Bought one more dress for holiday from Next

Have managed to fit everything into hand luggage let's see how I do over the 2 weeks
I have:
5 dresses
1 beach dress
2 pairs of shorts
6 Tops/t shirts
1 Shirt
1 pair trousers
1 pair of sandals
2 Bikinis
1 Swim suit

Ignore the packing mess surrounding me!

And I forgot 1 skirt, that is plenty to my mind but been a long time since I was away.

I'm still knackered from Covid and it's +36 today, no way I'm walking with DD in the sling, I'd rather pay for taxi than collapse halfway!
I'm wearing Graniph dress which I think I've shown earlier.

We had a lovely time, mainly very relaxed with me having mild panic attacks about DD but mooched in bookshops, trendy little cafes, spent a fortune in John Lewis kitchen department ( who knew how excited DH gets by kitchen equipment) and we just chatted and sat and drank and ate huge amounts of food ( DH eats about once an hour which i had forgotten). It’s a beautiful city and the restaurant we went to did just the best food. The hotel want very good for lactose intolerant people which was annoying as they’d had 6 weeks notice and breakfast was served by basil fawlty

but we also just had time to pop into pets at home and get DD a hamster from the adoption but where they take surrendered pets.
DS had to rush off to deal with staffing crisis at the pizzeria but it was just so nice to be a grown up and not do anything except what I / we wanted to! Highly recommend going away every 9 years!

I went to university in Norwich (in 1984!!). And still have odd dreams about wandering its streets. I expect much has changed since then! I just go back and see for myself.

@faffadoodledo I was there for an academic year 1980-81. I worked but my then BF was at the teacher training college. It's changed a great deal but still fabulous.

Finally cooler today. The rain did eventually arrive yesterday. I drove home through one of the heaviest showers I’ve ever experienced. I couldn’t see much even with the wipers on max speed, and the A6 was more of a river than I road. I was glad I knew the route I was driving intimately!

Trousers: Gap (ancient - but keep surviving the cull as they’re quite low rise and thus not easy to replace at the moment. I hope the high waist trend ends soon).

Never thought I'd say this but I'm enjoying the cooler weather and it's a relief to be back in jeans, I was seriously running out of clothes.

Weird weather this week! Thunder storms, then heavy rain, and now it’s nice again for the moment. WFH today so don’t have to go anywhere. All Saints dress with a linen tunic/tabard-thing, and Doc sandals. The tabard thing is maybe for crafting which I dont do, but I like a layered look, and handy pockets..
