I feel that these shorts (and many trousers I've tried on recently) are taking high waist theme a little bit too far. Sometimes trousers can look too high-waisted even on models (at least it looks a bit too much for me here on these Sezane trousers - see the screenshot). I forgot who was saying they want the low waist trend back (@OublietteBravo , was that you?), but I totally agree.

I love high waists! Loathe low waisted trousers, really hated it when it was last 'in'. Always hoisting up the waist! The higher the better for me but never paperbag like those Austin trousers @toucaninjapan

I love high waisted to low waisted does not work with my shape at all.

Went to The tomb of the Kings today DH and I realised we didn't take any photos though so this is one stolen from the internet. I should have reenacted a photo of me my Mum took there when I was about 15 which is the same age as my DD now.

So glad of this dress today in the heat

Today DH and I had a date while DD was at the nursery. Spent a lovely lovely day walking around Ginza (I guess you can call it main shopping street?) in Tokyo.

@toucaninjapan japan looks so different to anywhere I’ve been. DH went for 6 weeks straight out of Uni and talks about it often
its drizzled! Well for 10 minutes and it’s definitely still shorts weather, so humid
gutted because DH is coming back a day early! Was enjoying the peace oh well

i have been really trying not to spend any money on clothes this month ( apart from the waistcoat) but 2 items on my wish list came up in the sale yesterday so I’ve got those. I reckon we still have until end of September for decent weather so will get value this year. I’ve also sold far more than I’ve bought this year which is good

I know we still have a lot of summer left and realistically it isn't going to be anything other than nice and mild for ages yet but I have been looking at autumn/winter boots and ordered these beauties https://www.drmartens.com/uk/en_gb/2976-alyson-w-zips-brown/p/24017201 which I prefer to the usual DM Chelsea boots as I love the zip. Looking forward to dressing for cold, crispy autumn weather again.

What have you all got your eyes on for autumn? I don't need much at all but do want a pair of black straight leg Levi's and maybe a red or orange jumper (or a fox jumper like Toucan's)

My daughter went for a week to Tokyo when she was about 14, for a sports competition. They did some sightseeing and shopping. She commented on frequent mini earthquakes whilst on the underground trains though!

Re autumn clothing. I've got my shein crazy jeans and some jumpers I want some comfy black cords. I've got some leather converse hi tops I bought in July that I am looking forward to wearing too.
I've got some chunky laceup boots to wear with midi dresses for work but would like new boots. Unsure whether to go knee high or cowboy though.!

Yes - it was me lamenting the current high waisted styles. They don’t really work for me.

Im so jealous @Sickoffamilydrama. I love Paphos. In fact I was on holiday there when I first joined this thread back in October 2019.

I’m trying not to look at the A/W collections @EllaPaella. DH just found out he’s being made redundant again (second time in as many years), so I need to rein my spending in until he finds something else. I have plenty of clothes to choose from, so I really don’t need more.

Going on holiday tomorrow, so might be AWOL for a bit.

@Rollerbird - fortunately I’m the main earner. It’s a PITA and we might have to put house renovations on hold, but we’re not going to run out of money. I’d rather have found out after the holiday though!

Currently looking at New Balance (they have some really interesting colours) and Adidas. But I can't quite yet bring myself to fully engage with the thought of autumn clothing!

Regarding the earthquakes, I must say it's really hard to feel mini earthquakes if you are inside something moving like train or car or if you are walking. But some trains on certain lines joggle between stations when changing rails and in most cases you will hear an announcement beforehand, something along the lines "please grasp to a handrail, the train will joggle soon" (though I believe they announce it in Japanese only). They really shake at a lot!
I remember my first night in Tokyo when I came here as an exchange student, there happened to be quite an earthquake at night and sleepy me thought somebody entered my room and was violently shaking my bed! I only realized what really happened in the morning haha.

Last week of the school holidays here so have been labelling school uniform and buying school shoes so far this week! This always makes me feel autumnal (my favourite season for clothes) - love the DM boots @EllaPaella, look forward to hearing about them when they arrive.

Love the boots @EllaPaella I had them but sold as they were too big. Then I got my black leather fur lined Chelsea pull on Docs. Always regret getting the black ones to be honest.

lovely outfits as always. I’ve been missing in action as life has been mental. I went away earlier in the month but had to cut my holiday short. We’ve been moving house for forever and finally moved last week, DH was then ill and needed an ambulance and tomorrow (negative covid test permitting) I go in to have surgery for treatment of endo and adenomyosis. 🤦‍♀️

For winter is like some straight leg jeans. I can’t think of much else at the moment. I’m banking on flowy dresses and joggers to get me through the next month!
