Hello fragrant friends,

This is edition 33 (!) of the long running perfumista threads.

SOTD Halfeti
Kids are at holiday clubs and I’m working from home. Halfeti is my “home alone” scent. I love it, but DH and kids don’t like it so I also don’t want to inflict it on the wider world.

Halfeti is lovely 😍

@Chevyimpala67 it really is! It lasts for ages and I can’t stop sniffing myself all day - I think it’s one that’s good for my soul.

I've showered in "all is bright" whipped soap, layered with campfire marshmallow body creme and then a liberal spray of pp mmm whispers in the Library

I smell positively edible 😋

Sounds lovely. I’ve already got my SOTE planned - Kayali Vanilla layered with B&BW Warm Vanilla Sugar lotion plus maybe the Kayali hand cream too. Full on vanilla 🙂

I think I might be getting a bit too into finding lovely body wash/lotions to layer with my perfumes. This is not good - another thing to spend too much money on. I’m also eyeing up all the various beauty advent calendars that are starting to appear . . .

Both Halfeti and Vanille et Ambre sound amazing and very tempting. Resisting ordering more samples though til next week, as I'm looking forward to the Escentual Blind Box.

@FestivelyScent you can get free samples from the Penhaligon’s website - but pay for P&P. You need to do the fragrance profiling quiz first and it comes up with suggestions for two samples, but you can game the quiz to come up with Halfeti. Could try the code OUTSPOKEN to get free P&P which worked for me a few weeks ago, but I’m not sure if it’s still valid.

Interesting. I hate Halfeti, it's just too strong for me. I think it leans very masculine even though it's unisex.

SOTD Lady Vengeance JHAG.

I can see why Halfeti is one of their best sellers, it's a lovely complex perfume, but I found it a bit masc for me too.

SOTN wood jasmine. This is bold and brash and heady (almost boozy) with big expensive floozy energy (everything about it is a bit /too much/ but I could see how it would be stunning on the right person). Also now my sheets smell of plums and jasmine :)

SOTD light blue intense

If anyone fancies trying some Ormonde Jayne, the discovery sets are reduced to £25 (from £42) on their site at the moment.

SOTD is Merchant of Venice Gyokuro. This is an easy to wear lotus/tea scent, good for the office. Finished up the sample today, won't be repurchasing as there are other similar scents I prefer.

SOTD is By the Fireplace. It's the perfume equivalent of a warm, cozy hug. The perfect antidote to a grey morning. It's pouring with rain here and our lovely but elderly cat has been hospitalised. Fingers crossed for her.

I just had a look on Escentual to try and find out what time the almond box reveal is and they seem to have already switched it over and the September vanilla box looks available to buy now.

I spotted that last night but didn't want to say. The hardest part is waiting for the reveal! I always buy a week late but it still feels like a long wait. I've enjoyed a lot of the almond box. I've had a crap day at work and a few glasses of wine so I worry for my bank balance after tonight's reveal 🤣 even worse, I know that vanilla is one of my favourite scents so next month will be expensive too.

Oh @ThreeImaginaryBoys sorry to hear about your cat. We lost one to hypertrophic cardiomyopathy last year, she was only 3 and a half. We're still not over it. I hope yours is ok.

Thank you. The cat (she's 17) is diabetic and is apparently suffering from pancreatitis. She's responding to treatment. To be honest I thought she might not make it through the night but things are looking up!

Perfume is keeping me warm and cozy :)

And in another thread (about 'clean' scents) someone mentioned the brand Mixture. They're based in Kansas. Anyone know if they ship/stock here?
