Not sure what thread number we are up to here but ALL ABOARD if you get JOY from buying and trying beauty products!!!

We sometimes enable but we also share out thoughts, support one another and generally share our love of beauty consumerism!

@Experiment627 so was it Ragdale started the Thalgo thing for you?

Experiment627 · 01/03/2023 12:26

@SpongeBobJudgeyPants actually is was La Perla in San Sebastian... I visited there in the 90s and got hooked on spas!!! They have this circuit which in parts has sea water (vair cold when I went) that you walk through - was AMAZING! Definitely want to go back there! San Sebastian is an amazing place anyhoo and this just makes it better.
I invite you to drool: la-perla.net/en

I have an empty:

  • Superdrug violet, jasmine & musk sensitive anti-perspirant deodorant: was ok but I did not like how the bottle got gunky - bad design!

Finished a full size Venn serum. It's amazing. Will likely RP but I've got a load of Estée Lauder stuff to use up first.

SpongeBobJudgeyPants · 01/03/2023 14:51

@Experiment627 I'm sorry I asked now, as I am lusting over your spa! Grin

@Experiment627 & @Thereislightattheendofthetunnel and any lovers of THALGO or LA MER, but don’t want to spend the $$$ or £££
May I introduce you to this range? I have been using these products for a while now and I am very impressed. They’re thicker and richer than any other KBeauty line, but they are designed to be warmed up between your fingers and they apply like silk. The eye cream comes with a wee cooling ball thingy (just take the plastic off the end - took me a few days to notice and I couldn’t see what the hype was about.) The other two products are just luscious, too. I suspect they actually have more active ingredients than La Mer also. My skin just glows with this stuff. I just noticed a new retinol eye serum which will be going in my basket next time!!!! .Face cream Eye cream Eye serum Milky TonerFace oil

@Fraaahnces

Thanks for the suggestion. I realised there is auk version of the website and prices look affordable so I will add it to the list of possible purchases but first have to work through my stash. I was taking inventory last Monday and it’s appalling.
I remember you mentioning some lipstains. Could you please let me know which ones are?

RosetteNebula · 02/03/2023 10:35

I have an empty - Lee Stafford Hair Apology

I got this a bit cheaper in TK Maxx. Nice smell but doesn't do anything special. Would not repurchase.

Fraaahnces · 02/03/2023 11:16

I am really enjoying this type of lip stain atm. It’s more like a traditional gloss to apply, and the feel is more like a lipstick. The first link has a more “Western” range of colours, and the next two are utterly divine K choices. The Romand is deeper and more wintery/mysterious, I guess. The Peripera has more lighter shades. I have tried all of them and can attest to their longevity and lack of crusty butt-mouthness.

if you want a slightly less glossy look, I would choose a couple of different things…
Romand Juicy Lasting Tint

I will do another one with mattes later (dinner time)

So here would be my first photo of empties, but for some reason it wouldn’t upload, so you’ll have to imagine it.

Elemis pro-collagen cleansing balm (original, 50ml size) - this is one of my staples, I use and try many cleansers but I always have one of these on the go as well. My favourite one is the rose-scented one, but I just bought a “Serenity” one and afaics it’s just a new name for the original one.

Elemis pro-collagen marine cream (one 30ml jar, one 15ml tube) - again one of my staples. The dog got the tube version (you may be able to see toothmarks at the top) which made the contents go hard and crusty, so unusually I didn’t bother cutting it in two to get the dregs out. I have loads of it in my stash, you often get it in boxes and advent calendars, but I do also buy it, from QVC TSVs mainly.

Boots Hyaluronic acid serum (30ml) - got it in the Boots advent calendar, nice and light, might repurchase.

Skinsense anti-ageing day cream (25ml) - got it in a bundle from QVC and haven’t even finished it, nothing special, would not repurchase.

CinnamonCoffee · 02/03/2023 15:54

I've just bought the Heimish cleansing balm. Does anyone know if it's any good?

LivingDeadGirlUK · 02/03/2023 19:52

I've finished a Pure day cream, not sure if they have changed this or it was just a bit old as I usually love it but felt bit greasy this time.

Thereislightattheendofthetunnel · 02/03/2023 22:18

@CinnamonCoffee probably Fraahnces. She was recommending them a few posts above yours as a substitute for Thalgo and La mer products but much more affordable

OchonAgusOchonOh · 02/03/2023 22:34

@MavisMcMinty - I'm currently using the rose Elemis balm. It smells lovely but I find it a bit over powering. I would prefer it to be a little more subtle.

I do love the Elemis balm though. I have one more in my stash when I finish this is

PomRuns · 03/03/2023 10:26

2 more from me:

Clarins hand cream. I do like this and takes me back to my 20s when I started to be able to afford nice things !
Exfolikate not a fan, dislike the smell and think it’s a bit too harsh.
I’m going to actively avoid any GWP/beauty box with this in. As it’s EVERYWHERE.

Ps The M&S Mother’s Day box looks good.

MavisMcMinty · 03/03/2023 14:57

Ooh, thanks for the heads-up on the M&S Mothers Day box, unable to resist and have just bought it, at £25 (plus P&P) that’s very good value.

PomRuns · 03/03/2023 15:09

@MavisMcMinty it’s in my basket, I think I’ll get..

MavisMcMinty · 03/03/2023 15:14

I weigh up the real value before deciding, as there are usually things I know I won’t use, but I like the sound of all 6 products in this box, and Neom candles are always extremely giftable in their attractive boxes.

Experiment627 · 03/03/2023 15:46

And just like that... I bought the M&S box... and also the Percy Reed hair oil...
It is official: I have fallen off the wagon!!!!

PomRuns · 03/03/2023 15:56

Oh I’d better get mine quick 🤣

MavisMcMinty · 03/03/2023 17:04

Did anyone get the M&S advent calendar? I didn’t realise they did one, or rather that their boxes would contain other brands than M&S’s own. Are they good, and are they expensive?

MavisMcMinty · 03/03/2023 17:05

I can see that this thread is going to be financially ruinous, by the way.

PomRuns · 03/03/2023 17:12

@MavisMcMinty I didn’t this year, but I have previously and it’s a good mix of products and good value.
i had John Lewis and then Latest in Beauty - both were good, a few things I won’t use. Generally I just pass on.

I've had it for two years now, I really like it and it's brilliant value for £40.
