Olay skin advisor how old does it say you look and how old are you

If you put a selfie in to the Olay Skin Advisor does it get your age right.
How old are you and what age does it say you are?
Wondering if it gives a vanity assessment or not

Olay made me 50, 7 years older than my actual age. Judging by its highlighted problem area it's basing it on my mouth. I just have a small mouth with a thinnish bottom lip. Always have. It's not an age thing. Generally I think people would probably say I look my age.

TheViscountessBridgerton · 14/06/2022 19:44

Said 33 for me and I'm almost 40

MyFavouritePlace · 14/06/2022 19:53

Happy with mine, knocked 11 years off. After having seen a horrible photo of me from the weekend I needed that! 😂

Palaceinwonderland · 14/06/2022 20:20

LOL - my new game for a while, results went from 22 to 47 😂 (I’m 54 and really not sure how the 22 could happen) Obviously I do not look 22 at 54

Mrcpy · 14/06/2022 20:58

Don’t take it too serious. I just took two photos. The first said 39 and the second said 32. I’m 36. The second photo was taken in slightly better light.

Sexnotgender · 14/06/2022 21:02

Added 5 years to me. In fairness I have covid and look like absolute shit today.

ClinkeyMonkey · 15/06/2022 09:57

I was the right age (55). I know I should be ok with that, but my ENTIRE FACE was flagged up as having problem areas🤣

Anyway, I tried smiling slightly and using my phone instead of my iPad and I'm now 49! I'm gonna run away before I get obsessed.

Rosehugger · 15/06/2022 10:40

My whole face was probably problematic too, but I don't see natural ageing as a problem.

apairofblueeyes100 · 15/06/2022 10:51

Knocked 7 years off me and I deliberately took a selfie in the most unflattering light so quite pleased with the result.

I don't like the way it highlights your problem areas though. Eeek.

Maighnuad · 15/06/2022 10:57

I've just lost my morning on this :-)
I'm 53 and got 48 delighted and then 58 and 57

SigmaFlags · 15/06/2022 12:03

I'm 44 and it gave me 28 under shadowy less flattering lighting and 26 when it was brighter. I probably do look a bit younger age as I've been religious about sunscreen all my life, used prescription strength retin a since my early 20's, never smoked, drank or sunbathed (I dislike being in direct sunlight), also no kids. Not in a bid too look young, I just never wanted those things and I use the tretinoin for congested skin as its the only thing that works, less lines, sagging, and pigmentation is a byproduct of that.

Do I really look 26, its very unlikely and none of us can really be objective about that for ourselves, we're either a bit delusional or hypercritical or both! For what its worth I don't think any olay product is going to roll back the years there are things that are proven to work like tretinoin, vitamin c, sunscreen, AHAs and so on. I'd look into them before spending money on commercial moisturisers with a bit of this and that in them.

Needtogetoffmyphone · 15/06/2022 18:43

I have a lot of problem areas! Am 53 - went up to 59 with an awful selfie, back down to 50 with an attempt at a better one. Going to stop kidding myself that I look ok - clearly o look my age.

EverybodysALebowski · 16/06/2022 17:33

This seems like an excellent marketing gizmo.
If you tell people they look much younger, they'll be flattered by Olay and pleasantly disposed toward the brand
If you tell people they look much older, they'll be alarmed and want to buy skin stuff, which might include Olay
If you get their age correct, people will think you're super scientific and trust Olay products.
And they've also gathered all our data about what worries us about our skin to use to target future marketing.
So, it's all a win for Olay no matter how good or bad the prediction.

Then again I'm 55 and it told me I look 38 so it is clearly very correct and none of us should doubt it or have conspiratorial thinking about it.

(Really, it's that I and my face are fat so lines don't show up as much)

HailAdrian · 16/06/2022 19:49

I'm 34 and it put me at 27 which is generally around the age people assume I am.

IvorCutler · 16/06/2022 20:22

I’m 38 and it’s told my I’m 30. Loving it 😂
