I like Sophie's checked (NB Daily Mail, not tartan) trouser suit. I also thought it was more flattering than some of the dresses that she wore in the Caribbean which were shapeless and made her look the same.

mathanxiety · 08/05/2022 03:27

I am wondering about those strange wrinkles on the sides of Charlene's face (not the sinus lines).

Loved her dress and the flat shoes. I think Albert's wine coloured jacket may have been required for the rugby tournament.

The children look sad. This must have been a horrible ordeal for them, and if she's still not up to par, they must be still struggling.

mathanxiety · 08/05/2022 05:26

DD4 has just ordered a pair of denim jeans like Charlotte's Smile

She has those lines from eye to cheek - my husband had the same after his sinus operation. They wear off.

Thank you

gluenotsoup · 08/05/2022 10:00

Thanks@Maireas, I didn’t know that about the sinus lines. Hope your dh is better too. I also wondered about the cheek puckering too.
Sophie looks fab there, the pink and her hair down is very soft and really suits her.

Do we need more pictures of the thread mascot? I think we do.
Upthread there was a picture of Prince Charles of Luxembourg at the zoo - a few more here. He's a little cracker!

I don't think you can have too many photos of Little Price Charles. He makes me smile and his parents always look so pleased to be out with him.

Definitely a checked suit memo going round the Royals at the moment. I like CPV in this one and also the blue dress.

Really don't like the dress and jacket on Bea - it reminds me of early 1990s Dorothy Perkins and not in a good way.

Trouser suits are definitely having a moment. I actually like both those looks on CPV - I like that she tries out colour and pattern, and different silhouettes.

OP posts:
GrouchyKiwi · 08/05/2022 18:19

Love both those looks on CPV. The suit is cool, and the colour of the dress is perfect on her.

RomainingCalm · 08/05/2022 19:11

And Sophie and Edward have arrived in Jersey. The double-breasted suit is most definitely back. I think Sophie has worn this dress before but I can't remember when. I don't dislike the dress but the neckline isn't great on her.

Yes, I think that may have been an Ascot dress.

RockaLock · 08/05/2022 19:44

I like Sophie's dress there, and it really shows off what a lovely slim figure she has.

He gets cuter and cuter :)
Stephanie looks lovely in those colours too.

LadyEloise10 · 08/05/2022 20:50

Yes that is an Ascot dress. She wore a hat with the same pattern on it.

CliffsofMohair · 08/05/2022 21:19

we have been very quiet in the state visit of Mette-Marit and Haakon to see their besties CPV and Daniel in Sweden. Or vice versa. Do you think MM and Daniel ever look at each other and think OMG look at the live we are living now.

LadyEloise10 · 08/05/2022 21:52

@CliffsofMohair
I was thinking that.
A real " If they could see me now " moment Smile

MotherofPearl · 08/05/2022 23:04

Adorable pictures of Prince Charles and I agree that Stephanie looks very pretty in those photos.

It's a pity about the high neck on Sophie’s dress because it looks a good fit otherwise.

I posted a link on the previous thread but it died the end of thread death

Have you seen the DM photos of PH at a polo match this weekend? It looks like he's getting a bit of middle age spread - must be the good life in Cali. And he's been much more affected by the Windsor bald gene than is evident when we usually see him from the front.

The Daily Mail hate him and Meghan so they always publish the most unflattering photos of him. He doesn't look too bad to me - I've seen guys his age with far bigger waistlines!

Serenster · 09/05/2022 09:07

I can still see ab definition there, which I’m guessing a load of 37 year old fathers of two would not have, so I think he’s all good!

Maireas · 09/05/2022 10:08

Balding is fine. A lot of men rock the bald look. He looks fine to me, and must be fit if he plays polo! I don't like the body shaming that these papers do.

@RomainingCalm

"And Sophie and Edward have arrived in Jersey. The double-breasted suit is most definitely back. I think Sophie has worn this dress before but I can't remember when. I don't dislike the dress but the neckline isn't great on her."

Sophie wore the dress for Ascot in 2019. I rather like it.

Serenster · 09/05/2022 10:37

I am also bemused at the age-shaming that goes on amongst certain camps of royal fans, @Maireas Time comes for us all, and most of the people discussed will be in the public eye for their entire lives, so of course they will look older…we should normalise and celebrate people (women especially) looking older, not point and laugh.

Maireas · 09/05/2022 10:43

Quite, @Serenster ! It mostly happens to women, but it's sad to see it applied to men. Are we not allowed to age? I like our thread because people admire Daisy, Princess Alexandra's and HM's style just as much as Kate and CPV's. In a society where "old" and "ageing" are used pejoratively, this is a lovely and kind space.
