I feel like they should've swapped outfits. The neckline of the blue would've suited Sophie better and Kate could carry off the higher-neck of the pink without her chest looking uncomfortably flattened.

Sophie dress. There's a lot of these stiff fabric dresses about it reminds me of my Sindy Barbie outfits they used to have this look. Beatrice and Zara are wearing them I really can't warm to this sponge cloth type clothing. Anyone know what the fabric is??

Northernlurker · 13/06/2022 19:01

There's a picture of HM with Charles and Cam where she looks awfully frail.

I saw that and thought the same, northernlurker.

Comparing Kate’s two blue fit and flare belted coat dresses against each other, I think today’s one is a much better fit around her chest, better length, less droopy fabric, and ditches the distracting buttons. I wonder if she saw and purchased the first one, and then realised that it was nice but not quite what she was after? Having the means to go and get the perfect version made, she then did (I have sympathy, I have definitely bought of couple of versions of something I wanted in order to improve on the first one 😀).

Do you mean scuba? A little bit like wetsuit fabric, but much lighter?

This is from the Court Jeweller. It includes the image of HM. She looks teeny tiny, bless her.
Why is Prince Charles wearing platform shoes?.

@justasking111 - Sophie is wearing a pink Valentino dress, it's not scuba fabric.

Yes, @Serenster, I think you’ve hit the nail on the head there. When you compare the two photos, although they are the same in essence, today’s really is sharper, cleaner, a bit more edgy around the cut of the neckline and is generally just more modern and a hint of sex appeal… (on the royal threads??? Off with her head 😂)
It’s still a coat dress but it’s better.

Gooseysgirl · 13/06/2022 20:07

Here's the pics of HM with Charles and Camilla! Check out her shoes - nice to see her in something other than her trusty black numbers 🥰

KillingMeDeftly · 13/06/2022 20:15

Not the best photo of Charles, he looks like he's dropped all his teeth!

Camilla is one of the few women who could carry off that feather. Wasn't Kate made a lady of the garter a few years ago too? Or was that some other order?

MotherofPearl · 13/06/2022 20:15

@justasking111 I know what you mean about those stiff fabrics. I don't think they fall very nicely, and if I'm honest, remind me a little of crimplene. Smile

LadyEloise1 · 13/06/2022 20:21

@hopeishere
I agree re Cherie Blair. Her shoes are unflattering as is her dress.

Serenster · 13/06/2022 20:32

Kate has been awarded the Royal Victorian Order (as has Sophie, and until today that was also Camilla’s highest order). Here she is wearing the blue and red sash of that order, along with Queen Elizabeth’s family order (on the yellow ribbon) that is a personal gift of the sovereign.

The Order of the Garter is the highest honour in the UK system though (and the oldest - it dates back to Edward III in the 1300s, hence the robes and plumed caps!). Kate and Sophie both will probably be made members once Charles is King I expect.

KillingMeDeftly · 13/06/2022 20:41

Ah thanks @Serenster, that's the one I mistook for the Garter.

RockaLock · 13/06/2022 20:41

Very unfortunate nipple seams on Sophie's dress. Why can't these (very expensive) designers pay more attention to stuff like this?! Or maybe they do and that's just a deliberate feature Confused

I do prefer Kates's coat dress today to the other similar one, but really, they are so very similar that she needn't have bothered with the new one.

Scuba fabric you learn something new every day. It's polyester and Spandex woven together, non breathable yuk. Crimplene was a strange material it melts I seem to recall

Some photos have come out of Meghan visiting a nonprofit organisation when she was in the Netherlands for Invictus. It's the sort of smart casual ensemble she does so well.

Eaumyword · 14/06/2022 08:00

I like Meghan's outfit there and the jacket is a nice colour. She does casual chic really well.
She looks great but imho I think she'd look even better with a few inches off her hair length?

Serenster · 14/06/2022 08:54

I really like Meghan’s casual chic look there. I’d emulate it myself, but alas, not with that lovely butter-coloured Chloe jacket (like Kate’s gorgeous dusty pink Chloe jacket she wore with jeans, they are out of my price range!).

KillingMeDeftly · 14/06/2022 09:16

@Serenster That style of blazer is everywhere at the moment so I'm sure you could easily find a dupe.

gluenotsoup · 14/06/2022 09:48

Yes, she looks good there, I need a dupe if the blazer.
I also think a few inches off the hair would look flattering, I also prefer Kate’s hair that but shorter

Serenster · 14/06/2022 13:30

It’s Ascot from today, so there should be lots of royal fashion - here’s Bea and Edo appearing on Day 1. Her winning streak continues - I love these delicate colours with her complexion and her textured accessories with her hair.

Royal Style - here's to 70 more years of frocks and rocks!
KillingMeDeftly · 14/06/2022 14:15

Oh she looks lovely. She's really hitting her fashion stride in her mid-30s. Random fact: she's exactly a day older than my brother, so I'll always remember when her birthday is!

AdaColeman · 14/06/2022 14:24

Bea does look nice and summery at Ascot today, I like her Zimmerman dress, it's a beautiful fabric, and her bag/belt accessories, but not keen on her hat. It doesn't quite "go" with the dress, something with a flower closer to the flowers on the dress would have worked better perhaps.
Edo looks hot in his titfer!

LadyEloise1 · 14/06/2022 15:50

@AdaColemanThere's something about Edo.
I don't like him.
I'm not keen on Zara's dress. I dislike the pattern and shape on her.
I love the colour of Sophie's and also Camilla's.
I think the colour on Anne drains her and is drab.
It's a rare fail from Mrs Middleton.
I love the blue on the Countess Mountbatten of Burma.

dolphinsarentcommon · 14/06/2022 15:57

Camilla and Sophie look like they're my favourites although I haven't seen them full length.

I don't like Beatrice's hat at all.

Carole Middleton unusually misses the mark for me

KillingMeDeftly · 14/06/2022 16:30

As long as Beatrice likes Edo I think that's all that matters! They look very happy together.
