Lol thanks @EllaPaella ! And I know what you mean about boring clothes, I'm bored senseless of all my choices at the moment and looking forward to the seasons changing properly.

Not very exciting outfit but just doing comfortable today.

I've had to ask everyone to wear dark colours at work, we sell to the funeral industry so they very much follow protocol. I'm sure everyone will be fine (most usually seem to be in dark colours normally) except me I have very little black and I've left my one black blazer in one of our offices 150 miles from my house 🤦‍♀️

I’m 8-10 & the M was big. Workable if you’re tucking it in, but quite a lot of excess material at the sides as it’s a boxy shape. Mine is arriving in a Small on Monday.

@WhatsThisThingCalledMotherhood I’d say it’s more of an ecru. It’s not bright white or a warm cream.

I quite like that dress @EllaPaella I like the collar.

Tomorrow will be a big test for me as I think I’m staying home. The temptation to just wear old joggers is STRONG especially after being all dressed up today

Today I made a bit more of an effort than yesterday.
Top - Boden
Skirt - Berthie (apart from the print, it is identical to another Berthie skirt I own. Except this is size 38 and it's too big on me, while my other skirt is size 36 and it's too small).

I was surprised when DH complimented my look today. He doesn't like skirts or dresses, but this skirt is apparently okay

@Cardigansalltheway - my boss came to work yesterday wearing a black tie. Which looked odd - especially as he was still wearing jeans/trainers.

@Sunsea21 - welcome! It’s a lovely friendly thread, and it definitely makes me think about spending time on me.

@EllaPaella - I’m finding something similar. I’m increasingly a 10 rather than an 8 despite my weight being stable. I suspect peri menopause is to blame, and that I’m carrying the weight differently.

@Sickoffamilydrama - I keep forgetting to say how much I adore your green jeans.

Right, I think I’m all caught up. I’m slowly trying to transition to my autumn wardrobe (and remember what clothes I already have before buying any more). Apparently it’s mostly Boden!!

@EllaPaella I’m not overly taken by the m and s knitted dress. You have a fabulous figure and I have seen you in far nicer things. I like the h and m knitted dress the one with the 3 buttons. I’ve ordered a green one - mainly as the material is cotton and flushes after my op are 🤯 hopefully I’ll get HRT sorted at my 6 week check. I am hoping that the dress comes and is of a reasonable thickness and not paper thin. If it is it will go back.

They had some of the 501’s cropped on the next sale site.

Despite my wish to nurse my head this morning, we ended up going to Shul (I’m doing a Jewish conversion course). So I had to get dressed in something other than joggers.

Jumper: Mint Velvet

Now I’m back home I’m straight in to my joggers! Set from Matalan. This weekend I’m hoping to pack away my summer clothes (keeping a few bits back just in case). It’ll give me the chance to see what I actually have and where the gaps are. Hoping I have enough for a workable capsule wardrobe, especially with the bits coming Monday.

I’ve never actually managed to properly clear out my wardrobe as the seasons changed, you’ve inspired me to try! @happytobemrsg do you just have summer and winter capsule wardrobes, or do you have some in-between pieces too? I’d love to try to do a capsule wardrobe but not quite confident enough…!

Running round a farm park with my 3 plus my nephews all day today. Wore black Gabor ankle boots mainly but my Joules Wellibobs got their first outing in the potato-picking field!

@toucaninjapan love your blue skirt. @EllaPaella I really like the wool dress. M&S went really weird for about 10 years so it's great to see them return to form. @OublietteBravo sounds like your boss was erring on the side of caution but that does sound like a slightly strange combo!

A v boring housework/jobs outfit today but I couldn't resist showing off my newly done nails. I've got a very stressful and busy week at work coming up, so I've had them done in a colour called Girl Power to give me a little boost.

@WhatsThisThingCalledMotherhood I managed to have a capsule wardrobe for this spring & summer. I think they key thing is having “transitional pieces”. So things like blazers and chunky cardigans. I also tend to stick with colour palettes so everything goes with everything else. In spring then into summer I wore lots of coral, pink, light blue, sage & some green with white/camel (I’ve attached a photo of most of my late spring/summer clothes). Everything mixed & matched. I really got into printed trousers towards the end of summer. For autumn I’ll still be wearing coral, camel & greens but my neutrals will be more black & navy. I also tend to wear one-pieces more in Autumn like midi dresses & jumpsuits. If anyone is interested I’ll post a pic of my autumn clothes once I’ve sorted it all out!

Out to dinner tonight for DH's birthday. I do struggle with in between seasons. I'm not ready for tights yet! And being post meno I'm mindful of over heating

@happytobemrsg Thankyou, that’s so inspiring. And so organised! Do you keep records of the items in your wardrobe? I love the colour palette, very spring/summery. Would love to see your autumn/winter wardrobe when you’re sorted.

I’m a summer in my colouring so colours like greens and camel really don’t suit me, and I have to be careful with corals and reds to get the right hues. I’m not brave with it so I always default back to white/navy/black/blues, you’re inspiring me to branch out and be more confident with colour!

@WhatsThisThingCalledMotherhood I use the Stylebook app so I record a “look” each day (though I have been slack lately). To do that I need to upload all of my clothes. It helps me put together looks & like this thread, it encourages me to make an effort.

Today has been very productive!! I’ve packed away all my summer bits (bar some t-shirts) & made a list of all my Autumn/Winter bits. I’ve learnt I have enough trousers, jeans & thin knits. I’d like a couple more jumpsuits & I ordered a khaki one from Wallis in the sale.

Where does everyone buy their loungewear? I don't want to wear Uniqlo like practically everybody else in the neighborhood on trash days (and I don't think Uniqlo's loungewear is pretty).
I had a look at Next and saw some velour sets from Lipsy, they are cheap and the reviews seem to be quite good, but have anyone tried buying from them?

Today I was wearing Sezane's silk blouse with some very ancient skirt which I used to wear to the office a lot pre-Covid. This skirt sits at natural waist unlike that too big skirt from yesterday, but somehow DH still prefers the blue skirt. Oh well.
