£60 cut and low dry every 6 weeks = £520 per year.

No other treatments these days although I did when younger. Regularly had facials, manicures, waxing.

Comefromaway · 22/06/2022 12:14

£40 cut and blow dry every 2-3 months

Astrabees · 22/06/2022 12:21

hair is on a cycle of Cut/6weeks/full head of highlights/ 6 weeks/ cut 6 weeks/ half head of highlights/ 6 weeks. I budget £55 per month for this, so £660 a year. I don't have any beaut treatments, do my nails and eyebrows myself. I gave up waxing during the pandemic and then my salon closed. Might start again, that would be £25 each 6 weeks.

WhyCantPeopleBeNice · 22/06/2022 12:22

We do not add up the annual figure, I live in denial!!

Eyelashes fortnightly £30
Weekly blowdry £30
Every 10 weeks extension refit (plus colour) £260
Every 5 weeks t section £90
Botox every 3 months £250

MollyRover · 22/06/2022 12:26

Hair salon: €800 Colour every 6-7 weeks and cut every second visit
Manicure/ pedicure: €150 gelachen fingernails maybe 3 or 4 times a year, toenails before holidays and decent pedicure once a year
Massage: €250 every 2 months
Facial: €250 same as massage

Looks like a lot when it's written out, and I'm planning to spend more on skincare in the coming months because I want to establish an age(ing Confused) appropriate routine- trying to rectify sun damage, spider veins, maybe plump out a few wrinkles. I work hard though and feel like I deserve the pampering.

MinglingFlamingo · 22/06/2022 12:28

£717 a year.

£23- nails 6 times a year
£100 - hair 3x a year
£22 Leg wax - 12x a year
£15- eyebrows once a year

  • £150 on random spa trips and occasionally get my eye lashes done
TinaBurner432 · 22/06/2022 12:33

I'm pretty low maintenance. I get my hair coloured and cut for £60- well it's just gone up to £70 and I get a bit of filler in my top lip once a year which is £125 for 0.5ml. I don't get botox as my fine lines are really minimal and don't like the frozen look. I just feel better having a bit of volume in my top lip. I do everything else myself, nails, facials, fake tan from time to time. Do my own eyebrows as well as I prefer them thicker

Fairnair · 22/06/2022 15:43

I said I spent zero in salons earlier which is true. Don’t wear makeup very often, & if I fancy some skin care products (rubbish at keeping to a routine), my husband will buy for birthday & Christmas, not very expensive brands though.

Lucky in that my nails are quite good, so don’t have professional manicures, hate false nails. Husband bought me a manicure set & Crystal nail files as Christmas gifts (I requested them).

Pluck my eyebrows when they get a bit wild.

Have sensitive skin, & I find it gets irritated if I use too many products etc.

merryhouse · 22/06/2022 15:53

haircut about twice a year (I get a pixie and let it grow out) - total around £120 depending on who does it

Lndnmummy · 22/06/2022 15:56

Alot at the moment about £3-4k in total on hair, nails,
botox and laser hair removal.

PomRuns · 22/06/2022 18:20

Hair £40 x4 cut and blow dry = £160
Nails 2 year for holidays mainly =£60
Pedicure x 6 = £180
Eyebrows x 12 = £120

But I spend a lot on skin care/hair care- maybe £100 per month. Yikes.

ArabeI · 22/06/2022 18:52

I'm in denial and am not going to add it up. Clinic for botox, but I do my own pedicure and manicure. There's probably more.

I do spend a lot on skincare, hair care and clothes, however.

Hopeislost · 22/06/2022 19:07

I have a haircut every 3 months @ £30 = £120/year.
I do my own gel nails/brows/Lumea but I have a pedicure at the beginning of every summer to remove dead skin (£30).

OompaLoompaa · 22/06/2022 20:40

Hair cut plus tip every 7 weeks £43
Nails for holidays £50 x 5 or 6 times a year
Botox and fillers £800 per year.

OxanaVorontsova · 22/06/2022 20:44

Hair cut and colour £90 every 6 weeks so £810 a year
Brows £15 maybe 3-4 times a year say £60
Nothing else, but lots of nice skincare at home, plus DIY gel nails

Lovinglife45 · 22/06/2022 21:48

Whycantpeoplebenice
Wow - your beauty expenditure!

Why not, if you have the disposable income. If I could comfortably afford it, I would get nails, hair, legs and lashes done at the salon. I like being pampered but it happens so rarely.

I work hard in a full time job yet do everything myself.

mobear · 22/06/2022 21:52

Around £1,500-£2,000 on hair, nails and waxing.

Lovinglife45 · 22/06/2022 21:52

Those who spend thousands a year, are you high earners with a nice financial cushion?

We have very little savings so could not justify doing nails, hair, lashes at a salon.

Heavymetaldetector · 22/06/2022 21:56

I get my hair cry cut for £15 every 2 months so £90. No other treatments.

DramaAlpaca · 22/06/2022 21:57

Around €500 a year, all on my hair.

Everything else I do myself at home.

stayathomer · 22/06/2022 22:01

Just counted and 70euro, have only had a hair cut and all over once in the last year. Actually when all the threads about letting yourself go etc come up I think about my 20s, when I got my hair done every two months, waxing including eyebrows, bikini, legs and underarm and massages. I was so it but god I’m like a man now in my 40s- there’s got to be a middle ground!!!! Saying that back then I could afford it!!

mobear · 22/06/2022 22:02

@Lovinglife45 The average of my annual estimate is about 2 weeks salary (after tax). I have low outgoings and savings.

stayathomer · 22/06/2022 22:02

So into it I meant😂

ApolloandDaphne · 22/06/2022 22:07

About £1000 per year on hair and nails.

NoddyMcdoddy · 22/06/2022 22:27

I’ve never actually totted it all up, so here goes

hair cut €50 x 3
Esalon hair dye subscription €30 x 4
Gel nail polish €30 x 12
LVL lashes €65 x 3
pedicure €65 x 2
leg, bikini wax approx €50 x 3
botox €250 x 2
Profihilo €250 x 2

Approx. €2100 per year - was expecting it to be more.
That represents less than 5% of my net monthly income.

I spend way too much on lotions and potions but making a big effort to cut down on that spending.

Fedupofthis123 · 22/06/2022 22:34

I get my nails done monthly with a builder gel. If I had naturally strong nails I’d do them myself but mine snap as quickly as they grow and then I start biting them which hurts. So £39 on that.

I’m somewhat low maintenance other than that. I get my hair done once every three or so months. Usually more like every five months. That’s between £50 and £80.

I used to get lip filler before covid but obviously went without due to lockdown and now I have no desire to start it again.

Sometimes I toy with the idea of lash extensions but I have to drag myself to the nail/hair salon as it is! I cannot stand sitting there for hours twiddling my thumbs! I have short, straight lashes that no mascara or curler has helped. If anybody has any recommendations I’m all ears!
