£60 cut and low dry every 6 weeks = £520 per year.

No other treatments these days although I did when younger. Regularly had facials, manicures, waxing.

I meant mani not many.

savvy7 · 23/06/2022 17:53

Zero

RevoltingHumanHead · 23/06/2022 17:58

£25 a month on a gel pedicure.

£45 haircut about four times a year.

I spend on skincare, makeup etc. but nothing else in a salon.

CoffeeAndTV1 · 23/06/2022 18:08

I get my hair cut 4 or 5 times a year.

It's £60 a time, so £240-£300

I used to get my nails done etc, but really hate beauty salons, so just don't bother. I paint my own toenails and I do a little bit of work on my cuticles on my fingernails, but just buff fingernails. Also do all my own hair removal

Moonface123 · 23/06/2022 18:09

53 and keeping it natural, l do colour my roots at home, roughly get my long thick layered hair trimmed three to four times a year, approx £30.00 a time, no other treatments.

EllaPaella · 23/06/2022 18:12

Nothing in nail bars or beauty salons. Have my hair done twice a year - £200 in total.

Kim82 · 23/06/2022 18:18

Hair highlighted and cut every 12 weeks @ £70 a time - £280

Nails every 3 weeks @ £22 each time - £374

Eyebrow wax every 3 weeks @ £5 a time - £85

So £739 a year. Not too bad.

teaandtoastwithmarmite · 23/06/2022 19:04

I have been getting my hair dyed as well as cut now so about £100 every ten weeks plus nails once a month at about £30. Wow that's over £800 a year. I'm trying to save to buy a house as well!

Fazaroo · 23/06/2022 22:51

Haircut 3 times a year - £150 ish
eyebrows/lashes/moustache every 6-8 weeks = £36 X 8 = £288
pedicure 2/3 times a year = £75-£100
Occasional nails /holiday waxing - £100
Maybe total about £650?

Tigofigo · 23/06/2022 22:56

£300 on cut and colour x 3, that's it

BeckyWithTheGoodHair010101 · 23/06/2022 23:03

Hair £100 5 times a year = £500
Botox £175 4 times a year = £700
Eyebrow top up £200 once a year = £200

Occasional pedicure £100 ish
Occasional massage / facial £200 ish

I do my own nails. Don't have lashes or anything else. Since lockdown I'm going to the hairdresser every 10 weeks instead of every 6 so that's made a difference to the cost.

lolil · 23/06/2022 23:05

Nothing. I chance a box due on my hair every few months so maybe £6 x 4. £24 a year sounds fine.

Onetoffeetin · 23/06/2022 23:38

Wow! 2 haircuts a year usually at £30 each.* This year I had my hair coloured for the first time since 2004 as a birthday treat, cost £100 including cut. Had my first facial too, £50.
I've had 2 manicures in my life and 1 pedicure. Used to have my eyebrows shaped but stopped about 20 years ago.

  • only 2 haircuts since pandemic started.
PickAChew · 23/06/2022 23:40

£50 cut every 4 months, so £150.

DiamondBright · 24/06/2022 00:09

Hair cut about every 8 weeks - £26 = £170 ish
Fringe trims in between - £3 = £18 ish
Nails - every 2/3 weeks - Between £23 and £35 so £500 ish

So maybe £700 a year.

I gave up having my hair coloured a while ago so I spend a lot less now, I used up go every six weeks and had a colour every other appointment.

DiamondBright · 24/06/2022 00:11

Podiatrist twice a year = £70 if that counts.

MamaBearof4 · 24/06/2022 00:25

Wash and cut maybe 3 or maybe 4 times a year, £40 each.
No nails, no eyebrowness, no spa days or facials.
A pot of whatever moisturiser is on offer maybe 3 times a year £20 each, max.

LaWench · 24/06/2022 04:48

Oh I forgot about the chiropodist for a luxury pedicure, £50 2-3 times a year, but I claim it back through my health cash plan so technically £0.

gizmoismymate · 24/06/2022 06:03

It took some thinking on my part for this..

So:
Hair, highlights and cut every 12 weeks 85 x 4 - 340
Nails every 2 weeks gel 18 x 24 - 430
Eyebrows waxed every 4 weeks, 5 x 12 - 60
Toes every 4 weeks gel 15 x 12 - 160
Eyebrows top up every year to 18mths - 150
Botox every 6 mths - 420

Total 1560 and this is what I class as my strandard stuff, I try and get facials twice a year and a sports massage a couple of times. A spa day is my idea of heaven.

whoruntheworldgirls · 24/06/2022 06:39

£65 for root touch up and toner every 6 weeks
Daughters trim £12 every 3 months

namechange496829 · 24/06/2022 08:58

Cut and colour 4 times a year - £240

Occasionally get my lashes done for holidays so maybe £100.

Thats it now it use to be more but have currently have young DC and work part time. So beauty treatments were the first to go!

Travis1 · 24/06/2022 10:14

🤣 well this thread makes me think I’m more high maintenance than I thought 🙈

Hair - cut & colour(normally vivids so bleach needed too) approx £130 x 5 a year = £650
nails - fit tips removal and replace £56 a month = £672
toe nails - gel polish for holiday 1 x £24
waxing - full leg, Hollywood & full face 6 weekly @ £95 = £760
neck lip and chin waxing 6 weekly @ £15.00 = £120

total = £2,226 per year so £42 a week.

if we need to cut back first to go will be the leg waxing. Nails and facial waxing are just things I would do my best to keep.

It adds up frighteningly quickly once you get going doesn’t it?

DelphiniumBlue · 24/06/2022 20:02

Not much.
Very occasional eyebrow threading at £4.50 a go, thrice yearly haircut -usually under £30 a time. I twice had lowlights while growing out the grey, which were about £100, but don't get them anymore.
I dye my lashes and brows at home, the kits are about a tenner, and last for about a year, and paint my own nails sporadically. I shave my legs or get wax strips.
I did buy expensive make-up, about £100 worth, before Christmas. I use it daily but it'll last me till next Christmas, I think. Then 2 tubes of Protect & Perfect a year, Aldi moisturiser, and about £25 pa on shampoo and conditioner. I get a decent scent for Christmas or birthday, and that's about it.
I am developing a more expensive clothes habit though!

ThankYouVeryMuchGerry · 24/06/2022 23:54

Too much. I started to add up cost of hair, nails, brows, lashes, massages, waxing, facial treatments, botox & fillers and my stomach fell through the floor so maybe time to have a think about what I'm spending. The cost of skincare and gadgets for my face etc, and PTs for different things is considerable too. I don't have kids so Ive always just treated myself as I earn a good wage but I think what I'm spending is actually obscene.
