags are lovely - really spacious tardises inside, soft leather and simple designs.

It’s so lovely but I’ve just dropped £200 on gig tickets! But…. It was my birthday last week….

the ridiculous thing is that if there was a discount code, I’d buy it. The fact that there isn’t is making me not do it!

It is heavily reduced though! I couldn't see any discount codes at all not even using my student card.

That's a beautiful bag. I like that the satchel handles fold down when using the cross body strap. That is a much more elegant design than ones that have short handles sticking up when using the longer strap.

Coach still have a sale on I think, and also have an outlet on their website. I'd also look at Kate Spade or check on Brand Alley for discounted options.

Michael Kors isn't for me personally but is probably also within budget.

I think COS and ARKET do nice every day bags, if non branded is preferable.

Look on TKMaxx.com you could get a bag worth £6-700 for £200.

I like the little dog but it's removable if you don't. Also made in UK, which is important for me.

I've never understood the negativity about Radley on MN. Maybe they just send the nicer ones to the US because I quite like them, dog and all.

Nor have I. I love their bags, and the dog tag is inoffensive to me. I quite like it!

I would check out tk maxx first as they sell Michael Kors and Radley.

I had a mooch on TK Maxx before i posted here, nothing tickled my fancy really. Will keep an eye though! Even though I've bought one now 😅

Osprey are lovely, I love that hobo upthread. the only thing I would complain of on my rucksack is the chrome coating is slightly wearing off the main zip so it looks a bit discoloured now but it is very well made

You're mad if you're spending 200 pounds on a handbag. Get one from Matalan, does the same job and probably looks as good.

Is someone wants to spend £200 or £2000 on a handbag and they can afford it then why the hell not?
Nothing against Matalan but I very much doubt a bag from there would bring me the pleasure my Mulberry and Coach bags do and side by side they look very different.
If we are talking about doing a job just use a 50p bag for life

I went for the Osprey Adaline 😍will not be my last Osprey purchase though.

I have never spent any more than maybe £50 on a bag before and decided to treat myself. The ultimate would be a Mulberry, which I've promised myself after a big promotion!
