Your comfiest sandals/flip flops?

I need new flat sandals for summer. My old faithfuls have given up the ghost and I can't even remember where I got them from. So I need some new ones.

I'd like something that can go with jeans or dresses but they must be comfy! I'm going to London with my Mum in a couple of weeks, ideally I need to get something this week so I can wear them in a bit before we go!

Budget of around £50 ish. Can anyone recommend some because I don't even know where to start!

Birkenstocks! I bought some for a holiday a few weeks ago. They are so comfy - felt like someone had worn them in for me! Wore them every night with dresses and trousers

JohannSebastianBach · 20/06/2022 22:01

Birkenstocks definitely

MrsElm · 20/06/2022 22:02

Moshulu. Like slippers from the off. You won't want to take them off.

Florencenotflo · 20/06/2022 22:03

Really? I tried on a copy version and they seemed really stiff? Are the real ones quite rigid? How does the sizing come up, I have fairly wide feet.

My crocs flip flops are the comfiest things I’ve ever worn. I wear them all summer with no issues and can walk miles in them.

Florencenotflo · 20/06/2022 22:06

@TheGriffle I have 2 pairs of croc flip flops! I love them too! I wanted something that looked a bit smarter, I live in my croc flip flops though.

I live in Birkenstocks in the summer. Love them. I have issues with the arches of my feet but they have great arch support. Basically I wear them until the literally fall off my feet.

BabbleBee · 20/06/2022 22:08

Sandals are the most impossible footwear to find that I like. Everything I see, my 70 year old DM would wear!

DSGR · 20/06/2022 22:14

Reef flip flops, I find them incredibly comfy

WhereAreWeNow · 20/06/2022 22:15

Fitflop Gracie sandals. They're more than £50 but will hopefully go in the sale.

NotMeekNotObedient · 20/06/2022 22:27

Birkenstocks! Really hard wearing and you can wear them all day - beach, city, country walks.

Havaianas flip flops. Lush

most comfy flip flops by miles.

Farawayfromhere · 20/06/2022 22:38

Birkenstock Eva- they’re soft & waterproof

Florencenotflo · 20/06/2022 22:39

Seems like Birkenstock's are the front runner 😂 I've been looking online for the last 30 mins, I'm very confused, I might have to go somewhere to try different ones on!

Fit flops are very comfortable.

Birkenstocks give me blisters under my toes - the bit where the toe shaped imprint is.

AnnieSnap · 20/06/2022 22:43

FitFlops for flipsflops. Them and Clarks for sandals.

AnnieSnap · 20/06/2022 22:44

Oh yes, I forgot about Birkenstock for sandals.

OldWivesTale · 20/06/2022 22:45

Are Birkenstocks good for plantar fasciitis, does anyone know?

Trumpetpants · 20/06/2022 22:47

Fit Flops, it's like wearing slippers! I have arthritis in my feet and they are the only shoes that don't hurt. I've got the Lulu flip flops and the Shuv black shoe, pure bliss! Before that I had Clarks flip flops but these are so much more comfortable. Worth every penny x

I've got these (in different colour) super comfy, good for smart or casual. More than your budget but I'm on my third summer and they look as new

Elvira2000 · 20/06/2022 22:49

Doc martens chunky sandals are like walking on air. Straps can be a chaffey...but I just plastered over those. It's the soles that are make them worth it (and they look amazing!).

croclife · 20/06/2022 22:50

Crocs

SparkleMonster · 20/06/2022 22:52

Second pp that mentioned moshulu. I've just bought some "fruit punch" sandals in the sale and was amazed how comfy they are straight out of the box. I have wide feet and it's unusual that I find something that fits 😁😁😁

allboysherebutme · 20/06/2022 22:53

Clarks, Jemsa crossover. Leather. X

grosvenorgirl · 20/06/2022 22:53

Moshulu cork footbed sandals. Did 12 k round London, and feet not even slightly sore the next day.

Birkenstocks slip off my feet a bit and they take some breaking in for me. The Moshulus were fine straight from the off.
