£60 cut and low dry every 6 weeks = £520 per year.

No other treatments these days although I did when younger. Regularly had facials, manicures, waxing.

OP posts:

About £18 every six weeks for a haircut.
I used to have a spot of Botox, but I’ve decided to age naturally & spend the money on travel and clothes (my real weaknesses).
Up to my last holiday I had my lashes/brows dyed & brows waxed. Also manicure & pedicure whenever I was due to go away. I’ve decided to do my own now.
I do enjoy a bit of a pamper on holiday. A facial, massage or manicure, or all three. The cost depends on where I am of course.
Routine stuff though? Just my hair.

Hair £150 every 6 weeks for highlights and cut

Pedicure (full podiatry treatment) with gel toes bi monthly £70

Monthly:

Gel bottle biab nails £38
Brow thread and tint, lash tint £25
Brazillian and full leg wax £75

MushyPeasPrincess · 22/06/2022 23:41

Cut and colour roughly £450 a year

Nails for holidays about £100 a year (fingers and toes for 2 trips on average) sometimes Christmas nails too so £125 total although didn't bother last 2 years as no big parties to go to.

I think that's it. Very fine body hair that's easily removed so no waxing needed. No Botox etc. I probably could do with someone professional doing something with my brows but haven't got round to it yet.

Therealpink · 22/06/2022 23:42

It’s like a voluntary tax on women.

DuckBilledPlattyJoobs · 22/06/2022 23:43

Nil

alexdgr8 · 23/06/2022 01:15

had my hair cut today, charged £18, paid £20.
usually go about every 3 months, but this time was 6 months since.
don't spend on any other salon things.
try to buy necessities in poundland and lidl.
mostly suncream at the mo, and moisturiser with SPF.

Floralnomad · 23/06/2022 01:19

i have my hair trimmed about twice a year £23 each time and that’s all .

Cameleongirl · 23/06/2022 01:21

Not going to say, but DH wants to cut down our expenses…I’ve said that he’ll have to deal with the consequences if I cut back on hair/besiry

Cameleongirl · 23/06/2022 01:26

Posting fail. I’ve told him that he’ll have to deal with the consequences if I turn into a crumbling ruin. 🤣

Hair: £600-700 a year now I need to cover greying temples.
Facials/brows: £500ish
Nails(summer months only): £200ish

I spent a lot less when I was younger.

AutumnColours9 · 23/06/2022 01:31

None.

roses2 · 23/06/2022 04:58

I'm surprised at how few people go for a regular wax.

I have wax 4x per year £40 each time
Dry cut 2x per year £15 each time
Total £180/year

MoggyP · 23/06/2022 06:01

You don't need waxing at all, let alone regularly, if you have access to an epilator, or creams, or a razor.

It shouldn't be surprising that they are all in common use!

Not that it's necessary to depilate at all, if so minded.

Aaaaabbbuuuukkkkjjjjkkkk · 23/06/2022 06:10

Around £30-60 per year when I get my hair cut. (I usually get it cut once or twice a year)

Sortilege · 23/06/2022 06:13

Until recently about £50 a year, now much much more. Maybe £3000 since lockdown? I’ve suddenly discovered everything. I’m going to have to prioritise though.

That’s exactly it. You have to choose whether to start shoring it all up or give in gracefully. I didn’t expect to turn high maintenance in my forties.

Rinatinabina · 23/06/2022 06:21

Probably £120 a year on haircuts (2 a year, I just rarely seem to find the time) , I have white hairs now but not going to dye as I am definitely not going to keep up regular dye jobs. Tbh it was more before I had DC, would get a manicure etc but now my hands are in water a lot so keep my nails short.

RubricEnemy · 23/06/2022 06:46

Varies with how often I can organise myself to get my hair cut and coloured, and whether I'm using boxdye or going to the salon for colour. So between £200 and £600/year.

No other regular treatments and my skincare routine is soap, water and the same moisturiser I use on the rest of me + sunscreen. If I'm being very organised, I might get a pedicure at the start of summer.

I put make-up in this budget, too, and that's maybe £200/year, max (even new mascara every 3 months adds up, maybe a tenner a time).

That's a fair point as razor blades and home waxing strips are cheaper but not cost-free. They do add up.

Rubygloomy · 23/06/2022 06:57

Probably about £90.

3 hair cuts a year.

That's it.

theoldhasgone · 23/06/2022 07:23

Haircut every 4-5 weeks = £600/ year.

The rest I do at home - used IPL so legs/bikini etc barely need anything now. Tweeze facial hair inc eyebrows.

Never have facials as I have a skincare routine I like and my skin is fussy.

Nails: just cut them, often don't even file them. If I paint them (one every two years or so) I take the polish off in two days as I hate it.

Have considered lash stuff but absolutely cannot be doing with more appointments for maintenance.

marinasea · 23/06/2022 07:28

Waxing wasn't expensive at the salon here. I used to, quite recently, epilate and wax, but it gave me awful ingrown hairs. I've got rid of those with exfoliating and moisturising, and switched to electric, wet shaving and depilatory creams. Next a Lumea!

PersonaNonGarter · 23/06/2022 07:33

£1400 all on hair (highlights, balayage, roots and tint) every 7 weeks.

Nothing else - I do my own lashes, waxing etc.

TBH I consider the hairdresser money just the cost of doing business and looking reasonable at work.

Cannot believe what some people spend on nails tho.

Fizbosshoes · 23/06/2022 07:44

I have my hair cut once a year (around £50) and 1 set of gel nails per year (around £25) . But DD wants her hair cut and coloured so I'll spend more this year!
I wax my own and DDs legs at home

Madamecastafiore · 23/06/2022 07:49

Fillers £200
Botox £200 (2 or 3 times)
Hair £60 5 weekly
Nails £30 (3 weekly)
All other bits £100 (6 weekly)
Odd facial £50 bi monthly

No idea what it adds up to.

Lightning020 · 23/06/2022 08:09

£9 dry cut at unisex barbers every five weeks.

£65 monthly visit to my beautician for backrub pedi and many

Every ten months £250 dermal fillers at my amazing other beautician (I only use 1 ml in the spirit of thrift)

I dye my own hair every six weeks (£4 Savers)

I wet shave my own armpits legs down below etc weekly. Costs pennies

I do my own face mask weekly. Currently Liz Earle.
