Morning!

Gah had some Levi 501’s delivered from ASOS today. Apart from they weren’t Levi 501’s 🤦‍♀️ Ordering on mine isn’t going so well for me at the moment!

put a loose dress on today so it’s not on my dressings. Seem to be getting more and more bloated 😳

Dress ASOS. Ordered as I liked the colour and it is cotton so good for hot flushes!

Think I could wear with trainers, cons and Doc’s.

@Sooverthemill oh that's too bad!
I've also received my first order today. Once I put Emile knit on, it felt extremely itchy on my skin (is it because of the super kid mohair?), but while I was checking out how it looks on me in the mirror, suddenly it stopped itching at all. Took about a minute from extremely itchy to (almost) nothing at all. Wonder what's this magic?
I've also seen some promo photos for that jumper I was curious to see, and so far I'm not too keen on the design, but I'll need to see more pictures to figure out whether I can possibly wear this type of sweater much or not. Confused

That's actually a gorgeous autumn dress @Softpebbles - though I appreciate you might prefer to be wearing something else!

I've forgotten how to dress for autumn! I'm in a Me and Em sweatshirt and Patagonia trousers, about to slip on a sexy North Face anorak for a rainy dog walk!

@faffadoodledo how can you have rain? We are sweltering here!

PalacePaper · 03/09/2022 18:03

I absolutely love the colours in that jumper @toucaninjapan

Fab jumpsuit @WestrayWife I'm very tempted to try to see if it's a good alternative to dungarees for me.

Today:
Top - Jaeger (charity shop)
Jeans - M&S

@Sooverthemill chucking it down! In stark contrast to yesterday when after a morning's work me and DH dashed down to the beach and lounged in sunshine and glassy waters. I had a feeling it would be the last proper day of summer. So glad we didn't waste it!

faffadoodledo · 03/09/2022 18:36

Another name change fail! Might as well fess up - changed name bc DD has moved into a new flat in London with the dreaded things. Landlord has put them in a nice Premier Inn but garghhh the videos she sent are horrid!!

WestrayWife · 03/09/2022 18:46

@Softpebbles I really like that dress - perfect for autumn.

@Sooverthemill can we swap locations?! Definitely not warm here anymore, although it was a bit better this afternoon when the sun broke through.

Sorry for the rubbish photo - I was running out the door to take DD to a party.

Jacket - All Saints (think @Purplecatshopaholic has the same one)
Top - Aquascutum (truly ancient)
Skirt - Boden
Tights - Snag
Boots - Sainsburys
Bag - & Other Stories

Some gorgeous weekend outfits!

@toucaninjapan I love that dress! I love joules for tops but every time I’ve tried their dresses I feel like the dresses are wearing me rather than the other way round. I probably need to go in and shop in person by myself to have a chance to try them on properly…

This afternoon was my babies’ baptism so a casual morning doing jobs and getting ready before the event!

Top: Zara
Jeans: Levis
Sandals: as previous

Dress: Seraphine (nursing)
Shoes: New Look

Nice top @WhatsThisThingCalledMotherhood

Got back on Thursday after an overnight flight so spent most of then and Friday shattered. Done about a million loads of washing not sure how when we only took hand luggage.

Just packing all my summer stuff away so expect a heatwave, it is supposed to rain here for the next 10 days.

I might have ordered a couple of things in the Next sale after a strong cocktail on holiday actually really pleased with a couple of them.

T shirt Vegan Outfitters
Jeans M & S

Ignore the weird pose with pink top 🤦‍♀️

Really love your style @toucaninjapan ! Where is the jumper from (the one with the open back)?

I’ve been really getting into wide leg trousers recently, should be less lazy & take photos! I’ve attached a photo of my faves from Zara.

Getting ready for autumn so I did a big online shopping spree yesterday. Bought 7 (!) buggy jumper dresses (thinking of wearing them with thick black tights & my OTK black boots from Clark’s (I think they are called Caddy). Office is casual so some of the dresses are hoodie dresses which I think will look cute with the boots. Also bought some wide leg trousers from Zara in a green-blue (pic attached) & a couple of thin knits. If all goes to plan I think I just need a pair of very comfy black leather trainers & im done (… famous last words…)

Such a lovely blouse @toucaninjapan, not a label I’ve come across before.

A quiet Sunday here, with church this morning and seeing my parents this afternoon. But a friend gave me this top after I had my 2nd and today is the first time it’s fit well enough to get an outing!

Top: Lily and Mae
Jeans and sandals: as before

yasminisa · 04/09/2022 13:47

I've been looking over this thread, and my word, you ladies look gorgeous!
I've really been slacking this past year, and now feel quite depressed. The COL looming crisis, is not helping me at all.
I've decided I need perking up with a bit more thinking about me. I've really neglected myself, had a lot going on with trying to support autistic ds with his transition to uni life, and it's all been so stressful. I've drank far more than I meant to, so starting back on intermittent fasting from this week, (ahem tomorrow), a trip to the hairdresser, and an effort to look less like I've crawled out from the nearest bush.

yasminisa · 04/09/2022 13:49

I mean I literally have leaves, and sometimes dog hair in my hair and my clothes. Sometimes dog food too 😬 my nails are awful.
I have clothes in my wardrobe that haven't been worn.
I don't know if I'm brave enough to post, but just want to thank you all for this amazing thread

faffadoodledo · 04/09/2022 15:12

@yasminisa I don't post pics here often enough (mostly because there'd be so many repeats!). But I have found that intending to post ups my game a bit. I might think, 'Hang on, does this look better with a belt?' Or 'If I tuck my shirt in I'll look better'. That kind of thing.
I also get
Fabulous ideas from the other posters. It's a great little community. Get posting!

WhatsThisThingCalledMotherhood · 04/09/2022 15:28

@yasminisa I agree with @faffadoodledo, checking in with this thread motivates me to consider what I’m wearing and I get loads of inspiration from the other ladies about different ways I could pair items etc. I’ve posted a lot recently because I’m new but I only have about 3 tops which currently fit and I haven’t already posted, so I’ll slow down considerably in the next week 😂

I am already finding that just a little bit of thought about what I’m wearing makes me feel better about myself all day, I hope this thread does the same for you ❤️ From my experience everyone is very welcoming and supportive 😁

Cardigansalltheway · 04/09/2022 15:54

@WestrayWife love the colours of your outfit yesterday, very elegant and autumnal!

Still hot here, still no sign of rain or getting any cooler.

Tee: Hush
Skirt: Oliver Bonas
Trainers: Adidas, have definitely seen better days but we're off to a nearby RHS garden so don't want to wear my white vejas on the grass and in the woodland even though it's been so dry.

Cardigansalltheway · 04/09/2022 15:58

@yasminisa welcome to the thread, I'm relatively new and can confirm that everyone is lovely ☺️. @WhatsThisThingCalledMotherhood I think that you joined while I was away and not keeping up with the thread, a belated welcome and I think you look fab!

WestrayWife · 04/09/2022 16:01

Welcome @yasminisa - I'm a big fan of intermittent fasting too, definitely feel more in control of my life when I'm doing it! I do 16/8 or 14/10 as maintenance after losing about 4 stone with 5:2 after DD was born.

I agree that this thread is great for ideas and inspiration - and taking a photo, even if you don't post it, can help work out what does/doesn't suit you and what type of clothes you get the most wear out of.
