I hate having big boobs!

There's a current thread where a woman was shamed for being ' flatchested' and whilst I understood how mortified she felt by a so called friend commenting unkindly on it, it did make me think about how very much I dislike my 34g boobs.

Why? Because most fashions don't suit me. I either look frumpy or trashy. Those surrendered wife dresses that are so fashionable right now just look matronly on me, jackets and dresses are either tight on the top or too big on the hips, I have to wear either figure hugging outfits or ones that make me look huge all over, often when I go shopping I feel like I'm am alien as clothes are just not cut to fit my shape.

Even Pepperberry, which has gone out of business, wasn't great. And then, there's a snooty thread saying how you shouldn't wear cardigans, and especially not waterfall ones. Well, those are THE ONLY ONES THAT SUIT MY SHAPE!!

I remember once going on a date with a guy and I was wearing a wrap dress and when I said afterwards why I didn't want t
o go home with him, he said, well why were you wearing a dress like that??

Why is it so hard to find decent clothes..??

I'm a 36G and hate it.

I felt self conscious in the gym before the last lockdown especially as despite wearing a good fitted sports bra AND a top over it, one of the trainers has noticed my chest & his mates made up a nickname for me relating to my chest I kid you not.
So I need to go back there to get fit but I'm now a bit nervous. Not sure what to do about it.

I've had to leave a local pub because of mens comments & also I had to leave a small club in Ibiza because these yacht lads were pestering me.

At present finding something to wear is a nightmare. Most dresses just don't look right. I generally stick to T-shirts with jeans, shorts or skirts.
One success was is a pale pink denim jacket from Next, cut for a larger chest size.

I wouldn't have a reduction as a colleague nearly died durjng hers. I do get upper back pain though.

knackeredcat · 04/07/2022 12:02

36J and 5' 3". Nothing whatsoever lost from my boobs despite an almost 4 stone weight loss. If anything it's harder to find bras now than when I was heavier and a 40G. And there are too many unflattering necklines around at the moment (which also do nothing for my ever slackening jawline - sob)!

V necks are flattering but often too plunging. Ditto square necks, but often too revealing! I eschew button tops, but like wearing linen midi shirt dresses (maxi length on me) opened over longer A line tops and loose culottes (ankle length on me). Floating rather than swamped is the aim.

wonkylegs · 04/07/2022 12:29

I hate mine now
They were always generous but now after 2 kids and in my 40s they are huge (32G)
I'm only 4'11 and although I'm now a size 10/12 which is slightly better than when I was a 6/8 proportion wise does tend to tip me into matronly if I'm not careful. I also have a proper hour glass figure small waist with larger arse which I know lots of people say should be great - it really isn't when trying to find clothes (ok ballgowns look great but I don't get to wear them very often)
I'm currently slowly but surely loosing a little weight but the boobs seem to be here to stay.
I struggle to buy bras because although there are more DD+ sizes available than there used to be because I'm a shortarse often the straps or cut, hits in the wrong place because my body is shorter and the adjustment doesn't work right.
I'm currently trying to find a flattering top for a wedding and it's almost brought me to tears.

Missillusioned · 04/07/2022 12:45

I'm a 30J and I have had some success wearing button front tops with the top few buttons undone and a camisole underneath. Having said that, I'm ok with being busty and don't really try to cover them up. As a teen I was a bit embarrassed about them but now I like people noticing. I've not really had much hassle from either men or women about them - sometimes I think people notice if you're insecure about something and then just home in on it like predators.

I've also never had back pain with them. I do weight train and I think that helps with posture.

ChipsRoastOrBoiled · 04/07/2022 12:48

I've lost 2 stone since March and, while my band size has gone from 36 to my more usual 34, my cup size is still FF. I'd love to be something like a D cup, not flat but not too big either.

I share your stress with clothes shopping. I have a few dresses that don't make me look all boob, but I think separates often work better for us.

I can only find one make of bra that I feel well supported & shapely in so I've bought enough to last me years! If I try on a balconette bra, plunge etc I feel like I'm about to fall out, so I'm sticking with what I know.

