I hate having big boobs!

There's a current thread where a woman was shamed for being ' flatchested' and whilst I understood how mortified she felt by a so called friend commenting unkindly on it, it did make me think about how very much I dislike my 34g boobs.

Why? Because most fashions don't suit me. I either look frumpy or trashy. Those surrendered wife dresses that are so fashionable right now just look matronly on me, jackets and dresses are either tight on the top or too big on the hips, I have to wear either figure hugging outfits or ones that make me look huge all over, often when I go shopping I feel like I'm am alien as clothes are just not cut to fit my shape.

Even Pepperberry, which has gone out of business, wasn't great. And then, there's a snooty thread saying how you shouldn't wear cardigans, and especially not waterfall ones. Well, those are THE ONLY ONES THAT SUIT MY SHAPE!!

I remember once going on a date with a guy and I was wearing a wrap dress and when I said afterwards why I didn't want t
o go home with him, he said, well why were you wearing a dress like that??

Why is it so hard to find decent clothes..??

I could have written your post. 32FF and it’s so bloody hard to find something that fits, I really would love a reduction.

I do agree that it’s best to go for a “fit and flare” dress and one positive thing I’ve noticed recently is lots of dresses with a band of elastic at the back of the waist. This really helps if there are also buttons down the front, it just means there’s a bit more “give” and I’ve found several dresses this year which fit so much better.

LizzieSiddal · 03/07/2022 23:01

Those of you who’ve had reductions, may I ask, how long it takes to recover from the op?

SnowfallSnowball · 03/07/2022 23:02

I totally get this, I’m a 34HH, they’re the bane of my life! I do buy bras from eBay so manage to get them about half price, brand new ones too! Also worth checking out Simply Be as they always seem to have offers, handy for bras. Jackets are so difficult to find as well, either far too big or they make a weird shape and they don’t hang right. I do feel sorry for my DD, got her measured the other day and she’s 32G, bless her she’s only 15 :(

Appalonia · 03/07/2022 23:03

So glad I started this thread, it's good just to vent! I know there's much bigger problems in the world, but for us, this IS a problem on a daily basis. I have no solutions sadly, but it makes me feel better knowing that I'm not alone with this. X

Could you point us to dresses like this im.not aware of any? An elasticated band that is at the back, not the front sounds great!

Could have written this myself. I am a 34L and just under 5ft. It is unbearable. I am gunning for a reduction as soon as I can.

TheVillageShop · 03/07/2022 23:08

I share your pain and frustration. I'm 5ft 2, 32 G and swear they grew overnight when I was 10. I used to get taunted as 'Diana Dors' - (a 1960's bombshell) and still haven't got used to them even now I'm 65. I'm going to be widowed soon and am seriously thinking of having a reduction after as nobody will care then except me.

On top of everything you've all said I particularly hate the deep channels in my shoulders from 55 years of straps digging in with the weight they've had to support. And I would take up running. I would love to be able to run again like a girl.

I am not overweight but as for clothes, I look like an old frump, or an old porn star if I wear anything remotely figure-hugging. No half measures of looking normal. Consequently I have no interest in clothes - they all look rubbish on me so I stick to jeans and loose navy jumper or T shirt, the plainer the style the better.

AngelsWithSilverWings · 03/07/2022 23:08

I totally get it. I was a 34gg and hated it. Used to be reduced to tears going shopping for clothes. Pepperberry was very hit and miss and didn't cut clothes for an apple shape. It seems to be assumed that if you had big boobs you also had a tiny waist and big hips!

Finally at the age of 47 I had a reduction and it's changed my life. I can wear pretty much anything now and I'm so much more confident. I'm now a 34E and very happy. Best money I ever spent.

EmmiJay · 03/07/2022 23:11

I'm a 36GG and size 12/14 waist. I'm literally legs and boobs. During the winter I wear huge puffers and look ridiculously massive, so come summer time when I wear regular (always fitted) clothes people comment that I've lost weight🙃 No I haven't I just have to dress to accommodate my boobage! If I wear dresses they need to have a button up front so I can ✨️breathe✨️. This summer I'm doing oversized shirts over strappy vests and jeans/leggings/shorts/skirts/tight dresses to keep me cool.

