I love Charlene’s dress and hair there, and G looks lovely. I just think she’s private, and prefers not to be in the public eye.

RockaLock · 25/05/2022 18:31

To be fair to Charlene, I have seen other photos of her and Gabriella at that event where they both look much smilier. Charlene's hair, the cut and colour, really suits her, I think.

Kate, Sophie and Beatrice were all at the garden party today, but I haven't found any good full length photos of them yet.

(William and Edward were also there, but there's not too many comments you can make about traditional top-hat-and-tails outfits!)

Pallisers · 25/05/2022 18:38

I loved Beatrice's dress today.

KillingMeDeftly · 25/05/2022 18:40

Kate brought out her Victorian nightie for the occasion. Sophie looks nice in that shade of blue and Beatrice's dress is quite unusual. At least she isn't dull!

Kate's dress is just a bit meh, there's conservative and there's dull. I like the blue on Sophie and Beatrice's dress.

SnottyLottie · 25/05/2022 18:56

Wow, that’s a very conservative outfit, she looks very odd in it. Not a fan of Sophie’s actually outfit but it’s a lovely colour and it really suits her. I love love love Beatrice’s dress but not sure about the power band/hat(?)

BeaLola · 25/05/2022 19:09

I think Kates is too much the sane colour - even the umbrella matches

Sophie - maybe the neck a smidge lower or a necklace of some type ?

Beatrice - love it - but not the raised hairband.

MotherofPearl · 25/05/2022 19:29

That pale green colour does nothing for Kate. It's terribly insipid.

Beatrice's dress looks great on her, I agree.

KillingMeDeftly · 20/05/2022 09:23

Sophie's dress reminds me of this one Kate wore years ago. She's never repeated it but it's perfect for events like film premieres. She was a bit curvier back then as she'd not long had George so perhaps it's now too big for her now.

I’ve got that dress in rose gold and I absolutely love it! Only worn it once because Covid and lack of opportunity.

It’s Jenny Packham for Debenhams (well, mine is, Kate’s may be actual Jenny Packham without the Debenhams).

I suspect you’re right and maybe it’s a bit big for her now.

RockaLock · 25/05/2022 19:54

Thank you for the photos!

I love Bea's dress.

I like the colour of Sophie's dress, but it's very plain in design - it feels like it needs something to liven it up a bit. Maybe just a lower neckline as Bealola said.

Kate's is perfectly nice and "proper", I suppose.

gluenotsoup · 25/05/2022 20:06

Bea looks good.
Sophie looks striking, it might need a bit I’d something to lift it.
Kate’s dress is just not very nice. 😳

LadyEloise1 · 25/05/2022 20:19

@KillingMeDeftly
Kate's brought out her Victorian nightie for the occasion. 😂

I love the colour but not the style and she won't be seen by all those wanting to see her at the Garden Party. She won't stand out. The Queen is a great one for "standy out" colours.
The style of the top section is a bit too Little House on the Prairie for my taste.

Bea looks good as does Sophie in her "standy out"'shade.

Serenster · 25/05/2022 20:56

Kate’s worn that dress before - its very pretty, but a bit lacking in impact. I did like her mint green hat though. Bea looked best out of the three of them, I thought. I didn’t even mind the headband.

Here’s Crown Princess Mary looking very chic today - the flowers are the perfect accessory!

KillingMeDeftly · 25/05/2022 23:09

That mint dress is apparently made by Kate's private dressmaker, who has never been named. I assume the same dressmaker customises her high street stuff so it fits better too.

mathanxiety · 25/05/2022 23:21

I love the shape and style of Kate's dress but that colour is as meh as meh gets. Her hat does nothing for her either.

Sophie's aquamarine is uninspired. The style too.

Beatrice looks great. I think the headband/hat suits the style of the dress, and this time her shoes go nicely, though I think the shoes she wore with the blue floral dress would have looked nice with this dress too.

KillingMeDeftly · 26/05/2022 06:51

Agree, I don't mind the style of the dress but the colour is very insipid.

hopeishere · 26/05/2022 07:06

I don't like the style or colour of Kates dress. Bea looks the best.

Eaumyword · 26/05/2022 12:28

CPM looks great, love her outfit.
Kate's outfit is a rare fail for me, I usually love what she wears. Too buttoned up and prissy.
I like Sophie's dress - a safe choice and quite a nice colour.
I like Bea's dress but please not more Tudor headgear! It looks ridiculous!

QueryA · 26/05/2022 14:26

Sophie at Vision for the Commonwealth awards. Not a great photo so it's difficult to tell what the dress is really like, but I quite like it. There is something a bit funny about the neck/shoulder line though.

KillingMeDeftly · 26/05/2022 14:29

One sleeve appears to have some kind of embellishment and the other doesn't?

chesterelly1 · 26/05/2022 15:49

Yes there appears to be some sort of shawl/sailor collar that's sitting askew. The fold on one side is at a pattern which draws the eye. I don't know where it's from but it's the kind of detail that I'd expect a designer to avoid

susiebluebell · 26/05/2022 20:54

There's something funny about the sleeve but overall that cut is lovely on her! Much better than the plain turquoise thing.

SeaRabbit · 26/05/2022 22:26

But the turquoise thing fitted, and actually she's quite slim. In some other clothes, she looks really rather large. The turquoise dress would have looked better if it hadn't been so very plain, or even if she'd worn a bold necklace.

TracyBeakerSoYeah · 27/05/2022 02:48

CPM looks fab
Kate when she goes Victorian nightie/Edwardian day dress always brings Eliza Doolittle & Mary Poppins to mind albeit in a nice way, as I always think Kate has those cute turn of the 20th century facial features iykwim.
I like the shape & style of Bea's dress but not the pattern but she still looks nice.
Sophie looks great in the pale turquoise shade & I always think she has gorgeous hands & fabulous arms

KillingMeDeftly · 27/05/2022 07:37

We haven't seen Queen Rania for a while but here she is looking as glam as ever. She seems to have eased back on the fillers and even though she's had "work" it's hard to believe she's got kids in their late twenties.