Mumsafan · 04/07/2022 12:53

I had big boobs from aged about 15 til 50. I hated it. I couldn't wear anything decent as the rest of me was a size 10 . I had to put up with all sorts of vile comments from people, mainly men but the odd female as well.

Eventually the stress and the weight of them led me to go to my GP. I had a breast reduction on the NHS. It was a total life saver! It has changed my life completely!

The surgeon told me that it is the most life changing operation he performs and it's usually women in their mid to late 40s and early 50s who have finally had enough!

I realise not every area offers this but it is worth looking into.

ilovecherries · 04/07/2022 13:00

I had a reduction three years ago. Furious really as still a 32G (I was a 32K before but the surgeon claimed a c/d was possible - and also he says that’s what I am! Yeah right, maybe if I wear a 40 back I’d fit into a D cup). I’m also cosmetically not in great shape. Overall hugely disappointing. I was going to get it redone but then covid happened. Hospital very happy to take your money, but as soon as it goes wrong they aren’t interested. Very bitter about it all. Having them hoisted into the right position does make a difference when I’m dressed but it’s nothing like what I hoped for.

Oceanus · 04/07/2022 13:14

@ilovecherries, this is cheeky but maybe you can write down where you are (the region, I'm not asking you to say were you had surgery because I don't want you to get in trouble) and if people here are in the same area and thinking about doing the same surgery they can PM you to ask for the doctor's name, if you're comfortable, so they can avoid him.
IMHO, bad doctors are unlikely to wake up and become better all of the sudden! I wouldn't want to risk a surgeon like yours.

It was in the north east. I have had two reassessments with other surgeons and both said it needed substantial work to get to somewhere they’d consider acceptable.

cicatrix1 · 04/07/2022 13:24

I have only read the title (at the moment)I HATE my big bust.....Bravissimo own brand 32 jj 🙁

KatharinaRosalie · 04/07/2022 13:40

There are SO many women complaining about gaping shirts and blouses, you would think there would be some brands that would add a touch more material and maybe some extra buttons? I'm just 30FF/G, so can normally wear high street stretchy clothes, but not anything with buttons. However, I can recommend www.eshakti.com - you can get any of their clothes made to your measurements. I have several shirt dresses from there that actually fit both boobs and waist.

BobbinThreadbare123 · 04/07/2022 13:57

I used to buy a style of buttoned top from M&S with a double button placket ie normal looking button down with extra mini buttons on the inside of it. Not sure I've described that well! They don't seem to sell them any more though. I don't even think my bust is that big really - I'm a 30H but I'm a 10/12 and above average height. But I certainly can't wear a shirt or buttoned dress in my own size.

whenwillthemadnessend · 04/07/2022 07:34

I'm a 36 g. I am looking at a reduction soon. Just got to make the call to get the appointment.

I'm a bit nervous but fed up with
Backache
Itchy sore skin underneath boobs
Clothes and bras not fitting well

I feel for you all

I was quoted £7000 in a uk private hospital those that are looking.

As a comparison I paid £2000 in Poland for mine.

Fairislefandango · 04/07/2022 17:45

I'm only 36E/F and I feel the same. Current fashions drive me mad. I either look bosomy in a matronly way or I look like a marquee with fabric hanging straight from my boobs and hiding my waist.

Mariposa80 · 04/07/2022 18:05

I seriously looked into a reduction but was put off by reports they can just grow back again!

Finding clothes that fit is no longer as much of an issue due to covid and wfh and general relaxing of dress codes in the industry I'm in. I can live in sweatshirts most of the time.

I hate my boobs. 32GG here. I love the maxi dresses that look a bit Amish but they hang down at the largest part of my boobs and just dont suit me.

Blouses are a nightmare, jackets are a nightmare, cardigans are a nightmare. Though Pour Moi bikini tops are good and offer good support.

