Has anyone else seen the photos from last night? Wow!! Some of the dresses this year were just incredible! The craftsmanship that went into some of the dresses is mind boggling. My favourite had to be Blake Lively's dress that morphed into a completely different look. I thought both were stunning. There were so many other gorgeous gowns as well. I wasn't blown away by Kim K in Marilyn Monroe's $4.5m dress, but I give her points for even being allowed to wear it and get into it! Apparently she lost 16lbs in 3 weeks just to fit into it - (just! - I think it was a tad tight). The one I'm struggling with that everyone else seems to love is Billie Eilish's dress. Have I completely missed something here? I really think she looks dreadful in it. But then again I don't like her style in general and always think she looks bored as hell and half dead. Have I just missed seeing something with this look?

Blake’s was my favourite! I think Kim looked beautiful. People seem to be outraged that she wore Marilyn’s dress but I’m not getting the hate. Like her or loathe her she is an icon.

I agree about Billie Eilish. Was not at all keen on Emily Ratajkowski and Kylie Kenner’s outfits either.

I really hope no one comes in and says we shouldn’t be critiquing outfits. It’s not a feminist issue as far as I’m concerned, I just love looking at dresses and we all have different tastes and opinions!

Blake Lively is such a beautiful woman, that dress is WOW

Blake looked just stunning and the dress had such a lot of thought put into it - from her interview it sounded like she had come up with a lot of little touches to fit the theme.

Billie's dress actually was pretty perfect for the Gilded Age theme, but I thought it lacked the modern twist. She also looked bored to tears.

I thought SJ Parker's interpretation was wonderfully bonkers - OTT in every way and all the better for it. If you can't go crazy at the Met Gala when can you?

So many people missed the mark even though their dresses were beautiful - it's almost like they didn't understand to what era the theme referred.

About the dress well , after watching the MM documentary on Netflix just two days earlier it really felt so strange , almost had a macabre feel to it.

I read the piece about KK on vogue , she arrived there wearing a dressing gown then changed to the dress in a designated area near the event , wore it for minutes for obvious reason, then changed into a replica after climbing the stairs,
others do this too, like Katie Perry who changed form one one dumb looking chandelier dress to a burger costume a couple of years ago.

Wow nippy Jodie Turner-Smith is ridiculously beautiful, and her dress was gorgeous too.

I liked Shawn Mendez's outfit and Jared Leto with his "twin" was lots of fun.

I think SJP really understood the Gilded Age Theme, and she can carry off a hat like no one can. Not sure about the others. Kims dress wasn't very Gilded Age, was it?

Some are excellent although the ones that just showcase an outfit that's not practical for everyday wear , puzzle me

I thought Billie's dress was bang on for the theme. Her facial styling/expression is a choice and it works for her.
