Not too small at all @toucaninjapan and the colour is beautiful! If you still feel that the top showing isn’t quite right something that I find works really well is to wear a shirt that I’ve tied at the front. The tie then distracts the eye from the button and often covers it as well. But I don’t think it’s necessary in this case, you look great!

EllaPaella · 19/08/2022 15:15

You have a fantastic figure @toucaninjapan and I don't think the shorts are too small. It might just be how they are cut? I think you would look amazing in a pair of high wait shorts, you have the perfect waist for high cut - lovely and slim.

Sickoffamilydrama · 19/08/2022 16:08

All shorts do that to me @toucaninjapan and they probably are fighting to accommodate my rather generous hips.

Being brave and posting a photo of my new swimming costume it's quite high cut on the bum but actually really flattering band has a pretty back.

I admire your bravery @Sickoffamilydrama - you look fabulous in the swimsuit!

It really felt quite autumnal this morning, although it is supposed to warm up. I really need to get my brain in gear and sort out what I’m taking on holiday - we leave on Tuesday.

You look fantastic in that swimsuit @Sickoffamilydrama !
That’s actually a brilliant idea with tying the shirt, thank you @Cardigansalltheway , I’ve never thought of that, but I’m going to try it!
Thank you @EllaPaella , you’ve inspired me to wear my red high-waisted shorts which I bought a couple of weeks ago, but had no chance to wear them until now. They are a bit too short though, I was conscious today while bending over or running after my toddler.

We went to an aquarium today and then did a bit of shopping at the nearby mall. I’ve been buying a lot of decor lately, so I stopped by some flower shop to see their vases and flower arrangements, when suddenly I saw this little decorative bottle with some violet stones and empty cicada shells inside. Is this a thing now? I know some people have displays of butterflies at home (which is still somewhat rare), but cicadas? I thought these were cockroaches at first! Grin

Thanks all it's so easy to worry about swimwear but actually everyone is far to busy relaxing and having fun to care what you look like.

The only two people I know who negatively comment on other people's weight/bodies are possibly anorexic or have really disordered eating to the point that they had osteoporosis start in their mid 30s

Last night's dress it doesn't work with this bag but had to take my other bag out to make so space.

I have a couple of bug in resin bangles at home @toucaninjapan I'll have to take a photo of them when I get back, I don't really like one of them as the bugs look to creepy but one of them has the most beautiful coloured bettles in it.

Rollerbird · 20/08/2022 17:55

Another work selfie
All I can say to you @toucaninjapan is ewwww!!!!

Sooverthemill · 21/08/2022 07:20

Hope she feels better soon @Sickoffamilydrama . If it's any consolation, DD literally threw up into her bowl on the first night of a holiday once. She said she was tired and not hungry but mean mummy that I was I insisted she try to eat something. Lesson learned. We had to walk past the restaurant at least twice a day after as it was 2 doors down from our apartment. Greek people are very kind though and DH speaks Greek so he heard them being sympathetic not horrified!

Sooverthemill · 21/08/2022 08:18

Still no rain! Went for walk in the dog friendly harbour beach yesterday and it was perfect! Breezy so lots of people trying to surf and loads of dogs and young families. This beach is special as it’s next to the campsite where we used to bring the kids for long weekends when they were tiny, it had a very French Atlantic coast feel.

still warm!

Amazing sunset @Sickoffamilydrama. I’m jealous! We’re heading off on holiday this week, but the forecast is for cloud/rain (I really shouldn’t leave holiday booking to DH).

Just about cool enough for dungarees for the first time in ages.

Top: Etam
Dungarees: Boden
Trainers: M&S

toucaninjapan · 21/08/2022 12:19

Love your skirt @Sooverthemill and green dungarees @OublietteBravo .
I went dancing today for the first time in 2 or 3 months. Asked my teacher to come and we danced non-stop for an hour, I'm expecting some sore muscles tomorrow!

Hope your DD feels better soon @Sickoffamilydrama, it looks like you're in a lovely spot. @Sooverthemill you must have been mortified in the restaurant, how lovely that the staff were so sympathetic!

A nice relaxing day of pottering in the house and garden and now off to meet adult DS for a dog walk.

Been reluctant to participate latterly because everything ins on repeat. Then I found this old Boden jersey dress in a drawer and felt it deserved an outing.
Have enjoyed hearing of holiday adventures and seeing outfits. So thank you, ladies

We are in Paphos, Cyprus @EllaPaella my aunt and uncle were posted here just outside Limassol just before the gulf war started so I spent a lot of the 80&90s visiting them as a kid and know the island quite well. Wanted the bring the children to see this lovely Island so far they have seen the pool and a bit of the town!!!

When DD gets better her and I are going into the mountains to the monasteries

Yes the Greek people have always been lovely whenever I've come @Sooverthemill I'm jealous of your DH being able to speak Greek, I really want to learn more languages & Great outfit.

Love your outfit @toucaninjapan

Nice dress @faffadoodledo

This literally has been my outfit all day with DH borrowed T shirt for playing in the pool with DS

Bikini Pour moi

Sooverthemill · 21/08/2022 20:09

I'd love to go to Cyprus @Sickoffamilydrama ive been to loads of Greek places but never Cyprus. DH is a bit of a linguist so finds languages absurdly easy. He has Ancient Greek and decided about 20 years ago to learn modern Greek. He found a lovely Athenian tutor who taught English at a then local to us school. He said it wasn't difficult but he does occasionally use an Ancient Greek word by mistake! Got us out of many tricky situations in Greece and we've had some lovely experiences as a result of him chatting to locals. I'd love to live there.

Sooverthemill · 22/08/2022 08:36

Another hot day forecast. DH is off for a few days finalising the arrangements for his musical so I have a few days of quiet