For plain shirts, I tend to get mens medium as they are good sleeve length, fit over my boobs without clinging and suit my shape whereas I ordered plain white t shirt from m&s and the 14, 16 and 18 squashed them down

EddieVeddersfoxymop · 04/07/2022 18:19

34GG here and I absolutely hate them. I'm a 12 but need to buy a 16 to fit them so overall I look massive. They hurt my back and neck which causes chronic migraine and don't get me started on the skin issues because they get so hot and sweaty.

We've lost our Bravissimo, John Lewis and Debenhams so literally have nowhere to buy underwear from. I long to walk into primark and buy a heap of pretty underwear for not much money instead of £40 for one ugly thing.

I'd have a reduction if I could afford it but I know I'd be the one that they'd just grow back again. I've lost weight, really toned up and still have these giant boobs. They make me so unhappy.

MrsMigginsCat · 04/07/2022 18:20

I have found my people. I'm a 36H and my boobs enter a room before me. I hate them. I look matronly in all my clothes, I have neck and backache much of the time, and they just look ugly. I can't afford a private reduction in the UK, but am interested in knowing more from anyone who had it done abroad.

lurchermummy · 04/07/2022 18:20

J cup here and agree with everything that has been said. Ironically even breastfeeding was really difficult.

purdypuma · 04/07/2022 18:47

I'm only a 38D which is small In comparison to a lot on here but they're saggy & just hang despite never having kids! Can't wear anything without a bra & I have to size up to accommodate them...size 12 otherwise but had to return a size 14 dress last week which fitted everywhere else but my boobs even with a minimiser bra...aarrgghh!! I just find them hideously cumbersome & first thing on my list of priorities when I win the lottery is to get the buggers reduced & uplifted significantly!

whenwillthemadnessend · 04/07/2022 18:49

Those of you that had the op. Did you find you had to buy a whole new wardrobe or did the stuff you had look ok?

Obviously need to get bras but that's fine. I'm not buying anymore new bras until the op is done.

I found it's not that you NEED new clothes but after reduction I WANTED some new clothes and to wear things I hadn't previously been able to.

To the PP saying they would t get a reduction because they'll just grow back....it's really not that common and if you don't gain a ton of weight then they shouldn't grow back necessarily - obviously there are exceptions to the rule.

I totally get this, I’m a 34HH, they’re the bane of my life! I do buy bras from eBay so manage to get them about half price, brand new ones too! Also worth checking out Simply Be as they always seem to have offers, handy for bras. Jackets are so difficult to find as well, either far too big or they make a weird shape and they don’t hang right. I do feel sorry for my DD, got her measured the other day and she’s 32G, bless her she’s only 15 :(

I’m the same as you, 34/36 HH. I have 3 DDs, I made it clear when DH and I started a family that if the girls take after me, which is very likely as both my mother and grandmother had big boobs, then we would 100% be paying for breast reductions for them if they ever wanted them. It’s definitely something I regretted not doing when I was younger and I don’t want my DDs to go through all the physical and phycological pain. Nor do I want random blokes coming up to them shouting best fucking tits in here. I want them to feel confident in their bodies. My 10yo is already terrified she’s going to get big boobs, she’s really sporty and is worried if she gets them she won’t be able to do the things she loves.

swedex · 04/07/2022 19:12

I've found my people! I'm a 34j and I hate them! They are so heavy, they get sore underneath, bras dig into my shoulders and I spend a fortune on bras and swim wear.
Whenever I see a picture of myself I realise just how big they are as well. I try to wear darker t shirts and tops just to try and hide them .
I've 3 kids and bf was difficult especially with number 1 trying to find a way of not completely exposing my whole chest. I cut holes in vest and had all sorts of layers of clothing so I could feed.
I would love a reduction but affording it right now isn't an option. I keep thinking they'll reduce in size when I lose some weight but it hasn't happened!

Say what?! I think once they're gone they're gone. Mine haven't grown back an inch! Well, apart from me putting on a bit of weight everywhere I can honestly say they haven't exactly gotten much bigger.
