£200 for a handbag

Day to day, fairly large shoulder bag, a couple of pockets and ideally two sections but would be happy with one big compartment.

I've been looking in the Michael Kors sale but not sure about their reputation really.

What bag would you choose?

i think I’ve just fallen for this one.

There's always one or two posters who love to try to make others feel shit by belittling them. You just end up looking small and petty. Would I buy MK? No. But that doesn't make me better than someone who would.

Coach 100% at that budget. Great quality.

@MissMaple82 i know plenty of people with Michael Kors bags but perhaps I have tacky friends. Rather have those than bitchy ones! You'd generally find me kitted out in New Look and ASOS so not sure what that makes me 😬

I've got a Michael Kors shoulder bag and I'd really recommend it. It's my every day slug around bag - in a neutral shade so it goes with absolutely everything, and works for all seasons. It's still in like new condition after about 3 years!
I think it's a medium sized Raven but I can't see it on JL website any more.

Maybe concentrate on spelling instead of snobbery?

Another vote for Coach or Kate Spade; they both have sales on at the moment in the US (where I am), not sure about the UK.

What about Tory Burch? Their prices have really gone up lately, but there might be something on sale.

Kate Spade, Ralph Lauren or the Satchel company? I think MK a bit overdone now.

Fossil and Lulu Guinness are worth a look. The quality and longevity of Fossil leather bags in particular is excellent.

Another vote for Coach, get yourself to an outlet if you can, although they have regular, decent sales too. Hard wearing, great quality, I always go for mine over any other bag. eBay can be worth a look, I got a lovely Coach tote on there, Willow if memory serves me correctly it's called.

How could I forget Fossil? I have had a Fossil work tote for years; it is attractive and durable. Mine is called the Rachel tote.

Have a look at Furla. Very good value for lovely bags

Coach are often on Brandallley at a good reduction.

Osprey or Radley.

I bought a French connection weekend bag, two weeks ago, did a whole weekend in London with it and the zip broke five minutes from home.

it must be a sign. Definitely need something of a higher quality (and pink)

Coach is excellent quality, even preloved. Kate spade also good

Would rule out places like john lewis m&s etc either

I like Coach bags, over budget but they have good sales. You could also go for Radley, again not my cuppa but quite good. Maybe look at Boden too - I have a large plain black leather bag from there I bought around 5 years ago and it still looks good
