£60 cut and low dry every 6 weeks = £520 per year.

No other treatments these days although I did when younger. Regularly had facials, manicures, waxing.

£0

Do it all myself Smile

aftonwater · 22/06/2022 07:40

Hair cut and colour - about £800 per year
nails - about £100 per year

trilbydoll · 22/06/2022 07:40

Hair / eyelash tint - £80 every 2 months - call it £500
Eyebrows - £10 every fortnight - £250
Waxing - £30 every 2 months - £180

Total just under £1k and I consider myself fairly low maintenance 🙃 I might have to revisit that assessment!

Soontobe60 · 22/06/2022 07:40

Hair cut every 8 weeks @£20 a time
Nails every 3 weeks @£30 a time

130 + 520 = £650 a year =£12.50 a week

courtrai · 22/06/2022 07:41

Highlights and cut every 6 weeks - approx 750 a year
Botox - 4times a year £1,200
Occasional filler to plug wrinkles - 600
No nails, lashes or brows because despite ridiculous spending above I'm too tight to pay for something I can do myself.

dontgobaconmyheart · 22/06/2022 07:42

Literally nothing. I like my natural colour and have always cut my own hair, never been to a hairdresser or salon. I've always said I will venture to the hairdresser when the greys come in properly as I'd rather a decent job was done of the colour and don't want to put a box dye flattening the dimension out so I'm sure there are costs lurking for me in the future.

I've never had my nails done but am happy with those too. I paint my own on the rare occasion I go to an event or just use a clear polish.

Never been to a salon for any other reason either. It just doesn't appeal, though presumably I'd probably look better if I did!

Possiblynotever · 22/06/2022 07:47

Just out of curiosity, where do you all live? I have never been able to find a good hairdresser in London for a cut and dry for less than £100...so, I have let my hair grow! I find prices horrific for everything: nails, facials...so I refrain

ClarissaD · 22/06/2022 07:48

Hair- £120 x 3
Nails- I only bother for summer hols and Christmas, so £40 x 2
Threading- £30 x 4
Waxing- only for summer hols, £40
Facial with laser- £220 x 2

RosesAndHellebores · 22/06/2022 07:48

Hair £150 every six to seven weeks: so about £1500 pcm.

Nothing else.

Westfacing · 22/06/2022 07:49

Hair cut & roots about 4 times a year, £400
Pedicure & eyebrow wax about 4 times a year, £240

So not too bad if I think of it as £12 a week!

sanityisamyth · 22/06/2022 07:51

Hair is cut about every 18 months and costs £30 or so.

hattie43 · 22/06/2022 07:52

£75 every 5-6 weeks maintenance waxing.

£138 cut and colour every 6 weeks

Elemis skincare as when I run out
MB shower gels as and when

Exercise class £8.50 per week

PurpleDaisies · 22/06/2022 07:55

£80 on hair cut and dye about every 3 months.
£10 sporadically on eyebrow shape-probably averaging around every couple of months

Thats about £300 total

I am in London. I find the prices horrific too ( esp as I am from a cheaper country) so just gave up. I do spend money; just on other stuff like travel and experiences.

comfortablyfrumpy · 22/06/2022 07:56

Hair about £240 (cut/colour every 12-14 weeks, cut in between). Mobile hairdresser so saves a fortune over local salon.
Nothing else, haven't been to a beauty salon for years.

PurpleDaisies · 22/06/2022 07:57

Exercise class £8.50 per week

I would count that as a totally different category of spending

Amdone123 · 22/06/2022 07:58

Hair - free, as my friend does it.
Like many pps, I've never had my nails or any beauty treatment done in a salon. I hate being pampered / sitting still.
I do treatments at home which I quite enjoy.
Exercise, £20 a month. 3 zumba classes a week.

Barrawarra · 22/06/2022 07:58

Haircut 3/4 times a year, £35 = £140.
Dont do anything else, maybe a few massages/ facials a year, £2/300

QuebecBagnet · 22/06/2022 07:59

£36 a year, Haircut every six months at £18 a time.

AllThingsServeTheBeam · 22/06/2022 08:00

Nothing.

Haven't had my hair touched for about 5 years and then it was a freebie and I never have any other beauty treatments!

Desert76 · 22/06/2022 08:02

Nothing since 2020. Teen dd started cutting my and DH’s hair in lockdown, and does a fairly reasonable job of both.

Before Covid I was still pretty low maintenance, I think.
Maybe £90 on haircuts, £50 on waxing and £60 on eyebrows in a year, so £200 total.

TeaAndStrumpets · 22/06/2022 08:03

It's interesting to see people's different beauty regimes. I guess I was always low maintenance re make-up etc but I felt I really needed to spend on my hair. It is really fine and getting thinner too. My hairdresser kept me looking pretty smart by clever cutting, but it was quite boring tbh - think Nichola Sturgeon ;-(

After I was forced to grow my hair during lockdown I rediscovered my forehead....had always had a fringe before and quite liked the new look. Then enjoyed trying french plaits, buns, etc. I discovered that despite my fine hair I could puff it out a bit with different styles, so it gives an illusion of more.

I do look like my grandma circa 1914. By the end of her life she had a short perm like every other woman in 1960, but she looked so much nicer with long hair!

DaisyWaldron · 22/06/2022 08:04

Eyebrows shaped and dyed: £20 every 2 months, so £120.

DD cuts my hair.

But I do spend money on stuff I do at home - make-up, hair dye, skincare etc, so the overall cost is considerably more than that.

rookiemere · 22/06/2022 08:06

Half head highlights and cut =£100 x 4 per year= £400
Haircut and blowdry say 6 per year x £50 = £300
So £700 in total.

I used to get my eyebrows waxed every couple of months but all the beauticians seem to struggle to get staff these days, so haven't had it done for a couple of years.
I also used to get bikini line waxed, now I use hair removal cream as it's much more convenient and cheaper.

megletthesecond · 22/06/2022 08:08

Approx £100 a year on three or four haircuts.

I've got a Philips lumea now so never need to get my legs waxed.