MsOllie · 03/07/2022 23:12

34K here Blush I mean.. yep! Agree with everything
It bugs me when summer or going out dresses are all ones you can't get a bra under. I can't wear anything halter neck, strapless, backless
Can't wear polo necks or I look like walking boobs, same with crew and slash necks

LBF2020 · 03/07/2022 23:14

@LizzieSiddal I'm 6wpo and I'm starting back at the gym/PT tomorrow. I had 3 weeks away from work as I was told I shouldn't drive before then, but I felt well enough to sit at a desk by week 2. The wounds are quite extensive compared to say a breast enlargement which was probably the biggest worry for me. I'm healing well though so I needn't have worried about that.

1moreyear · 03/07/2022 23:19

Same here. 36J and I look like I'm wearing a tent in most dresses that are in atm. They just hang off my boobs!

Either that or they tuck up under my boobs and emphasise my belly and I look pregnant.

LizzieSiddal · 03/07/2022 23:19

Thanks @LBF2020, that sounds like you’re recovering really well! I presumed it would take longer than that.

@Appalonia I’m just off to bed now but will link tomorrow.

1moreyear · 03/07/2022 23:20

I like shirt style dresses but they're hard to fit because of the boobage!

Christinatheastonishing · 03/07/2022 23:22

34G/GG here and I was getting a bit put out by some of the comments in the flat chested thread, in their quest to make the OP feel better people were going a bit hard the other way!

My boobs don't bother me but I'm tall and big boned so don't look unbalanced. I feel for those of you in pain though.

Changechangychange · 03/07/2022 23:22

I’m a 30G and just hate it - I was a 30E/F pre-DS and that was fine. Went up to a 30H while breastfeeding, and at least they have gone down a bit, but I just feel like a pair of walking boobs. It’s really hard to run with such a big chest, I look matronly even though I’m only 40, and I look a lot fatter than I actually am because I either wear drapey tops to hide my chest, or I look like Diana Dors as somebody said upthread.

tulips27 · 03/07/2022 23:22

I feel the same. And as I've got older, I've noticed that even when I lose weight from my body the boob weight stays. 😒

If I could choose I'd rather be flat and need implants because the scarring is not as bad as the scarring from a reduction.

LBF2020 · 03/07/2022 23:24

Interestingly, my nurse said that they have more women in for reductions than enlargements now.

tulips27 · 03/07/2022 23:25

Also sometimes I lift my own boobs up to take the weight off my shoulders when I'm sitting at my desk (at home). Just to get some relief from the pain. I always worry I'm going to forget and do that on camera one day! 😆

SouperNoodle · 03/07/2022 23:26

I have huge boobs and feel like they look ridiculous. As you say, clothes just don't sit right.
My friend was wearing the most beautiful jacket last week so I tried it on and it looked absolutely stupid on me.

I've told DH that I want a breast reduction and lift in the future and he agrees it's a good idea as he worries about my developing back problems from the sheer size of them.

user1471548941 · 03/07/2022 23:28

28J here on a size 8 frame…. I have found my people!

i’m fairly confident in wearing styles that suit me- I have a very very short body so am basically tie waist dresses or nothing- an outfit of 2 halves like a top and skirt makes me look like I am all legs and boobs. At least with dresses the short waist balances out the excess fabric in used on my boobs by oh my god, yes to stuff just hanging better on people with smaller chests. I make a huge effort to look “put together” yet 9/10 times I end up with a tight look on the chest or a baggy round the waist!

ActonBell · 03/07/2022 23:29

Yes - finding this so stressful at the moment! I was a 34/36F and now breastfeeding and have gone up to a 36GG.
Everything looks rubbish. And where the hell can I find a decent bra that doesn’t hurt me. Just a comfy and supportive one, without a mono boob/boob shelf. That’s all I want. Is that too much to ask? I know the answer is bravissimo as I usually shop there but their styles are very hit and Miss now I think and nothing is really comfortable after a long day.

purpleme12 · 03/07/2022 23:38

I'm 28 HH
One bra is a J.
But I don't hate it at all. It's my one good thing
The only downside is the cost of the bras you have to get. And not forgetting the cost of the bikini ( and the fact that I can't seem to get a costume to fit as they seem to be made for people taller than me)

Bigtitsbetty · 03/07/2022 23:42

I have a reduction booked for September. I cannot wait.

It's really depending on shale but I love Elomi plunge shape bras, the Matilda is my daily bra and I've fallen asleep in it before and it's not been uncomfortable
Also like the Brianna and the Priya by elomi
For around the house I like reign studio bralettes
